I couldn’t sleep last night, worrying about a Reform government

I am really worried. I think they’ll wreck the economy. I’ve got a few years left to pay off my mortgage from my job that deals with immigrants. I don’t want our pensions to tank. I don’t want my sons’ lives to be messed around. I worry about more racism, the more ‘voice’ that Reform get. I live in a very multicultural city and non-white people tell me that they are experiencing more overt racism. It makes me feel very insecure about the future.

wish Labour would do more to show that they are on the side of ordinary people as I think that’s what is driving this (I’m a Labour voter). I don’t think the creation of Your Party will help, just give Reform more advantages.

Sigh. Happy to be told I’m unreasonable as I think the future looks bleak.

I can think of four Labour councils that have gone bankrupt in the last ten years and others are on the edge. Poor Birmingham, I can't believe how dreadful the streets are looking. There are places there that haven't had a bin collection in nine weeks!

I just hope Rachel Reeves listens to the very smart civil servants in the treasury before her next budget

they need to turn things around if they want to keep the electorate on side.

‘Smart civil servants’.

There’s an oxymoron, if ever there was one.

Wouldn’t you like to know.

Glad you’re following though, you might learn something.

I worry about how Labour are wrecking the economy.
I worry about how much of the tax payers money is being spent in luxury hotels.
I worry about freedom of speech being taken away.
I worry about all the imported violence.

Tory and labour have been useless. I think Reform deserve a chance.

Edited

You worry about imported violence, are you not worried about the violence being displayed by whipped up right wing hate as last summer I found that rather unsettling.

EasternStandard · 01/08/2025 14:21

Goldenbear · 01/08/2025 14:14

Not the obsession with migrants again, jeez is this all many of you think about in your daily lives...

The pp also said the economy and unemployment under Labour. That is a problem for many, maybe not their biggest supporters for some reason, but most others.

Of course its possible to be worried about both.

Thinking its one or the other isnt helpful.

Not really no, that's why I put an exclamation mark at the end of the sentence rather than a question mark.

If Reform get in, the only people responsible will be those who chose to vote for them.

Sure. Hope that makes you feel better about the very real possibility of a Reform government.

Oh the fabled right wing, Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me! Funny that Labour so love to label anyone who disagrees with them far right and a bigot or fascist.

This is exactly what the shitty government has brought to the table.

I just believe grown adults should take full accountability for their own decisions.

Exactly Labour are overseeing this and causing it.

That is your fictional interpretation of what I posted and in fact I'm don't actually know what your point is but the only victims I hear and read of is those that vote for Reform, constant whining and whaling about what they are owed by society and has been taken from them by 'immigrants' when in actual fact no one owes you a living mate!

PandoraSocks · 01/08/2025 14:29

So much anger on this thread.

Y'all need to be careful of your blood pressures. You have four more years of Labour. I am sure you don't want to risk kicking the bucket before you can vote for the not-so-fragrant Farage.

So people haven't got a right to be angry?
Do you forget all the anger threads about the Tories??

The nation is angry, in some places it is feeling like a tinderbox and Starmer et al ignoring that are making it worse.

Those threads weren't constantly spewing racist hate and anger IIRC.

I think YABU a bit in your position.

How do you think it feels to be extremely left-wing and working for local government in a Reform council, because I think that's a lot worse than you have it!

I'm not spewing racist hate but I'm fucking fuming.
So only hate on subjects which you approve on is acceptable? Only you approved topics of hate are acceptable? Now who/what does that remind me of.........some recently passed Act.....🤔

Well, yes, I expect some people are angry, don't you? People were told that Labour would be the grown ups back in charge, they'd care for the vulnerable, grow the economy, they'd listen to people's concerns, they were going to smash the gangs, reducing illegal immigration with a special task force, they were going to build 1.5 million homes.

Meh you survived your many anti Tory posts and threads.

Even now when Labour are actually in.
