OK, so they go to Downing Street to celebrate their win with the high and mighty of the land ... But who the f**k thought that combination of baggy trousers, grey, black, long shorts, low heeled shoes, a bit of white here and there was The Look?

Are they trying make them look like men because women's football shouldn't be allowed? Did any of them have the opportunity to say "actually, those big, baggy trousers don't suit me"? Because they don't for a lot of them...

Yes, they won the Euros! Fabulous!
But the topic is about the badly fitting outfits and people are allowed an opinion.
They deserved better stylists. They were let down by M&S.

They are representing the country. They should look smart. Tailored navy trousers or tailored shorts would look better than baggy beige.

Winning the European cup was a superb representation of the country. Their clothes are irrelevant.
Why is it that women so often attack other women on grounds of fashion and appearance? Male commentators stuck to the girls' performance and skills; women couldn't wait to start criticising the European champions for how they look.

How do you know it's a woman? Plenty of men post on here.

What I liked about that Downing Street photo was the way they had each put their own individual choice in to mixing up the items from the team uniform, so they gave the photo some spontaneity and a sense of fun.
They were still clearly a team, but they were also individuals. I thought it it was so much more interesting than having them dressed like a row of identically dressed air hostesses, which is so often the case with team photos.

The event itself seems to have been quite informal, meeting the Deputy Prime Minister, held in the garden of Number 10. So their clothes were appropriate for that setting.

I also liked that so many of them were wearing flat shoes, not teetering along in stilettos.

Yes I liked that too.

It doesn't sound like a man.although it could be, I suppose. If it is a man he's been hanging round here too and picking up bad habits!

This thread is embarrassing, particularly the OP.

It was a great achievement, always nice to see some sporting inspiration.

SammyScrounge · 29/07/2025 06:44

'Too long' I meant to say!

WestwardHo1 · 29/07/2025 06:55

Honestly???

And what did you think of the tournament and the final?

I fucking despair.

Rocknrollstar · 29/07/2025 06:56

Those trousers are bang on trend and very comfortable . I’d love to know where they come from.

TaupeLemur · 29/07/2025 06:57

They look great. The end.

Marks and Spencer's apparently.

sashh · 29/07/2025 06:59

They looked fab.

Viviennemary · 29/07/2025 07:01

I looked up these photographs. The clothes are very unflattering. Like prison issud garments. They're dreadful.

EviesHat · 29/07/2025 00:04

A choice?

Lucky coincidence that the whole team favour baggy trousers, ill-fitting jackets, and longline waistcoats without blouses in a palette of black and greeny beige. They also all seem to have exactly the same taste in shoes. Given the way M&S shoes fit they must all have fairly wide feet too. 🙄

Haha if you actually look on their personal Instagrams a lot of them actually do! Keira Walsh, Lucy Bronze, Lauren James, Leah Williamson and Alex Greenwood are often seen wearing exactly that!
They're quite vocal about their love of fashion

solando · 29/07/2025 07:06

Maybe they should have worn old fashioned fitted trouser suit with heels from the old days. They look nice and modern and comfortable.

Strawberrri · 29/07/2025 07:13

Someone famous probably designed it for them - or gifted them the clothing for the advertising.

MySaintedAunt · 29/07/2025 07:20

I honestly wouldn't have cared if they turned up in jeans.
Let's not go down the path of reducing women to their appearance again. They are sports women who've achieved something unique. That's comment worthy, not their clothing.

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 29/07/2025 07:22

I thought they looked great!! Fresh and modern. Absolutely love the long trousers and waistcoat combo.

GottaGoToWorkTomorrow · 29/07/2025 07:23

I think they look great. They could wear bin liners and still look great.

QuaintPanda · 29/07/2025 07:26

I wondered why the female BBC commentators were wearing badly-fitting suits (apart from the lady in brown and white), then saw the team photo. I‘d originally assumed it was just the latest cut and fashion had again passed me by, then saw the team photo and realised there must be something bigger at play. This one is on Marks and Sparks.

I don’t ‘expect’ us ladies to wear tight-fitting stuff, but those suits and similar all gave the impression the ladies had borrowed off their mums (and dads!) and the clothes just didn’t fit. A bit like the first interview suit of yore.

Strawberrri · 29/07/2025 07:27

Possibly it's to avoid all the misogynistic social media posts - by wearing stuff that's loose.

gerispringer · 29/07/2025 07:30

I didn’t like the beige colour( and I’m a gran) , but the style and mix and match idea I thought was good. I wonder what those critics would have chosen or designed? Bodycon dresses and high heels? Hot pants and boob tubes?

Damnloginpopup · 29/07/2025 07:31

No hats! Where are the hats!

GottaGoToWorkTomorrow · 29/07/2025 07:31

Maybe they just wanted to wear something loose and comfortable after all their hard work on the pitch and the partying afterwards? They have achieved something great. Their faces are beaming with pride and they’re wearing the most genuine smiles. Nothing looks better than that!
