I'm from the west country and I call them holibobs... perhaps it's a regional thing??

Hoblibobs makes me cringe so much, but it is a good way to quickly know whether I should bother with a proper friendship with someone or not. Rule these people out immediately.

I've never use the term 'Holibobs'. It's mildly annoying. I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist about it. I agree with you on 'Staycation' though!! A 'Staycation' is when you STAY at home!!

I think holibobs is so awful that it's actually ok. It's gone full circle.

Staycation when you aren't staying in your own house is unacceptable though.

People calling British holidays ‘Staycations’ is my absolute pet hate.

A staycation is when you stay at home (hence the ‘Stay’ bit) and have lots of day trips.

Only four sleeps til my holibobs with hubby. I’m gradually clearing out the fridge so we don’t waste any food; we’ll be having a picky tea the evening before we jet off.
