Immigration population up another 700k

1000 replies

Atallglassimdof · 30/07/2025 23:35

I understand that this country needs immigration but if you import 100,000s of low skilled workers, in their 30s and 40s, how are they going to fund their retirement or pay for their housing?

It just seems counterintuitive to bring loads of people into this country who will need considerable financial support ( housing benefits, pension credits) when they are no longer able to work, and don’t have the means to support themselves.

Anyway good night, its basically impossible to persuade a Reform UK supporter as they don't tend to believe in statistics.

Statistics 😆

The irony of you complaining that there will be nobody to look after them when they are old when they are the ones who are looking after our old people now (virtually all care home workers are immigrants).

Which is why a lot of care homes are so awful. We need care workers to be qualified - ie have a good education and good training, and not on minimum wage. It says a lot that we’re happy for our elderly to be cared for by people with poor command of English, unskilled and poorly educated, and presumably we have no idea of their background or experience because they’ve no work history in the UK.

Come on now, be a sport. Let’s have some more. Your understanding of what counts as a source and what should inform public opinion is genuinely hilarious.

It's better than making up stuff that can't be backed up by sources of any type because, well, you made it up.

AlertEagle · 31/07/2025 23:39

Excuses and excuses to why locals cant do these types of jobs. Its always someone elses fault isnt it.

I’m not sure that being unable to even use Google properly is a flex. But it certainly provides entertainment to others.

Unfortunately they don't have cars with logos on, they have the same work tops on, but without getting up close and personal I couldn't see which firm. They sit in their cars one behind the other with their windows open whilst I'm walking my dog so I can hear their conversations ( and I do understand several languages) can't work out a word! 😂

Could you not speak to the gentleman or his relatives or your LA social services? If they are not providing the care they are being paid for that is abuse.

So they shout at each other through their respective car windows? How odd. You would think one of them would get out of their car and into the other's.

Rocket1982 · 31/07/2025 23:03

umm, build more housing? It's not rocket science.

It’s not as simple of just throwing a few thousand extra houses up. You’ve also got to look at whether the infrastructure can support the extra houses being built. More schools, GP surgeries, hospitals will be needed. If it was just a case of building more houses, don’t you think successive governments over the last couple of decades would have invested in that?! So yes, it kind of is ‘rocket science’.

Yes I could but tbh his wife is pretty much disinterested, in his care 😔 he's unable to help himself (if you know what I mean) and we have no LA provider for home care it's all private, no they don't shout at each other, I think ( as when they talk to each other they speak the same language) they go back to their respective cars and then are on their phones to someone else individually who speaks the same language as them? Perhaps they are family?

It doesn't matter who is providing the care. If the man is not being properly taken care of you can report it.

HeyThereDelila · 31/07/2025 23:56

YANBU. The consequences of all this will be horrendous in the next couple of generations. Millions of people with no shared heritage and past, very different cultural values and hell to pay as the white working class rightly lash out at becoming a minority in their own country.

Atallglassimdof · 30/07/2025 23:46

Not saying they are all low skilled workers but a fair number are… care home workers for example.

You know there is a serious shortage of care workers, right?

It’s overwhelmingly immigration; increasing birth rates is only a small proportion of the increase.

Source please?

1.Main points
Borrowing - the difference between total public sector spending and income - was £20.7 billion in June 2025; this was £6.6 billion more than in June 2024 and the second-highest June borrowing since monthly records began in 1993, after that of June 2020.

The interest payable on central government debt was £16.4 billion in June 2025, largely because the interest payable on index-linked gilts rises and falls with the Retail Prices Index; this was £8.4 billion more than in June 2024 and the second-highest June central government interest payable since monthly records began in 1997, after that of June 2022.

Borrowing in the financial year to June 2025 was £57.8 billion; this was £7.5 billion more than in the same three-month period of 2024 and the third-highest April to June borrowing since monthly records began, after those of 2020 and 2021.

The current budget deficit - borrowing to fund day-to-day public sector activities - was £16.3 billion in June 2025; this was £7.1 billion more than in June 2024 and the third-highest June current budget deficit since monthly records began in 1997, after those of 2020 and 2022.

The current budget deficit in the financial year to June 2025 was £44.5 billion; this was £6.5 billion more than in the same three-month period of 2024 and the third-highest April to June current budget deficit since monthly records began, after those of 2020 and 2021.

Public sector net debt excluding public sector banks was provisionally estimated at 96.3% of gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of June 2025; this was 0.5 percentage points more than at the end of June 2024 and remains at levels last seen in the early 1960s.

Public sector net financial liabilities excluding public sector banks were provisionally estimated at 83.8% of GDP at the end of June 2025; this was 2.2 percentage points more than at the end of June 2024, but 12.5 percentage points less than for public sector net debt.

Central government net cash requirement (excluding UK Asset Revolution Ltd and Network Rail) was £15.8 billion in June 2025; this was £1.3 billion more than in June 2024.

It's all going so well isn't it.

You seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be stalking people who can well be on their lunch break? Jheez when you are a foreigner you dont ever have to worry about being alone because there’s always a citizen all up in your business.

Can kinda guess that you have no idea of what real world is like. Probably fitting every cliche about a liberal white saviour living in a bubble shouting ‘racist’ at everyone who has a different opinion.

Not even aware of the irony that you are shouting racist at someone themselves is an immigrant. But of course unless people like you are infantilizing immigrants, telling them to act brown and victims in equal measure, it doesn’t satisfy your moral superiority complex, does it.

What does it mean to act brown? You continue to confirm that you are racist and you are blind to it because you dont see anything wrong with anything you say. But its kl i know its just the internet you would never say any of this in real life because you know you cant

There's a lot of room to increase housing capacity without building all over the countryside 🙄

Yes. If only councils agreed with you.

As others have said it’s not that simple but is your argument we should just keep increasing the population by this amount each year every year?

Bingo. Run out of anything useful to say, so call someone racist. Try harder.

Grow123 · 01/08/2025 08:10

My question is, that if the problems are people from specific countries why not make the rules apply to them and then have different rules to people from countries that are not considered as a risk of abusing the system? This is already done with tourist visas and there is a list of countries which citizens don't need a proof of funds for certain types of more permanent visas.

If the purpose is to keep certain people out, wouldnt it be just easier? It would be a PR nightmare, but I understand it to be legally possible. I feel like I've had quite a few "we don't mean immigrants like you" conversations. Obviously quite a few also talk about me, so don't worry, I'm out of the country now so not straining anyone anymore (yet).

As for the university. Universities survive on foreign students. They really should have less universities and foreign students swiping for each other is absolutely true. I once forgot my card and couldnt swipe and was so stressed out and then the lecturer said it didn't really matter cause (pre-brexit) i didn't have a student visa.

MaturingCheeseball · 01/08/2025 08:27

@Rocket1982 - please provide a figure of how much house building is necessary in your view? If, say, 1 million new people arrive every year, with many being single men, should they all be “given” a house? That would be an awful lot of houses. Plus, as others have said, with the associated infrastructure: roads, sewerage, power, doctors etc etc.

There was a demonstration in Leeds in which migrant people housed in hotels were demanding houses (obviously aided and abetted by their cheerleaders). Do you believe every country in the world should provide housing for new arrivals? Do you think they do now?
