Favourite lazy arse dinners

As per title. Tonight I have a plate of pasta (fusilli) with butter melted through and cheddar cheese on top. Teaspoon of lazy garlic mixed through with the butter. When I’m being less disgusting I melt butter and a little garlic into the fusilli, add tuna or chicken and basil, and squeeze a lemon over. But the ultimate lazy dinner is literally a heap of pasta covered in cheese.

What are your ultimate lazy arse dinners?

Just thought of another one. Steak sarnie. One bavette steak, one baguette, loads of american mustard. Frozen slices onions fried while the steak rests. My fave Friday night lazy dinner.

If I'm home late from work, I pour a large bowl of Kelloggs cornflakes. Then, chuck on a fist full of flaked almonds, tiny drizzle of maple syrup and pour in some soya milk to make myself feel that I'm being healthy. Voila!!! ♡

Baking camembert (done in the air fryer) with pitta bread to dip. If feeling adventurous add sweet chilli sauce

This is also a classic Friday night lazy ass dinner...and now added to my meal plan for this week, thank you!

abracadabra1980 · 07/07/2025 21:35

Crisp sandwich with peanuts on the side, accompanied by the indulgent scent of a dry, succulent, rosé…

PreciousMomentsHun · 07/07/2025 21:36

Tonight I had a babybel. Would have wrapped a piece of bread around it if the fucking dog hadn't nicked it.

It's outrageously good. Currently planning camping menu for our hols in a few weeks and this is on the menu...one night eating in, one eating out!

Your meal. I eat it quite regularly. Absolutely massive bowl coz it's totally protein-less and therefore not very filling. But so damn delicious

fetchacloth · 07/07/2025 22:47

Ham sandwich with an apple.
Ploughman's lunch but for dinner.
Basically I don't like cooking during hot weather 😎

FrenchTucked · 07/07/2025 23:06

A whole bag of gnocchi, smothered with cheese, and black pepper. Ham snipped on top. A glass of fizz if I've got the house to myself.

Skinheads on a raft (beans on toast)

In this hot weather I buy, from nearby (& wonderful) Persian supermarket:- a freshly-cooked rotisserie chicken; a big tub of mixed loose olives; a top-up of any salad items I may need. I make a huge mixed salad - (or dip into previous day's air-tight-lidded glass-bowl of same from fridge) - enough for 2-3days. Dress with homemade dressing (also pre-made in quantity & kept in snap-tight glass bottle). No cooking. 1 chicken lasts me about 3 days. It's an "assemble on the plate" meal. Sometimes it's smoked salmon + feta in place of chicken. Or smoked mackerel. It's a "no-cook", almost-instant, fresh-produce meal for a single person. Recognise it'd be different for more than 1 person. It also helps if you don't mind eating the same sort of thing on successive days. I don't.

A currant teacake with cheese and onion Seabrook crisps. Teeth mark butter.

BadActingParsley · 08/07/2025 07:16

@WhiteNoiseBlurcooking the sauce for as long as that makes it much nicer, adds a lot of flavour. We make sausage pasta a couple of times a month with left over bbq sausages.

salmon or smoked haddock done in the airfyer or oven from frozen, mash ready made and a pouch of green veg. if I’m feeling fancy will heat up cream, spring onions and spinach and mustard for the smoked haddock. If not I’ll cook in milk in the oven.

OnlyFannys · 08/07/2025 07:42

Cheese omelette with nandos garlic sauce on the side

Starlight1984 · 08/07/2025 10:21

If I'm home alone:

Tinned mackerel in BBQ / hot and spicy sauce, Uncle Bens microwave fried rice and some frozen veg

Heinz tomato soup and Jacobs cream crackers with loads of butter (and maybe some cheese sprinkled on the soup)

Ham and crisp sandwich on white bread

Those filled tortellini with a (store bought) sauce and grated cheese.

All of the above served with a glass or two of wine and eaten at the kitchen table reading a good book with the radio on in the background. Bliss!!!

After reading Butter, plain boiled jasmine rice with soy sauce and butter. Surprisingly delicious.
if there’s a bit of cooking involved, dh’s favourite is bacon, new potatoes and peas with mint jelly and a fuckton of butter. But I guess every meal is a lazy one for him as he never fucking cooks.

I've just started this book!!! Is it good??

@OhMaria2If you get a blanket or throw and wrap it around your shoulders, you can pretend you’re a young but wise shepherdess who lives out on the windy moors, having her simple repast for the day…
