Instances where you’ve been the cheeky fucker

I’m ashamed to say that I was a cheeky fucker last week.

Son finished up in Y6 and most of the year headed to the park with parents. I was working so went to pick up but couldn’t go to the park so he asked if he could go to the park with the rest of his year/parents which I agreed to.
Got busy at work so forgot the time but knew someone else’s mum would just take him to their house until I eventually was able to leave work (wfh). The other mum didn’t mind at all, (not that I left her much choice really) but it was very entitled of me to assume that someone would look after him. I am rarely this parent but I fell short on this occasion and recognised my CF behaviour immediately.

Aibu to ask you to make me feel better with your own tales of cheeky fuckery?

I also live in a little village with a school. I don't see the issue here at all in Year 6. Surely they would either wander home or stay in the park? Why did they need to go home with someone else?

By the age of 10 I was getting a tram to my grandmothers house and no one thought anything of it. From 11 I was walking two miles to school. Ive seen threads here where kids of 14/15 have never used public transport or been into a shop to make a purchase on their own. No wonder we have a generation of young people who are too stressed to do a job.

Maybe I have been? But it’s not a concept I recognise-on Mumsnet it seems just to mean the give and take that keeps society moving. I help you-you help me.I can’t imagine circumstances where I would have a problem with doing what you asked. Mumsnet seems to equate doing anyone a favour with donating a kidney!

Totally agree.
The number of times I've made a last minute call for someone to collect my kids cos I'm late, MN would think I'm awful.
Yesterday I woman I know through our kids popped by and said hi. Her kids walked iny house to my kids (they don't know each other) and played randomly for 10 minutes. It was cute but I can imagine the MN froth over uninvited guests and people wandering into your home etc.

Driving home from a week away a few years ago, road works had us take a different route and we came across a hotel with a big outdoor area by a lake. Lovely spot to stop, let the kids run around and have something to eat.
Went in a side door with a set of stairs and could smell food from there so up we went and into a room with a hot buffet laid out, got our plates and filled up with a lovely roast. Me DH and 3 kids, sat and ate and as they were itching to get out and play we finished up fairly quick, I sent DH on out with them and I went to pay.
Couldn't spot a till, asked one of the women behind the table where I could pay.
This is where I wanted the ground to swallow me up!!!
It was funeral meal. I couldn't pay😳
I was mortified and tried to get the woman to take my money to put towards it, she laughed and told me it was fine as it was a set price and there was more than enough to go around.
I legged it out to DH and while the boys were playing away with another group of kids I told him, he roared laughing while I'm busy telling him it's not funny and what if the grieving family had spotted us and were thinking "Who the hell are they? cheeky fuckers helping them selves"
Elderly woman beside us started laughing and told me not to worry it was fine and that I had made her laugh for the first time in several days.
She was the deceased persons widow. The bill payer😳

This was supposed to be when you have been a CF. If you call it that I have been waiting for a tradesman to come and finish some plastering which was included in a quote I had and was happy to pay for as it was almost finished - big job, £6 grands worth but this little job not finished. They have kept me waiting for 3 months and was driving me mad keep asking. They should have come last week and never appeared, once again, so I did it myself, not hard from youtube, then I billed them for the work. Told them I would put it everywhere and not give them any good reviews for the good work they had done. Result - £150 refund.

My Y2 DD had a birthday party which was hosted by a Chinese family at a party centre and they were all sat eating McDonalds Happy Meals. I had my Y6 DS with me, but I told him he couldn't join the party as it was rude. We would eat a bit later.

I saw some whispering then the father appeared with another Happy Meal and I noticed my enormous DS sat at the table like Elf with all the other children.

So embarrassing. Such CF'ery from DS.

This has really made me laugh 😂
