Thinking is weird my friend wants my man to help her move out with driving her stuff and putting stuff in her new home?

Im very sure i will prob get lots of different opinions on this.
to begin with we been togheter for 3 years my partner knows her trough me and he only have meet her trough some parties we have been hosting. So they don’t have each other on socials either. Last party my friend was hinting that she will move out from her parents house soon and looking for someone to help her move out, felt like she was kinda hinting that to my partner since she was looking at him. But its not like people in her family don’t drive at all. I felt a bit weird why she wants my partner to help in this. Another friend told me that some girls are like that when u get a man, they also expect your man to help them and do things for them because ur their best friend.

So she hasn’t even asked yet? But no, even if she did it wouldn’t be weird to ask a friend and/or her partner to help with moving house. And it’s not a ‘some girls …expect your man’ to help situation. It’s a ‘friends usually offer to help’ situation. My friend’s partners help out with stuff if I need something they can do easily and I can’t. It’s just helpful. And normal.

Sorry I find it odd to refer to him as your man. He isn't your property.
But to answer the question if she's a close friend I would absolutely he volunteering myself to help and naturally your partner would probably be there/offer to help too.

OoooopsUpsideYourHead · 11/08/2025 22:27

All this because you 'felt she was kinda hinting'??

It's not like she's asked him so just forget it.

RhaenysRocks · 11/08/2025 22:33

You're being ridiculous. He's not "your man" He's a man that you date. He's a man she knows and she's looking around for physical help with an awkward and heavy job.

ArtesianWater · 11/08/2025 22:34

I think she just wants help with something she can't do alone.

Hoardasurass · 11/08/2025 22:35

You really need to grow up and get over yourself.
Your friend hasn't asked him to do anything she told a group of friends that she'll be moving soon and would like some help, nothing more. This is a very common request of friends and yes when your in a relationship with someone and their friends need a hand with something you offer to help if you can and are free when needed, its what people do for friends and family.

MrsWalker2025 · 11/08/2025 22:37

How old are you?

Tommelige · 11/08/2025 22:45

@Hoardasurass no need to try act like a «bigger smarter person» chill dud, plus she asked when the others went out to smoke and she was sitting there with me and my partner. Or else i would not have tought of it

You said she hinted. Did she ask, or hint?
Either way it’s totally normal to ask your friends and/or their partners to help you out.

Why have you changed it from 'she hinted' to 'she asked'?

Catherine Tate and Matt Lucas vibes?

RaininSummer · 11/08/2025 23:02

Very odd. And what's with the 'trough' and 'tought'.

KittytheHare · 11/08/2025 23:02

@Tommelige your spelling and grammar errors are inconsistent. It would have been more believable to write “of tought, instead of “have tought”.

Kibble19 · 11/08/2025 23:06

Rachie1973 · 11/08/2025 23:00

Catherine Tate and Matt Lucas vibes?

Yes. 😂

Jeremy Kyle would be all over this.

”Is your friend moving in on your man? Got your suspicions about cheating but can’t put your finger on why? Give my team a call…”

BiologicalRobot · 11/08/2025 23:08

I see nothing wrong in a single woman looking for male help when moving furniture. Men really are the stronger sex (by quite a lot). However your attitude isn't that great, have you scent marked "your" man yet?

Battels · 11/08/2025 23:14

I read the thread title as the friend wanting the OP’s nan to help her move house and thought that seemed a bit much.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 11/08/2025 23:17

Chill dud is the funniest thing I’ve read on here tonight

Eightdayz · 11/08/2025 23:29

She clearly wants to spread her peanut butter all over YOUR chocolate.

You need to shut this down fam. Pronto

What I think it weird, is knowing a friend is about to move and not offering to help, when you are young.
I mean, that's what people do.
