I couldn’t sleep last night, worrying about a Reform government

I am really worried. I think they’ll wreck the economy. I’ve got a few years left to pay off my mortgage from my job that deals with immigrants. I don’t want our pensions to tank. I don’t want my sons’ lives to be messed around. I worry about more racism, the more ‘voice’ that Reform get. I live in a very multicultural city and non-white people tell me that they are experiencing more overt racism. It makes me feel very insecure about the future.

wish Labour would do more to show that they are on the side of ordinary people as I think that’s what is driving this (I’m a Labour voter). I don’t think the creation of Your Party will help, just give Reform more advantages.

Sigh. Happy to be told I’m unreasonable as I think the future looks bleak.

I share your concern OP and I struggle to understand how anyone who claims not to be a racist finds Reform appealing. Brexit has been and continues to be an economic disaster, it hasn’t reduced immigration and yet people still want to vote for the brexit party. It would be funny if it weren’t so serious. The only saving grace is I think reform would struggle to form a government- they’re struggling to run councils as they don’t have enough half way competent councillors, and Farage doesn’t like hard work so I can’t for one second imagine him as PM. If you ask them about policy they are utterly clueless.

He threw a hissy fit over what Peter Kyle said the other day. Do you want free speech or not? His councillors are banning books they don’t agree with out of libraries. Free speech or not? He supports a man who is banning student protests and who is detaining people at the borders who have spoken out against him. Free speech or not? It doesn’t only go one way.
