I was in a museum today and my daughter (15) left me to go to the loo. She then waved me over.. she said to me.. I’d rather not use the gender neutral loo. I said that’s fine and sent her down a level to the ladies. A woman the approached me and preceded to tell me off for not encouraging my daughter to use the GN loo. How she has a trans child and how are they ever going to feel accepted with people like me around. I’m ND and I always second guess myself 10000 times a day. I wasn’t in the wrong was I?? I just said ok go and use the other separate loo. Surely my child can pee wherever she feels comfortable??!! I hate conflict so I just said ok and walked off!

I don’t need to be able to exhaustively “define” the colour blue to be able to identify blue things when I see them.

This colour blue stuff is another really weird irrelevant analogy, a distraction, and again doesn't really prove what you think it does. You do talk some amount of guff.

Even if someone doesn't feel the need to personally be able to exhaustively define the colour blue, there is a commonly accepted scientific definition of the colour blue, and which points on the colour spectrum the blue occupies before it becomes violet or cyan.

I feel that since it's in quote marks, Tandora will soon likely tell us that "define" has an ultra complex, polysyllabic meaning which would go completely over the head of a lesser intellect such as mine.

Honestly I'm just waiting for the day when Tandora's definitions become so complex that spoken language can no longer do these super-duper complicated meanings justice, and will necessitate Tandora to include some kind of additional means of imparting the information that Tandora thinks language sadly doesn't quite convey alone. Perhaps interpretive dance?

The woman who approached you was out of order. The stark reality though is that have been places that only had GN loos for as long as I remember, mostly small places with only one or two toilets in total. Maybe they weren't called GN loos, maybe they were called male/female loos or even just loos. If your daughter won't use GN loos, she is going to find lots of places she can't go to the loo! Which obviously is her choice....

But all loos are gender neutral. No one checks anyone’s gender. All loos should however be single sex. I’m all for mixed gender single sexfavilities. That way everyone is happy. Transpeople can go into the loos of their sex secure in their gender.

No. I said they knew they were registered female at birth. Surely you can understand the difference ? The assumption that being registered female at birth = being female is yours.

A trans man knows themselves to be male. They also know they were registered/ observed female at birth. That’s what makes a person a trans man.
