I am not excusing grooming, paedophile sex rings and unmonitored immigration at all but I hate all these protests.

Of the people who did something worthy of being arrested, 2 in 5 were already known to be scum bags. Not particularly shocking, scum bags will behave like scum bags.

Lots of ordinary people are frequently participating in protests right now though, and this stat won't be used to dismiss their legitimate concerns. According to YouGov, which tends to skew left, 73% of people think immigration has been too high in the past 10 years. The left has well and truly lost this argument.

If we could get good statistics on the ethnicities of men who physically attack women, I don't know exactly what they'd show. I suspect White British men would fall somewhere in the middle, with some ethnicities more likely to and some less likely to.

But I don't think we talk enough about culture and how that increases the likelihood of different crimes (or other activities). Culture in Britain and the West generally was heading towards greater equality for women and had been for a century. It was largely driven by Northern European cultural momentum. As Britain diversified those cultural pressures began to be diluted and while the momentum continued to build for a while, it eventually became somewhat derailed and other views of women regained some sway with the public.

Which is a long winded way of saying - white men aren't great on this front, that doesn't mean there aren't worse out there or that we should not talk about the way various cultural dimensions (from all the cultures that have an impact in the UK) can lead to normalizing or excusing VAWG.

I've got some stats to hand, from Germany.
From 2017 to 2021, Afghani and Pakistani men were 16x more likely to be accused of rape than German men. Men from the Maghreb were 11x more likely. Men from other EU countries had the same likelihood, but Romanians and Bulgarians were 3x as likely. East Asians (Chinese, Japanese etc) were less likely than German/other EU men to be accused of rape.

I hope people do understand that women in some cultures / religions do not report or discuss the violence, sexual or otherwise, that they are subject to behind closed doors. It’s impossible to accurately understand the level of VAWG in some cultures.
