To wonder if there'll be a revolt?

In the country that's stretched to its limits, today it was announced that Keir has agreed with Mr Macron that just 50 illegal migrants per week will be sent away.

I know so many people are totally fed up with the state of the country.

Will there be protests?

If we take feelings out of it, this is quite poignant.

Stats around social housing, welfare and other markers are now starting to show that immigration is a net drain now as opposed to a benefit. One number that I always remember is London social housing is taken by 47% foreigners. Crazy.

Edited

A “net” drain? Really? For that to be true, for every two people living in social housing, there would have to be one who is earning well above the average wage. The statistics don’t bear out your “findings”.

To wonder if there'll be a revolt?
mumda · 11/07/2025 13:48

LadyKenya · 09/07/2025 21:29

Maybe any revolt should be about the tiny percentage of people, hoarding most of the wealth, that would at least make sense. I won't hold my breath though.

You have to be very careful suggesting it's Ok to take money from the very rich.

Once we've established what kind of person you are, we have to assess how rich someone has to be before you want to remove their wealth by force.

I don’t agree with riots but to mock those who are angry foreign men raped a native British child isn’t great optics. Women and girls are often sacrifices on the altar of diversity.

We have high rates of femicide and rape so why would you import more of it? And if you do accidentally let someone in who commits a heinous crime, why are the majority allowed to stay? It baffles the mind.

edit - image under review but based on available data

Per Capita Comparison:
• Foreign nationals: 4.6 / 10,000 = 0.046%.
• Native British: 2.66 / 10,000 = 0.0266%.
• Foreign nationals are ~71% more likely to be convicted of sexual offenses per capita (0.046% vs. 0.0266%).

Are you from Northern Ireland?

It was an absolute disgrace the way some members of the public behaved.

They attacked anyone, based only on skin colour. Not due to their behaviour.

Yes it started due to an attack on a young girl but that was purely an excuse.

I live 30 miles away from where the incident happened and they rioted for 3 days, burning innocent families out of houses and throwing bricks at cars and police. They attacked a black Dr who was born here who lives in my street....for being black I suppose.

It's the same areas that incite violence at every opportunity. Brexit, the union flag not being flown, sea boarder. And as ever it always stops when the weather turns.....rain must wash away racism.

There have been 27 women murdered in NI since 2020, there has been no rioting in response to any of their murders.

ChillPills · 11/07/2025 13:34

And this is good/ ok/bad? What point are you trying to prove with your stat?

BoredZelda has illustrated the point beautifully.

LuckyShark · 11/07/2025 13:59

BTW I am very much mocking those who rioted in Northern Ireland as without a doubt they are involved in paramilitary activity.

30 years after the ceasefire and with the majority of the people in the country wanting times to move on.

These people are scum

So, you think it's a good thing then it seems. Let's hope your children or children's children will never rely on social housing then. All great! Nothing to see here.

Wow! Your empathy is reserved for only one group then - immigrants? Find yourself ill or disabled or homeless or on the bones of your arse, tough, deal with it and happily let an immigrant skip ahead of you into social housing, whilst you're in your cardboard box! Thanks for being transparent and not playing the game of word salad though. Makes you wonder why people take issue with the hard left.

I am not sure why you feel the need to attack me.

All I did was provide some important context to your claim that "London social housing is taken by 47% foreigners" (sic). Why does that make you so angry?

Also, what makes you think I am "hard left"?

You think that engaging in debate and anyone disagreeing with your pov is ' personal attack'? Bloody hell, heard it all now!

I didn't make claims about London social housing, see pp input. But I did clarify your ethics. You stated your children would never need social housing, how fortunate for them. But I personally care about those who DO and don't carry the luxury of privilege. I question the fairness of the system as it stands.

I don't have children, which is why I gave the answer I did.

Eta: my ethics are fine thanks.

Angela Rayner has been suspended by Unite the Union over the Birmingham bin strike.

The union has also announced it will review its relationship with the Labour Party.

Unite, one of Labour’s biggest financial backers, voted on Friday to suspend the Deputy Prime Minister, accusing her of backing a councilthat had “peddled lies”.
It is understood that Ms Rayner believes she had already resigned her membership of the union some months ago, and does not think she is currently a member.

LOVELY.

Good. Absolutely nothing on this. At least there are repercussions for Labour.

100% ES - just wait for the Labour ‘turd polishers’ to rock up.

Apologies for the imagery.

Fact check: Foreign-born people, not necessarily foreigners, occupy 48% of London’s social housing | Reuters https://share.google/LO2aWBTabKsP9WnM9

Just because a British born person resides in the same household does not take away from the fact a foreign born person is taking social housing stock. It counteracts the claim that all migrants are contributors to the system in my opinion. This stat can also include the children they had who are now British.

Either way, during a housing crisis which is set to only get worse. It’s not ‘ideal’.

We need 300,000 houses a year and that’s not taking into account social housing. It’s not sustainable either side of the fence you sit on in the debate.

I have noticed that throughout this thread, simple numbers backed by sources really seem to anger people who are set on a multicultural dystopia… or they want to be pedantic when we’re dirt poor and the countries going to the dogs.

I see no issue with wanting to be more picky with our immigration and especially picky with our welfare. From your comments about your family never needing social housing, I can see how this doesn’t bother you. The thing is, life comes at you fast and hoping you don’t need a safety net and that safety net no longer being there are very different.

No one slags off Australia bizarrely for their tactics around low skill immigration and illegal immigration. Many Brits flock to it…

That’s fair, riots do get out of hand. I’d never support thuggery. What I took issue with was you mocking everyone and then just slipping in that a young girl was raped by people who are essentially guests. With the news around the rape/grooming gangs and other foreign male crimes against our women and girls on the rise - I can see why tensions would rise.

To anyone thinking this is far right rhetoric - the stats are easily found from multiple sources (1/4 rapes are foreign born males of many nationalities). Not just the U.K. - but Europe. I’m sick of being told we already have rapists so may as well import some more. I get really angry when it comes to women and girls safety, it’s not about politics it’s about our right to exist and not be raped!

This morning, sat having a coffee and a bit of brekkie and an immigrant of African descent with a strong African accent so obviously a recent immigrant came and sat beside me and despite my social cues to tell him to piss off, proceeded to chat me up. There were about 30 other empty tables. This happens so frequently with African men and I'm so fucking sick of not being able to sit peacefully without getting interrupted.

I really don't care what you think of me.

In my late teens to early twenties I dated African men and all were cheaters, abusive both physically and mentally, one forced me to get a termination and one raped me with the premise of taking me for a meal. Instead he took me to a flat and raped me. That happened 20 years ago and since then my experience of African men being letchy hasn't changed. I've been followed home late at night by them, been touched on the bus, been accosted so many times when I'm out having a quiet drink like this morning. They don't have the same cultural values as we do and I'd rather men like that weren't in our country. I don't want to be open to rape, abuse and other stuff.

Well said. Females are not safe with unknown men from overseas here. Their culture and respect for women does not equal ours. They don't see females as equals at all.

I'm sorry to hear of your sexual assault but am not interested in your racism. There are two types of racists, one is ignorant and unable to differentiate between people of colour, lumping them all together in a dehumanising fashion. The other is intelligent and has an agenda, twisting 'facts' to sow division.

I believe you are the first kind, lacking intelligence and unable to understand that not all people from a whole continent are the same. It's my country too and I'd rather people like you weren't in it. You have nothing positive to contribute.
