To think that white British/ American etcmen are just as much a threat to women as migrants?

malificent7 · 08/08/2025 12:47

I am not excusing grooming, paedophile sex rings and unmonitored immigration at all but I hate all these protests.
I know that my white male ex teacher is a sex offender. Not to mention the Epstein scandal.
Aibu to think that ALL men are a danger to women...not just men of different ethnicities/ religions etc?

The majority of visas given to non Europeans are for Indian nationals.

I think the key point to that statement is "visas". India also has a well-functioning bureaucracy, so we can have relative confidence that only men with no criminal record are coming here.

Yes if there’s a visa and a state to ask we can check and vet.

Because we vet Indians arriving here?

That's not the argument. The argument is that men brought up in misogynist cultures will bring their misogyny to the UK and are incapable of acting within the law. They will sexually attack and harass women because that's their 'culture'.

Nobody said ‘all person from X country are incapable of acting within the law’.

We have said the average man coming from a deeply misogynistic country is more likely to be misogynistic.

If they’re not then who is oppressing the women? Can you answer?

I live in the femicide capital of Europe. Its not this way because of immigrants.Sad

So what you’re saying is that just because you come from a misogynist society with high rates of sexual abuse, it doesn't mean that you'll behave like that here.

I've never met a white American whose shot girls going to school but I don't think it's an unheard of phenomenon...

Did the whole queue clap?

Is that sort of comment really necessary?

GrouachMacbeth · 08/08/2025 18:17

One of the comments about the Northern Ireland protests about migrants allegedly raping white girls was that people, mostly men, will protest about migrant men raping, but not about local white men raping. Given womens activism, the all women protests snout the rape of Sarah everard and many many others why do groups like Reclaim the Streets protest about all tapes and murders?

lljkk · 08/08/2025 18:17

oh goody, must be at least 6 hours since the last "We hate men" thread on MN. I was starting to feel deprived...

Did you really type that? I mean sure , they might’ve not been specifically for going to school, but did all the school shootings in America pass you by? Or all the other mass shootings?

Were they part of a government drive to increase school shootings? Were the victims exclusively female? Is the motive for the killing deemed acceptable by the country’s theocracy?

I'm afraid that is the argument if you care to read the thread. That men from misogynist cultures (name a country that isn't), will import their behaviour here. You're well aware that sexual assault is illegal, therefore they're incapable of acting within the law.

One in four women will be abused in the UK and one in three will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime. The people abusing women are misogynists. That's who's oppressing women the world over. Check out the Whitehouse, millions voted for a sex offender.

Yes, of Europe.

I'm fortunate to not live in a country at war or a country actively rolling back women's rights. As you would expect femicide in those countries is off the scale.

My point is that Northern Ireland is the femicide capital of Europe. It is the most dangerous place to be a woman in Europe and that is not down to immigrants and immigration.

What point are you trying to make?

FFS this is just so disingenuous I’d be surprised if you didn’t feel faintly embarrassed writing it.

Let’s do a simple thought experiment.

You can be air dropped into either country - the USA or Afghanistan. Which do you choose?

PandoraSocks · 08/08/2025 18:26

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 08/08/2025 17:48

I think this is all very true.

We have to be both balanced and honest in our approach, and also not let the far right steal the agenda on this issue (which I think is what has happened).

It shouldn’t be a huge ask to expect the same laws to apply to everyone, but apparently it is.

But actually the same laws, without deciding we’re only going to focus on non-white men. It doesn’t seem very surprising that Reform are constantly being found to be committing offences against or at least being offensive to women, whilst banging on about “immigrants threatening our women”.

Tommy Robinson called a woman a slag recently. But he's so concerned about thevsafety of women and girls.

It seems as though you can't counter the argument, so you're talking about air drops.

AnnaBalfour · 08/08/2025 18:27

I’m not sure how they’d calculate percentages of dangerous men in relation to the size of the white/british or American population in comparison with the percentage of men of other nationalities with the UK/USA mainly white population.

But men who are dangerous to women are everywhere unfortunately.

SewNotHappy · 08/08/2025 18:29

As less than 1% of reported sexual assaults lead to a conviction and more than 60% of assaults go unreported, how can anyone possibly draw any conclusions about the ethnicity or anything else of the perpetrators?

JamesMacGill · 08/08/2025 18:30

You can’t counter anything. You can’t even admit men from deeply misogynist countries are more likely to be misogynistic which is a conclusion anyone with half a brain can draw. You’re so wedded to your imaginary view of multiculturalism, and desperate to call everyone racist, that you’re comparing the experiences of women in the UK to women in Afghanistan which is just so deplorable I don’t know how you can hit ‘post’ without feeling a bit nauseated. The epitome of a luxury belief. How would they feel if you said to them ‘oh don’t worry, men are just the same in England?’
