Dogs suddenly everywhere

AIBU to think since covid it's got a little out of control 😅 went to my local outlet centre today (MacArthur Glen) and they're now allowing all dogs into shops and restaurants. Totally get dog friendly places, you can choose not to go to them if you don't like them but feels a little wrong they're now just in shops. What if you have a fear or allergy? Or is it just me?

This pretty much proves my point how dog people don't care and seem to think everyone loves dogs..wasn't a 'goady' thread at all, sorry if it was taken that way. Did any of you consider that some people don't actually like them and not want them in shops 😅 that's all this was, to see if anyone felt the same way but they clearly don't on MN 🤣😅

My lovely boy.i don’t really take him in shops if i can help it as he is v excitable and might knock things over. He’s pretty good in pubs and restaurants though 😀. He hasn’t been everywhere with us this summer as it’s so hot and he is old.
I love dog friendly places but I worry about shaggy dogs out at mid day in this heat.

Which McArthurGlen is it? My local one (Swindon) still bans dogs which I agree with as it isn't a dog friendly place and I can't see many dogs getting pleasure out of visiting.

What a shocker, lots of people feel differently to you! I realise not all people like dogs but I also couldn’t care less about that. As long as my dog and I are behaving responsibly then that’s all that matters.

The new 'pixie-friendly' trend and everywhere being rammed full of tanned people has really put my girl off retail therapy. She prefers binge watching a good box set Mr Hedgehog these days.

I know we’re three pages in and the OP has flounced, but what I never get on these threads is that it’s nothing to do with dogs or dog owners but entirely down to the proprietors of the shops/ cafes etc. If allowing dogs brings in more cash then that’s what they’re going to do! It’s really not hard to understand. Plenty of places don’t allow dogs. Go to them 🙄.
