About Gender neutral loo

paulhollywoodshairgel · 14/08/2025 18:59

I was in a museum today and my daughter (15) left me to go to the loo. She then waved me over.. she said to me.. I’d rather not use the gender neutral loo. I said that’s fine and sent her down a level to the ladies. A woman the approached me and preceded to tell me off for not encouraging my daughter to use the GN loo. How she has a trans child and how are they ever going to feel accepted with people like me around. I’m ND and I always second guess myself 10000 times a day. I wasn’t in the wrong was I?? I just said ok go and use the other separate loo. Surely my child can pee wherever she feels comfortable??!! I hate conflict so I just said ok and walked off!

I’ve answered this a million times.

Structurally, gender is the system of knowledge that gives meaning to sexual differences.

When it’s applied as a descriptor/ attribute of a person (e.g. Tandora’s gender) it means someone’s knowledge/ awareness/ recognition/ understanding of what sex they are.

Gender does not “trump” sex- that makes no sense as a statement at all.

Edited

Gender does not “trump” sex- that makes no sense as a statement at all.

But that is exactly your argument. That a man's 'feeling' of 'gender' trumps the reality of sex. That is EXACTLY what you are saying.

Tandora · 16/08/2025 20:00

This is absolutely not what the vast majority of trans people are like. A lot of trans people are very understandably very angry with gender critical feminists, but the vast majority of trans people are just like the vast majority of any other group of people- normal, human, not violent, not criminals.

And yes being trans makes a person very vulnerable to prejudice, discrimination and violence.

Edited

Then why aren't they speaking out then against trans violence against women?

No, trans people have NO RIGHT to be angry with feminists because they can't have their way. Feminists are very understandably very angry with these trans thugs who are so entitled they think they have the right to access spaces that were never for them.

And no, trans people are at the top of the totem pole, especially trans identified males. They have their inherent male privilege as well as male strength and now claiming because of their mental illness that they are more vulnerable than actual males, when they are the most safe, most powerful and most privileged. Wearing a dress does not make a male lose their inherent Male Privilege and as we can see from protests against womens rights, it does not make these males lose their testosterone aggression and propensity toward violence.

Tandora · 16/08/2025 20:09

Again,- I’m not sure what you are failing to grasp here.

A trans man is a person registered female at birth who recognises themself to be male.

They know they are trans because they know they were registered female at birth.

What is difficult for you?

Edited

A trans man is a person registered female at birth who recognises themself to be male.

Again you are confusing sex with gender. We are told they DON'T recognise themselves as opposite sex, but opposite gender.

They know they are trans because they know they were registered female at birth.

How does being registered one sex or another mean they know they are trans?

We know we are our sex because we go through that sex's puberty. It has nothing at all whatsoever with being 'registered'. We are our sex from conception, the moment the sperm enters the ova. That sex is confirmed when we go through puberty. What is written on a piece of paper has nothing to do with it.

Enough4me · 18/08/2025 00:17

Tandy's gender is, "systems of knowledge", only makes sense if you believe knowledge isn't based within the boundaries of reality.
Imagine not thinking within the bounds of reality (facts), you could then ignore evidence and you could change your argument to be right as you could bend your knowledge to fit your agenda.
The downsides are evident in this thread where Tandy cannot successfully draw upon reality within the discussion.
For example, there's no reality in saying men are physically weaker than women (whatever label the man chooses to use or not use). For Tandy the reality doesn't matter and in his knowledge a man choosing a label somehow loses power / gains vulnerability.
What a powerful label!

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 00:18

Tandora · 16/08/2025 20:19

What? I didn’t understand a word of this.

A trans man is a person registered female at birth, who recognises themself to be a male person,

A trans man is a person registered female at birth, who recognises themself to be a male person,

No they females (nothing to do with being 'registered') who recognise that they are female but who recognise themselves as aligning with the gender of a man.

Trans people themselves say they KNOW they are not the opposite sex, that they never claim that. Yet here you are saying the opposite.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 00:30

Tandora · 17/08/2025 09:42

In my post asking how a transman knew they were not a man, you said it was because they knew they were female

No. I said they knew they were registered female at birth. Surely you can understand the difference ? The assumption that being registered female at birth = being female is yours.

A trans man knows themselves to be male. They also know they were registered/ observed female at birth. That’s what makes a person a trans man.

The assumption that being registered female at birth = being female is yours.

It's not an assumption, it is fact. Trans people, contrary to you, DON'T think they are the opposite sex. That is what they all say.

A trans man knows themselves to be male.

No as they themselves say, they know themselves to be female. They themselves REPEATEDLY say they know* they are not the opposite sex to their birth. But they also know they feel as if they are a man.

My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain
That blokes, they can be dames
It’s all the feelz, it’s just ‘what I say!’
And more, much more than this, I’m a T-R-A 🎶

Tandora · 17/08/2025 09:43

Being trans is not a “pretence”. It doesn’t make someone a “bugger”. And it’s got nothing to do with “putting on a frock”.

People can see these statements for what they are- which is just the worst kind of prejudice .

Trans is 100% pretence. Saying otherwise is ignorant and uneducated.

NeverOneBiscuit · 18/08/2025 00:35

There’s a trans man on MN at the moment with an Ask Me Anything thread. She says she knows she’s a female, & that none of her surgeries or anything else have turned her into a man.

Of course those who could do with the education won’t be asking her anything.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 00:42

Tandora · 17/08/2025 13:30

TRAs never gave a rat’s arse about trans men until the SC ruling.

Completely weird that you think this. “TRAs” have always cared exactly equally about trans men and trans women. Supporting trans people has got nothing to do with supporting people observed male at birth and everything to do with supporting trans people.

Yeah, that's exactly why the MRA/TRA counter protestors have signs saying "Trans Women are Women". I've yet to see one that has Trans Men are Men. It's only about trans women. Funny that. Then again, since their whole entire focus is getting males to erase female boundaries, it's no surprise they are obsessed with male (transwomen) rights only.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 00:49

Tandora · 17/08/2025 13:37

Why do you keep asking me this silly question. The application of “rights” has nothing to do with whether someone is “nice” or not as you well know . Being a criminal affects a persons rights- nice is neither here nor there.

If you are referring to SP- the evidence about her being a generally prejudiced person (racist etc) was not used because it has an impact on whether she’s entitled to a “single sex” changing room. It was used to show that her objection to DU was not really about fears for her safety or privacy, her objection to DU was rooted in prejudice and her general intolerance for anybody who isn’t white/ cisgendered / British etc etc. SP is not a victim, she is a bully.

SP's views on race have nothing to do with her rights to single sex spaces. She was in fear. And she wanted privacy and dignity. This is well established. The male sexual predator Upton was the bully who accosted SP for quietly waiting outside, and who kept dossiers of women who said no to him. He is the bully.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 00:51

Tandora · 17/08/2025 14:07

I don’t think either your auntie or your nieces have the right to tell trans people what toilet or changing room they have to use. No.

They do have the right to tell male bodies with penis and testicles that they don't have the right to use female facilities.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 00:54

Tandora · 17/08/2025 14:09

This is all a load of rubbish.

Trans women specifically are the target of rallies like “let women speak”. Those campaigners entirely ignore the existence of trans men so why would they put themselves in the firing line.

As for people who care about trans people and their rights? They have been campaigning for, supporting , providing services , advocacy etc for trans men on an equal basis with trans women from day zero.

No THAT, is a load of rubbish.

MALES are specifically the target of feminists fighting to retain our HARD FOUGHT AND WON sex based rights.

Trans men are female. So no threat to us. But you know that anyway, so your post is disingenuous.

NeverOneBiscuit · 18/08/2025 00:55

Just one more, I can’t resist. I’m carrying out my activism through the medium of song.

🎶 Oh yes, I’m the great pretender
Pretending that I’m now a girl
My need is such, I pretend too much
So into your loos I must twirl

Oh yes, I’m the great pretender
Adrift in a world of my own
Validate me, I’m a gal, can’t you see
If you don’t, you’re a miserable crone. 🎶

Elvis has left the building ….🤴

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 01:02

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:11

There is no evidence whatsoever that women and children are more at risk by sharing facilities with trans women. Or that prohibiting trans women from using women’s facilities will improve safety for women and children. Zero.

Yes I don’t know what you’ve done, hence saying “I’m pretty sure”, not “ certain”. I’ve done vastly more than most people, so chances are I’ve done more than you. Your attitudes towards trans people (and people who disagree with you) is also a clue on this.

Edited

Your ignorance is sad. The evidence shows trans women commit sexual offences 5 times greater than other males.

Of course prohibiting males from using female spaces makes women safer. That is, after all, why female only toilets and change rooms exist, in the first place!

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 01:06

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:17

they know their sex registered at birth, does not match the sex they recognise themself to be.

Also I never said “no one can truly know their biological sex”. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I said sex was multidimensional and complicated. I still know that I am a woman.

The level of comprehension is baffling. I think I have better things to do with my time.

As trans people tell us themselves, they recognise themselves as the sex they are. But feel a different gender. You are contradicting what trans people themselves say.

I said sex was multidimensional and complicated. I still know that I am a woman.

Wrong. Sex is binary and uncomplicated. You are very baffled indeed.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 01:08

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:38

Again. You cannot generalise to the population using prison statistics. It’s not representative.

Wrong! Those prison statistics are about PER CAPITA. A term I don't think you've heard of.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 01:15

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:44

One of the risks in a mixed sex facility is an unwanted pregnancy

lol.
you sound like someone who would be more comfortable living somewhere with laws like Saudi Arabia.

Edited

That you think rape is a 'lol' says a lot about you. Especially considering women and girls have been raped by males in prison and in the ladies toilets.

You don't own a mirror do you. Considering you don't believe in sex-based rights or spaces for women, you and your attitude is more in line with Saudi Arabia's. In deed and in fact, I've often thought you would be in your element in Talibanic Afghanistan and wondered if that is where you're posting from.

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 01:24

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:49

No prison stats don’t say anything about the general transgender population.

That’s the whole point.

you cannot generalise from prison stats to the broader population, anyone who knows anything about statistics knows this.

On the other point I’m not going to keep repeating myself as it’s just silly. The evidence about increased harassment relates to facilities where everyone is together. There is no evidence that separate facilities for men and women where men’s can include trans men and women can include trans women increases violence. None. And there is no evidence that policing where trans people use the loo will improve safety for women: girls: none. It won’t:

Edited

Yes, they do, and you know it. You just don't like the fact that evidence clearly proves transwomen PER CAPITA are far more dangerous than so-called 'cis' males. That is what the figures show. Not just in the UK. But in the US. And in Canada. When the figures say the same thing in 3 different countries, it's a conclusive pattern. In addition to the one posted above, I include 4 others. One from the UK, 2 from the US, and one from Canada (the one without the name). You cannot deny the trend. The evidence CLEARLY PROVES that FEMALE ONLY SEXED facilities which include MALES bodies with penis are more dangerous to females. Anywhere that males bodies with penis are with females, increase the risk. That data doesn't lie. And you know it.

@ThatBlackCat

Hopefully if Tandora is posting from Taliban controlled Afghanistan she can do a public service for the women she is so apparently determined to protect.

Tandora can advise the women to draw on their feelings of maleness, & then identify as men. That way they’ll be allowed to leave their homes, walk alone, speak to whom they choose, dress as they like, go to school, take paid employment.

I just can’t imagine on what basis this group of people are oppressed? What could it be they all have in common? Are they all the same star sign? All vegans? All support Chelsea FC? Oh god no I’ve just remembered, they’re all the same sex!

I wonder how many Afghan men identify into this female oppression? I’m guessing between zero and none 🤔

ThatBlackCat · 18/08/2025 02:00

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:56

Maybe we should safeguard children by separating them from certain ethnic minority groups, where prison stats show disproportionately higher numbers of that group in jail for sexual offences ?

Sound right, reasonable, logical , rational …. anything to do with safeguarding? No. Thought not.

Edited

Oh the racists always bring racism into it. You disgrace yourself and make a fool of yourself by bringing race into it. Why don't you go for the trifecta and bring lesbians into this too.

Absolutely. Trans is a first world luxury belief. Like you said, no male in Afghanistan is going to identify as a woman and be forced to cover head to toe, not work, not get an education, not drive, not have a choice in who you marry and when and not laugh in public. That there is the proof that trans is a Mens Rights luxury privilege.

Oh my god being trans is not a “first world luxury belief”.

The stuff people say on here is truly appalling.

There are trans people all over the world.

My interest in trans issues first started with work I did in Asia.
