Lighthearted!! Just that really. I love hearing these

ill start:

went on a date with someone and we played shuffleboard and after every turn of his he would loudly exclaim 'GO ON THE TSG' (his initials) he also did it after random sentences like 'I'll get this drink, YES THE TSG)

another guy would say WOOP WOOP and BOOM after every sentence. He ordered a steak and said to the waiter 'I'm going to have the steak please, well done, (another ick) WOOP WOOP

Another guy we were DTD and he kept thrusting in a complete circular motion and I quite literally dried up and left

another DTD time and the guys top lip and nostrils would spasm / quiver - I could get past that though.

please tell me yours, I could do with a laugh!

An ex came to bed wearing just a T shirt. Seeing a grown man with his genitals on full view while simultaneously dressed like a toddler escaping the potty was a pivotal moment in that relationship.

At the end of any statement/question saying “isn’t it, Missedthis, isn’t it?”

It honestly nearly moved me to violence, but I settled for saying “No, it fucking isn’t” and leaving.

Omg I’m creased up with these but this one .. 😂😂 moved me to violence 🤣

Jesus. I thought this was all one guy until your last line.

😂

cadburyegg · 01/08/2025 11:24

WTAF!?!??

Oh dear lord and the one that cried when he came on my leg after 10 secs was the worst I could come up with.

ThatsABitExcessive · 01/08/2025 12:23

One guy I’d been talking to online - met up for a first date and he’d printed out a picture of my dog and wrote on it “to a lovely lady”

Wondered who it was to as I certainly ain’t no lady 😂

another guy - we met up at an American diner type thing and he emptied his wallet on to the table to work out whether he could afford a starter or not.

Another one - DTD and as he went to penetrate he said “let’s get that right in there… “ 🤮

Another one - I didn’t like the shape of his legs or the way he walked

Another one - told me his feet are freezing in the winter - it wasn’t so much what he said, it was the whiny girly way in which he said it. I dumped that one quicker than all the others 😂

OMG I am HOWLING at this 😂

Craics90 · 01/08/2025 12:24

Fancied the pants of this one, until we went on a couple of dates leading up to DTD and he ran his hand up my leg to the tune of and sang 'Incy Wincy Spider'. 🤮

ConnieHeart · 01/08/2025 12:31

I dated this boy when I was around 16. One evening we got v drunk on cheap cider in a group. I ended up snogging him. Next day I woke up and the skin around my mouth was killing me, red & sore but I couldn't work out why. Next time I kissed him realised the painful reason. When kissing, he would open his mouth and sink his teeth into my skin. Ie, his kiss was actually a bite! He dumped me fairly early on. He then went in to date one of my school mates. She came to school with red marks around her mouth, poor girl!

Alifemoreordinary123 · 01/08/2025 12:38

@SharpLily 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ‘full London eye’ - i was on the phone to IT when I read that and laughed out loud

Told me that his mission in life and main focus is to become a tory MP and that his future wife will need to be somewhat right wing.

😬Yikes!

At least he told you before you were in too deep!

If I may on that basis.

Fake tan. Just no, there was one date where she hadn't cleaned her hands properly afterwards, it was like a molten metal swirl pattern.

Dates where I'm genuinely looking forward to the food at the restaurant I agonised over choosing only for them to order a small salad. (When I met my DW, on our first date she ordered the Sausage and Mash with a side of onion rings. Keeper, right there.)

One date which I was genuinely dissapointed about, lovely drinks out and a film, getting on like a house on fire, went for the kiss at the end....... It was like the wind was collectively removed from both our sails. Once the kiss finished, a quick mutual 'Bye,' parted ways and never even messaged again. Just didn't feel at all right. A real shame as she was stunning.

As an aside, where I used to live in Coventry there was a horribly rough pub that I used as my date fallback plan. If it wasn't going well but they felt it was I would take them there. 2 out of three times they politely made excuses and left at that point. I probably am in an ick comment somewhere further back on that basis. The one that didn't run away, turns out her family all frequented it and I didn't realise!

Edited

Good to hear from men on this, as it's something I've wondered about—do men get the ick?

Someone upthread mentioned Chandler and the mascara goop in Friends, but didn't he go on further dates and still sleep with her? Proper ick means revulsion to the point of hardly being able to be in the presence of the person.

Your examples @SaintNoMountainHighEnough seem more like disappointments at incompatibility than the ick, which is visceral, sometimes irrational and impossible to get past. Do men experience this in the same way?

Women often get the ick when men do or say things that suddenly make them seem like toddlers, e.g. baby talk, but a lot of men like infantilised women, which is pretty fucked up.

Rallentanda · 01/08/2025 12:43

Went to his flat and there were 2-litre Lilt bottles lying around, filled with piss.

I did not and do not understand why anyone would do that, let alone leave them out. To impress me? Fucking weirdo.

Yes, Chandler just didn't have the balls to end it with her despite getting the ick

I think, for me at least there is no outright ick. Aside from the fake tan. That was just minging.

Generally there's an early sense of yes/no. But, the kiss with the stunning girl, there was an ick there. It was like kissing a sister. Just felt as wrong as it was disappointing.

DiscoBob · 01/08/2025 12:51

This was my mate's FWB. As usual it was all back to mine after extensive drinking etc and at one point it looked like we might have a semi- threesome.

We were all joking about and we got the guy to put on this tiny white butterfly print negligee of mine, thinking he'd say no. He was a 6'7 rugby player...

He absolutely relished in the chance. He got really horny and starting jumping about the room, wearing this microscopic thing with his dick holding the fabric aloft, yelling 'tvist my NIPPLE' in a heavy South African accent.

We both just burst out laughing and the 'three way' was promptly cancelled. 🤣

Judiezones · 01/08/2025 12:54

First serious boyfriend, he was a few years older than me. He'd casually mentioned in a roundabout way that he was very experienced sexually and everywhere we went he seemed to have had sex there, either in the car or in a dark lane/field/under a hedge.
After a few months, first time DTD, he suddenly burst into tears and confessed he was a virgin. My desire departed, not because of his lack of experience, but because of the lies.

DramaAlpaca · 01/08/2025 12:55

He wore horrible baggy white Y-fronts. I decided to let that go as he was fun and the sex was good.

Then I found out his mum bought his underwear. Instant ick.

Interesting, maybe you were related and didn't know it?

Quite often the ick in women seems to be rooted in some kind of primal incest revulsion.

There are certain types of faces that give me the ick, and I have no idea why. I think of them as pointy-faced men—the actor Adam Scott is one, and I found it really hard to buy into the Ben and Leslie relationship in Parks and Rec because of it.

RabbitsRock · 01/08/2025 13:00

Great thread! I always said I could write a book about some of the dates I had before DH but wasn’t cruel enough. Oh dear, there were some corkers! One guy talked to me about his belt buckle, which I had made the huge mistake of admiring ,for at least 20 minutes! In fact he held court on just about everything, even the sugar cubes on the table! So many of the guys I met talked solely about themselves & didn’t show any interest in me at all - massive turn off. With another guy, it was the way he spoke about his Mum & that he seemed proud that he had never bought her a bunch of flowers 😢

I’m really funny about hairy men or men that women would class as classically handsome (desperate dan looking) with strong jawline and stubble. Perhaps that’s it.

Guy (devout Catholic) who said women belong solely in the kitchen and home, and then said went on a rant about how abortion is akin to murder yada yada. Needless to say, the date was cut short. Awful.

LifeonMarss · 01/08/2025 13:15

said he wanted to cuddle up like kittens, still cringe thinking about it a decade on
