About Gender neutral loo

1000 replies

paulhollywoodshairgel · 14/08/2025 18:59

I was in a museum today and my daughter (15) left me to go to the loo. She then waved me over.. she said to me.. I’d rather not use the gender neutral loo. I said that’s fine and sent her down a level to the ladies. A woman the approached me and preceded to tell me off for not encouraging my daughter to use the GN loo. How she has a trans child and how are they ever going to feel accepted with people like me around. I’m ND and I always second guess myself 10000 times a day. I wasn’t in the wrong was I?? I just said ok go and use the other separate loo. Surely my child can pee wherever she feels comfortable??!! I hate conflict so I just said ok and walked off!

You just want that to be true.

Another strangely illogical assumption. Why on earth would I want that to be true? For what purpose?

This level of Tandora-ment (portmanteau of Tandora and argument, all royalties to single sex women's and girls charities please 😂) reminds me of an ex-boyfriend.

He loved picking arguments with me over anything and everything (once memorably, because he told me I was stirring my tea in the wrong direction!), my upset, confusion and loss of confidence over wtf was happening was very enjoyable to him.

I'd never come across a bad faith arguer like him before, and it was incredibly upsetting and disorienting until I realised what he was doing. This style of gaslighting, bad faith arguing was just one of his many abusive tactics.

I have often thought the whole trans ideology has many overlaps with abusive relationships, and the rabid TRA arguments like Tandora's are just DARVO writ large.

One of the risks in a mixed sex facility is an unwanted pregnancy

lol.
you sound like someone who would be more comfortable living somewhere with laws like Saudi Arabia.

Incarcerating a female in a prison cell with a man and being forced to shower near him is no better than being a woman living in an oppressive society.

The experience is exactly the same. No freedom from males and male rules

So now you’re comparing me to your abusive ex boyfriend? Because I questioned why you made a ridiculous assumption about me and my supposed “motivations”?

it’s honestly so outrageous the way some people behave on here.

It really shows people character.

Maybe we should safeguard children by separating them from certain ethnic minority groups, where prison stats show disproportionately higher numbers of that group in jail for sexual offences ?

Sound right, reasonable, logical , rational …. anything to do with safeguarding? No. Thought not.

What sex class are in jail for the majority of sexual and violent offences?

Care to answer any of the other points put to you?

You said...and I quote

"I put to you that every single one of them is either wholly or at least partially wrong. At best they are all significant over simplifications."

So I am saying "you just want that to be true"

Now you say you don't

So explain......

Well the good news is it only took me about 6 weeks of multiple posts across multiple threads to get Tandora to answer my 'silly' question. So if you are prepared to identify as a mule and dig your heels in you might get a reply by late September.

It’s fine, I’ve seen enough of Tandora’s ‘workings’ that make no sense whatsoever. It’s now comical.

This is purely to show how ridiculous this has all got. They do the hard work for us.

CohensDiamondTeeth · 17/08/2025 22:16

Tandora · 17/08/2025 21:49

No prison stats don’t say anything about the general transgender population.

That’s the whole point.

you cannot generalise from prison stats to the broader population, anyone who knows anything about statistics knows this.

On the other point I’m not going to keep repeating myself as it’s just silly. The evidence about increased harassment relates to facilities where everyone is together. There is no evidence that separate facilities for men and women where men’s can include trans men and women can include trans women increases violence. None. And there is no evidence that policing where trans people use the loo will improve safety for women: girls: none. It won’t:

So you'd just like us to ignore the report on rates of sexual offending when it comes to trans identified male prisoners?

Tandora would like us to live life as though there were somehow a big invisible and impenetrable barrier between trans identifying males just living their best life not doing any harm to anyone, and those other trans identifying males in prison for sexual offending.
Neither of these two clearly very different, separate, and distinct trans id-ing male groups has anything to do with the other according to Tandora. Somehow the sexually violent trans identifying male prisoners just popped into existence and go straight to jail (do not pass go, do not collect £200) without having lived and interacted with the outside world first at all? Seems unlikely!

You'd like us to ignore the many times a trans identified male has sexually abused a woman or girl?

Do you know who Barbie Kardashian and Isla Bryson are? I mean there's a lot more but they are pretty "famous" examples.

It never happens, right Tandora?
If it did, it wasn't that bad, right Tandora?

If it did happen, it doesn’t matter because it happened to a woman. And we would NEVER hurt a man’s feelings to protect women from physical harm, would we Tandora?

I don’t think you understand feminism.

I understand feminism very well, you don't understand it at all, since you don't believe the fact that women are oppressed based on our sex, and don't believe females deserve rights. You shit all over the headstones of our foremother feminists who achieved our sex-based rights.

Why? Just to appease males?

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:24

Tandora · 16/08/2025 16:29

Trans people deserve to be treated with basic decency. It is not disgusting to be trans and to ask people to respect that.

Females deserve to be treated with basic decency, too.

You seem to have forgotten that.

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:27

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 16/08/2025 16:42

So why do you think it is always a patriarchy? Not 50% of places /times women oppressing men instead?

Hint because women (as a class) are smaller, weaker and slower than men and carry and birth children.

The role of feminism/civilised society is neutralise male advantage and counter act that inequally. We still have some way to go. I don't regard women as inferior but I do recognise that they are biologically different to men and that this is often to the detriment of women (as a class).

Tandora genuinely does not understand that biology and stature underpins our oppression.

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:32

BubblyBath178 · 16/08/2025 17:14

I think the gender neutral loos are pointless personally. A radical trans person will ignore them and go into the loo that they feel they’re entitled to go into anyway. The less radical trans people (I assume trans men) will probably just use the disabled loo.

You did the right thing OP.

Then we need the power to call the police, like we had last millennium, and have them arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure. That will stop them. That and the good old fashioned beating men in society would give them, and if they survived the beating they wouldn't dare try it again!

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:35

Tandora · 16/08/2025 17:43

No , I never said trans women “are male”, nor did I say they should “be excluded from female spaces”.

We know you never said that.

But transwomen ARE male. And in every way almost all the time. And as males, should be excluded from female spaces, if you're sane and normal and understand the difference between male and female, and why female spaces exist in the first place.

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:38

Tandora · 16/08/2025 17:45

Trans people cannot help being trans. They are doing nothing wrong by being trans and using the facilities that correspond to their gender. They deserve dignity and respect.
And yes trans people are absolutely vulnerable.

Edited

Facilities are based on SEX. Not 'gender'. By a male using a facility for the sex he is not entitled to, he is absolutely doing something wrong. Females cannot help being female either, remember.

And no, a male in a dress has double-privilege. They are not even remotely vulnerable. Only females are.

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:43

Tandora · 16/08/2025 19:10

Oh my god.

For the last time. A trans woman is a person registered male at birth who recognises themself to be a woman.

Your belief is that a person registered male at birth is definitionally male. I disagree with this- as it is a simplism that doesn’t reflect the realities/ complexities of human diversity.

you may not agree with me but you should at least be able to grasp how our perspectives/ opinions differ. It’s really not that difficult.

Edited

A person is male by their DNA and chromosomes. Their SEX doesn't change, their gender might, but not their sex. Their bones will show male when dug up in 100 years time.

Your sex is not something you can choose. It's like your race and colour. You don't have a choice in your sex, it is your sex from conception to the day you die.

We are told time and time and time again that 'no one is saying they change their sex'. That trans and their apologists are not saying they can change sex. Yet you are saying exactly that, aren't you?

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:46

No

You don't know it

You don't know any of it at all

You cannot explain any of your reasoning for your argument so you deflect and deflect.

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:52

Tandora · 16/08/2025 19:19

The only reason this appears logical to you is that you have zero understanding of what gender is.

I knew I should have used different terminology

Edited

Gender is a misogynistic man-made social construct, a non-tangible 'feeling'.

Sex is tangible and immutable. Sex is reality. And that reality is shown in our DNA and chromosomes, and bone tests.

You don't seem to understand that.

ThatBlackCat · 17/08/2025 23:56

Tandora · 16/08/2025 19:32

We grasp how your perspective and opinion differs, it really isn't difficult at all.

Great so there’s no need for people to continue to tell me I know that trans women are male and think they should be banned from female spaces.

Trans identifying men are biologically the male sex, they are and always will be men. That is why they should stay out of single sex spaces designated for women, because they are men.

yes you’ve made your opinion on that clear. It’s completely wrongheaded, but you believe it very strongly. I understand that I’m not trying to gaslight you by asserting your opinion is otherwise! I would appreciate the same courtesy in return.

Edited

No it is wrongheaded to deny that DNA and chromosomes don't change, and we remain the sex we are born as.

You seem very confused between sex and gender, and your opinions are anti-science and ill-informed.
