Products they stopped that need to come back

Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

Flex Balsam Shampoo and Conditioner. I know they sell them in home bargains but to me, there's just something not quite original about it.
Body Shop Coconut Hair shine. It came in a tin and made to look like shoe polish.
Trevor Sorbie hair products the polish I think it was called. It was in black packaging and smelled gorgeous!
(Showing my age here) Dimension shampoo. Very distinctive strong perfume to it.

Mydahliasareshit · 04/08/2025 20:20

Oh yes! I have hugely happy memories of weekend mornings with bathroom smelling of Flex.

Mumptynumpty · 04/08/2025 20:23

Lidl passion fruit jam.

Heinz cucumber sandwich spread.

I rarely have bread anymore. Maybe not having these anymore is why.

Quorn change their availability so often. Currently can't get frozen "bacon" or "steak strips" or lots of other stuff. You get a lovely little repertoire of recipes and then they stop making/selling stuff. Grr

Ginlovingmumof4 · 04/08/2025 20:45

Flex shampoo and conditioner. Smelled divine, even though the conditioner looked like custard!

Vesta paella

Vesta beef curry and rice (can sometimes get on Amazon)
Trebor mints, not the extra strong ones, more like Polo mints but no hole
Mr Kiplings Jaffa Cake bars
Fizzy cola Spangles
Walls used to make a choc ice bar that was lemon ice cream covered in a crispy lemon fondant
Caramac
Rosehip syrup, used to be given it daily with cod liver oil
About the time Pot Noodles came out, another firm (? Batchelors) did tubs of beef or chicken curry with rice that you poured boiling water on. I’d love to have those made again, they were delicious

Oh just remembered the chocolate thing, was called a Trio. I remembered the ads before i did the bar, but remember having them in my lunchbox as a kid.

Yes! Trio, Treee-ooh I loved those

Ferrero Fresco Mints

BurntBroccoli · 04/08/2025 22:09

Cabana bars from the 80s. They were divine! For those too young it was a coconut and cherry centre surrounded by caramel, then chocolate.

There is even a Facebook group devoted to the fond memories of it!

There was also one called Eno, haven't seen that one either.

If ever I felt a tad unwell, I used to always take Andrews, hideous stuff but it did seem to make me feel slightly better.

You can make your own Andrew’s liver salts. There’s only 4 ingredients. Recipe is on YouTube if you Google it. Tastes exactly the same and very cheap!

Spiras! The best chocolate bar ever made, and nothing has matched it since. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this 😊.

God, yes! I dream about them. I used to dip them in my coffee when I was a student.

TheGrimSmile · 04/08/2025 22:36

Lyon's cupcakes. They did orange, lemon and chocolate ones. I'd kill for a box now.

Waitrose do chocolate cupcakes in their fresh bakery section .
They are similar and I think nicer.
You get to peel the foil cupcake wrapper off and pick the bits of icing off!

Biotex. It was a pre-soak powder and could get any stain out of anything before Vanish came on the scene.

Biotex is still available in Europe - and there are some stockists in the UK

Ready salted chipsticks.Surely easier to make than salt and vinegar as one less ingredient

Coop sell their own. Just finished a bag!

Oh no, they don't do them anymore?! My family used to get them every week when I was growing up!

Pourtea · 04/08/2025 23:26

@TerrierCollector and @sueelleker thank you. I'm going to look for some tomorrow. And I'm not coming home until I find some :)

Don't know if anyone's mentioned Pacers. No one I speak to seems to remember them. They were same as Opal Fruits/Starburst but mint flavour. They were white with green stripes across them.

We were just talking about these 2 days ago. Both me and hubby (as kids) loved them!

@Lurkingandlearning D&G Light Blue? It’s still made, or do you mean another fragrance by them

The ONLY perfume i wear! I love it!

Pourtea · 04/08/2025 23:45

@Ginlovingmumof4 (I'm one of those too) - I used to love the flex stuff too. I can see it and smell it really vividly.

songbird3086 · 05/08/2025 00:02

tyrozets!! Amazing got throat pain!

bendmeoverbackwards · 05/08/2025 00:20

Kellogg’s Puffa Puffa Rice cereal
Coffee matchmakers
Coffee walnut whips
Walkers spring onion crisps

No one ever remembers these but our school tuck shop used to sell crisps called Chinese spare rib. They came in quite a posh black packet. Late 1980s, anyone remember these?

bendmeoverbackwards · 05/08/2025 00:22

Also in the 80s, Waitrose bakery counter sold the most amazing brownies. Either chocolate or coffee varieties, they had thick icing on top and lots of walnut pieces inside.

x2boys · 05/08/2025 00:34

Has anyone mentioned Ice magic?
It was a product I the 80,s that you poured on top of ice cream it was like a chocolate syrup that hardened on the ice cream 🍦

LooLooT · 05/08/2025 00:44

M&S used to to an amazing veggie enchilada that was in their freezer section, like in the late 90s/early 00 but I still go & check if it’s back!
