To be sick of the royal propaganda the UK is fed?

I know most people don’t give a damn about the Windsors any more .

However , in a week when we learn about Philip’s affairs - notably with Sarah Ferguson’s mother ( all covered up of course like the rest of their debachery) we are now expected to swallow the line that William and Kate’s next mansion is ‘paid for by William and Kate themselves ‘

No . That’s not the complete truth .Every penny the Windsors have , they have taken from the people . We now know William and Charles make millions from public services like the NHS schools and charities . We only know about this as a result of dogged journalistic digging . And most of the mainstream media barely covered the scandal .

There are many threads here about how the UK is in steep decline and how people are suffering . Yet the royals are taking in half a billion a year and charging charities on top !

At least admit to us that all their money is stolen from us ?

Oh and if you haven’t heard the queen knew all about Andrew pocketing money via ‘pitch at the palace’

She was told repeatedly by officials . She did nothing
Can we have some facts please ?
The Windsors are a total facade - they are all like Andrew - he’s just the latest fall guy .

Trump is not a reason to keep the Royals.

It keeps getting repeated that Diana didn’t meet Hewitt until after the birth of Harry. But how do we know for certain? She mixed in circles where Hewitt was employed.
Sometimes a view is repeated so often until it is accepted as a true fact.

William and Kate are still very popular. In March of this year 74% off the British public had a positive impression of them.

These cannot be true, how many were polled? what age group? I couldn't tell you anything they do or why they are meant to be of relevance to me?

Nobody I know thinks much of W&K. It is so obvious that they are lazy with not much of a work ethic, and do the bare minimum they (think that they) can get away with. I am not much of a fan of K Charles either, but nobody has ever accused him of being lazy.

W and K, for now, seem well featured by the media, which counts for a lot in how they are generally perceived
They do seem to do the minimum required: a lot of short videos, press releases, trips to Wimbledon, and before you know it, they’ve reached their quota of appointments
So many perks for little input

I really liked the late Q as a powerful and reassuring figurehead
I’m sure she has many flaws and secrets, but when she made a speech it had the desired impact
KC3 is just not doing it for me

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 17/08/2025 13:51

Sorry, had many flaws. May she rest in peace

I get so much royal news come on on my social media feeds. I think because I am very interested in UK history, which inevitably includes a lot of stuff about Kings and Queens, I think the algorithm assumes I want to hear all about the current royal family.
What disgusts me is the constant bigging up of Kate. How wonderful she is, how perfect she is, how perfect their lovely little family is, how regal they are, what a perfect King and Queen they will make, how Kate walks like an angel, how she sits like a Queen, how she brushes her teeth with precision etc etc.
Contrasted with what an evil witch Meghan is, how she glanced the wrong way once or she smiled at a child she obviously wants to murder, how she holds the hand of her husband, how she invented the atomic bomb etc etc...
It's all just so incredibly obvious what they are trying to do and it worries and frustrates me how the public lap it up.

Pemba · 17/08/2025 14:08

Yes, well people are stupid.

Lampzade · 17/08/2025 14:18

The narrative has definitely changed concerning Kate . Before certain parts of the British media labelled her ‘Waity Katie’, Duchess Dolittle etc. Now those self same media behave as though she is the second coming ffs,
I don’t have anything against her. However, I think that she hasn’t fully embraced her role as a Royal and a future Queen and conveniently using her children as an excuse to do as little work as possible .
What has she achieved since becoming a royal? What has William achieved ?What will be his legacy ?
As others have said , Charles is a grafter and has projects which he is interested in .
William appears to only be interested in watching men’s football

The whole 'they bring in x billions to the country' is a load of crap. If they weren't here tourism wouldn't die, look at France for God's sake, Versailles is the most visited palace in Europe.

I just can't wrap my head around the fact that in the 21st century we still have people who are regarded as our superiors, purely because of the vagina they came out of or the person they married. Absolute piece of bloody nonsense.

The final nail in the coffin - and there were already plenty of nails - should have been last year when it emerged that the Royal estates (which do not pay taxes on their profits) have received millions of pounds in rents from public bodies like the NHS, schools and the armed forces as well as from charities. Think about that - whilst doing performance charity work they are profiting from those very same charities on the sly. William & Charles are also effectively slum landlords.

I was shocked by this and more shocked by the fact not many seemed to care. People get more wound up about the fruit content in Meg's jam!

There are children living in poverty in this country and we're all supposed to give a shit about some woman's jam.

Everyone should be shocked. What it means is that every time the Royals promote those charities through their 'work' then they potentially profit from any resulting increased donations. The kindest way to describe that is as a 'conflict of interest'; something that professionals in most business areas are at pains to avoid. But different standards seem to apply to the RF and so they get away with this.

Although having said all that, I really do have Kate hair envy. Her hair is just so beautiful. I'd give my spleen for her hair.

Aren't the aristocracy all interbred anyway I think Camilla was Shand Kydd before she got married and there were some Shand Kydds in Diana,s extended family?

Isn't Cams related to a former Royal mistress? And the quiz lady? Judith somebody?

There is wide speculation that she is using a hair piece to make it look so full. Nothing wrong with that but it explains why it's so thick and full. You can achieve a lot with the sort of money that she has! Look up pre engagement photos and you will see her 'natural' hair.

Yes she's the great granddaughter of a mistress of Edward VII but tbf, Edward VII had so many mistresses we're probably all related to one of them

Serpentstooth · 17/08/2025 15:22

Yes, 'my granny used to shag your grandad, shall we have a go?' Summary of the beginning of the romance between our King and his Queen. Don't have the exact reference to hand,

I'll get battered now but I think Catherine is horrible, horribly thin.

KC a grumpy old fool

The Coronation was positively embarassing to watch ( 2 minutes)

My favourite Royal moment was the peacher at the M and H wedding.

K&W have zero charisma between them I'm afraid to say, they may well be nice people irl but their public personas come across as really boring. Which really needn't matter - if it was clear that they were really working hard to use their positions to benefit their country - but it is so obvious that they are not and that they are just cruising on public goodwill. I don't think they agree that they are as popular as the royal media keep telling us they are; any more than we were a nation in grief and mourning at the time of QE2's death.

I agree that Kate is unhealthily thin, we haven't learned a thing since Diana & her bulimia. And yes KC is grumpy; he had barely acceded to his throne and within days he had managed 2 tantrums about inkwells.

I am not saying that they are intrinsically horrible people; just that the monarchy is corrupt and that it is bad for anyone's character to live in a position of such unearned privilege and deference.

She is a naturally pretty woman, but to achieve the stunning looks that she, arguably, now has has taken the very best products, procedures and assistance
And her nose has definitely changed
Not being nasty, just making observations

Google the Prince's Foundation which both William and Kate are involved in and the work that the Foundation does.

Exactly that. I am not a horrible person who like to have a go at people but the adulation and fawning is something else.

Like when the Q cut a cake and made some utterly tiresome and feeble "joke" everybody wetting themselves laughing.

W and K what do they actually do? I have no idea. They could do so much, other than wear clothes that cost thousands and thousands. They aren't the sharpest knives are they? Not is H.

She is a pretty woman and good luck to her. But she looks absolutely terrible sometimes. Of course we are not allowed to say that.

I think this is an unfair comment. She has had cancer and had chemotherapy. We don't know the type of cancer she had, but having been through that myself I know that afterwards I was emotionally and physically drained and it took a long time to get back to "normal". I still have longterm side effects which I will always have.

bldy · 17/08/2025 17:04

Of course we are not allowed to say that.

Imo she dresses bad a lot of the time. I know they don't want her to be a clothes horse but if you even express the above people think it's blasphemy 😀
