To think the Lionesses' Outfits in this Picture are Ridiculous?

OK, so they go to Downing Street to celebrate their win with the high and mighty of the land ... But who the f**k thought that combination of baggy trousers, grey, black, long shorts, low heeled shoes, a bit of white here and there was The Look?

Are they trying make them look like men because women's football shouldn't be allowed? Did any of them have the opportunity to say "actually, those big, baggy trousers don't suit me"? Because they don't for a lot of them...

Exactly. I'm mid 30's and love this style. I wear it to work and on weekends. Trousers all the way!

Exactly THIS. What a missed opportunity. I like
the color pallet but the fit and cut are horrendous and it’s not good enough for the Lionesses’ brilliance.

But ... but ... someone up thread declared that this a horrible look, so that's that really. It's almost as though people can't like different things or something. 🤷

The fit and cut is in fashion

One persons horrendous is another persons perfection - there is no need to impose a particular style or fashions as right and nice

I love those waistcoat style tops I've quite a few.

I'm not looking at what they're wearing - I'm looking at the absolute joy on their faces.

They are not about clothes. They are about talent, persistence, team work, determination, positive mind set - all the good shit.

Of course, a horrible look and trying to look like MEN no less! 😂

I'm trying to put my finger on why the trousers in particular look so bad. I think it's to do with the cut, and a fabric that doesn't drape well, resulting in 'bunching'...plus a slightly too-short leg length, and a pale colour hovering above black shoes/trainers... it just goes to show that details and styling can make even well-honed athletic bodies look stumpy.

I'm not making a political statement, I don't believe women have to look 'feminine', and I'm not interested in men's fashion so I don't care what they wear. I'm just intrigued why these particular outfits don't work.

Funnily enough I was looking at the M&S website last night and was very pleasantly surprised - they've got some great things at the moment, best collection for ages IMO.

They are wearing sportswear on the bus no sign of hems yet !

Well, since you ask, I do think the trousers look a bit - not quite right.

I don't think anyone has said they expected dresses The comments about dresses seem to be only sneery ones along the lines of 'what do you think they should be wearing, sexy dresses?'

I shudder to think about the hems on the shorts.

They are bloody horrible outfits to be fair.

As an aside, I'm watching the parade and getting extremely emotional. Massive turn-out, and all those women and girls in the crowd.

It’s not my personal style but I think they look great. Smart and comfortable and relaxed.

Also, fashions change. I think today’s fashion can be a bit difficult for those of us who are over a certain age and were raised on a diet of heels and bodycon dresses to understand.
