One million immigrants claiming benefits

1000 replies

AnxiousApocalypse · 16/07/2025 01:15

Just been reading the comments sections of the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail articles about the one million foreigners claiming benefits in the UK. It feels like the final nail in the coffin and a lot of people will feel even more justified in expressing their anger and hate towards immigrants. What happens when Reform win the next general election and come into power? Will people be rounded up en masse and put in detention centres like the USA?

To quote Kemi Badendoch - ‘not all cultures are equally valid’.

If a culture is based upon hatred of all those other than themselves, and a phobia is an irrational fear or hatred, then fear of the culture that hates you and your kind is not irrational and is therefore not a phobia.

WhenYouSayNothingAtAll · 16/07/2025 21:58

Soo.. to recap.
Brown people are bad.
Eastern Europeans are bad.
Some immigrants are ok, as long as they don’t claim anything and aren’t too obviously “forrin”.

Got it.

Anyone who wants to come here and contribute and obey our laws and not hate us is good. Anyone who comes here to take everything they can and hate us in the process is bad. Got it?

Wait...what culture is "based upon hatred of all those other than themselves"??

Look up the quote from Kemi.

But it is ok for you to hate those other than yourself?

Yes asylum seekers are not allowed to work while their claims are being processed. Most would love to work.

The challenge with this is that usually need to be able to speak English to be able to work legally (as opposed to cash in hand)

I work with many families who after being here for 5 years plus still are apparently unable to speak English and still state that they need an interpreter.

I absolutely agree we need to offer genuine asylum seeking families a safe place, but there does need to be a time limit on getting a job, learning English etc.

Look up the quote from Kemi.

Why? She’s wrong, that’s like saying some people are worth more than others. It’s beyond belief that the leader of a major political party would come out with something like that. Particularly one who’s an immigrant.

Changingforthisthread123 · 16/07/2025 22:04

There are places where if I go there and I’m raped, and married to someone other than my rapist, I will get put in prison.

Personally, I have a deep fear of this. And therefore would never travel there on principal.

I do not care about the colour of anyone’s skin, I have an open mind to religion even though it’s not my thing. I respect everyone’s right to have any belief they want.

But I’m not keen on women being treated badly. And people who hate me because I’m from a western culture.

I’m not a fan of you if you hate me because of my nationality.

English classes were cut as a direct result of reduction in funding by previous governments.
Waiting lists are long for those waiting for a spot in a class.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 16/07/2025 22:08

They want to learn English. They want to contribute.

Many are highly skilled professionals with their lives on hold until they get their status.

Ethelflaedofmercia · 16/07/2025 22:10

How can all of this be solved? It’s clearly a drain on the taxpayer.

my uncle had no recourse to public funds, yet his sister came over 3 years later and has social housing, benefits and pip for her husband. How? My uncle now works in the airports but his sister and husband haven’t worked since arriving over 10 years ago.

They started a few anti immigration threads last night.

Please can you provide some proof that "so called natives" are sitting around for generations in council houses and refusing to work. Seems like a massively racist generalisation about the working classes to me.

You mean the 'working class' that don't actually work!

Next time you go to a festival or a football match, notice who provides all the security and who cleans up the mess left behind. Who picks your asparagus and strawberries and who provides you with health care when you need it. Who drives your buses and Ubers and delivers your pizza. Then notice that these people are not white.

How do you know which Muslims are cool with westerners, peaceful and accepting and which are anti-west, want sharia law in this country etc? You are speaking about the ‘culture’ as one homogenous group.

There are all sorts of muslims, liberal and orthodox. And then again they can be further subdivided by their own interpretations with regards to the west, their attitude to women, loans etc. it depends on the person. They are not all the same hive mind. You don’t seem able to see that.

Not all Muslims hate you. You won’t even cross the mind of most of them, I am sorry to say!

Do people actually feel intimated by foreign languages and foreign food shops?

I just don't understand why.

And that’s perfect. Muslims do not cross my mind, neither does any religion or person I do not know other than when I hear something horrible.

Unfortunately there is a current PR problem in that the vocal persons claiming to represent a certain religion are saying quite radical things on camera.

Coupled with lots of micro scandals, the public being whipped into a frenzy, and this unequal ‘two tier’ justice, the vocal few seem to represent the masses and very few are coming forward to refute.

I beg that none of you go on twitter. It’s a horrible place that fills you with horrible stuff.

So you acknowledge that there are lots of ordinary Muslims around. Who don’t hate the west and don’t want to convert the world to Islam. They are just normal people like you living their lives.

The biggest threat from extremist Muslims is to ordinary Muslims in their own countries. Look at Afghanistan, Iran and Syria etc. Please see that.

And stay away from Twitter.

Changingforthisthread123 · 16/07/2025 22:29

I have had far more to do with people of Muslim faith than most. There was never anything worse than a basic misogyny that I had assumed was generational.

The things that keep happening, the videos that I see are real people speaking their own truth, it’s very scary. No matter how few in number there are people who wish us harm and they seem to have commonality.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 16/07/2025 22:31

It's a cover-up, focus on immigrants instead of the government failing to run the country.
Immigrants claim a fraction of what sick pay fakers get.
