Favourite lazy arse dinners

As per title. Tonight I have a plate of pasta (fusilli) with butter melted through and cheddar cheese on top. Teaspoon of lazy garlic mixed through with the butter. When I’m being less disgusting I melt butter and a little garlic into the fusilli, add tuna or chicken and basil, and squeeze a lemon over. But the ultimate lazy dinner is literally a heap of pasta covered in cheese.

What are your ultimate lazy arse dinners?

Now this isn't fair.. Some of these are proper sounding dinners..

This.

Redflagsabounded · 07/07/2025 00:53

Pasta with butter and grated cheese is my favourite comfort food/easy dinner too - with a bit of raw chopped onion and lots of black pepper mixed in. Takes 10 mins and takes me back to my childhood.

Quick dinner - microwave rice (plain or golden vegetable) in a bowl, make a well, rack in and egg or two, microwave, stir with soy sauce. Can add cooked meat/veg leftovers. 'Stir fry' in 2 minutes flat

Dillydollydingdong · 07/07/2025 00:57

Scrambled eggs on toast . Or omelette.

Anonymousy121 · 07/07/2025 01:00

Pack of crisps

Quirkswork · 07/07/2025 01:00

Toasted pitta and butter and marmite.

Hard boiled egg sliced on ryvita with butter and Marmite

Sliced tomato on toast. Maybe with Marmite if feeling fancy. And butter.

If cooking, I feel you can't go wrong with your classic beans on toast. No need to fiddle with that.

vyvyanne · 07/07/2025 01:05

Salmon in the air fryer, pouch of rice in microwave, frozen peas

Snap! That is my exact go to at least once a week.

Topsyturvy78 · 07/07/2025 01:30

Cheey beans on a baked potato with fish fingers.

Iloveburgerswaymorethanishould · 07/07/2025 01:32

Thai fish cakes, air fried, put on a bagged salad (though I add cherry tomatoes, red onion and fresh beetroot), balsamic glaze and sweet chilli sauce. I could eat it daily. Or (if I’m lucky to get some) fried green tomatoes, black pepper and balsamic glaze drizzled over….. even better if they are greenhouse fresh ones!!

Then I sit and wonder why I’ve got horrific heartburn 24/7!!! I’m obsessed with tomatoes and balsamic vinegar/glaze (usually both!!) all tips to prevent it welcome!!! lol.

You've just reminded me...

Haddock fish cakes (from the fish van - delivers twice a week) with bagged salad. Ready grated cheese from the wee co-op - mozzarello or cheddar - sprinkled on top.

Beans on toast. Scrambled egg on toast. Toast on toast :) Though at the moment in this warm weather my appetite isn't quite what it is in the winter, so I'm finding myself just wanting cut up crunchy crispy apples (I like the English grown ones the best at the moment) and (you can mock me, I don't mind :) a little dish with a bit of fresh made caesar salad dressing in it...dunk the apple slices (apple kept in the fridge for extra crispy cronchiness) in the dressing...omg...for some reason that's really floating my boat at the moment :) Even more so than...gasp...crisps or chocolate. I know! And no, I am not pregnant lol :)

If my kids are around; pasta bake made from a jar of sauce and dried pasta served with microwaved frozen veg.
For me on my own; rice pudding, cold from the can...I am extremely lazy-arsed

SingleAHF · 07/07/2025 02:27

The laziest dinner i ever have is a cup of milk with a quarter cup of double cream stirred in.

SingleAHF · 07/07/2025 02:29

Second laziest: throw a jacket spud into the air fryer for 40 mins then serve with butter and shake a bag of pre-grated cheese over it.

alphabetti · 07/07/2025 06:08

Frozen haddock in air fryer with instant noodles

I batch cook soup so when having a long day and doubt much else will get prepared just bring a portion out of freezer and then have it with a cheese toastie made in air fryer

Years ago when young would just cook pasta stir marg through it and sprinkle in mixed herbs and eat that!

sandwichlover93 · 07/07/2025 06:30

Tea and toast. One peanut butter, one jam. Cup of tea.

I learnt this from another thread on Mumsnet!

Block of feta and a tub in cherry tomatoes drizzled with olive oil in the oven for 20 minutes

Cook pasta

Mix the lot together and stir some fresh rocket through to serve

😯

Haha! What?

My dinner of pasta with butter and grated cheese?

😂 what planet are you on? Highly superior 🧀 🧐 Are you living on chewing gum and cat food for dinner or something?

Don't worry op there's nothing wrong with a nice half arsed dinner, its more telling on the other person that thinks your acting "superior"

Katemax82 · 07/07/2025 06:59

Cheese and chili jam toasties

Missey85 · 07/07/2025 07:02

Chicken tenders and french fries so toddler food 😆

Hereforthedramaz · 07/07/2025 07:04

Fry a packet of the (cheap) smoked salmon trimmings, mix in some creme fraiche and spinach.
