Chub rub...help!

biggienotsmall · 03/07/2025 19:53

posting here as don't know where else to post.

I'm away on holiday in a couple of weeks, and I've bought some long dresses, I'm not a small gal so could do with some anti rub shorts.

Any advice on what the best ones are? Ones that don't ride up your leg, and not too clingy

Go to the Style and Beauty board - there's a whole thread there running about how to deal with chub rub including recommendations for shorts etc

Chub rub shorts from snag tights. Game changer!

Seconding snag

I use Snag, I have bought them in various different colours.

Also, Google SportsShield (might be 2 words and i think it's Tom's SportsShield) - it's a roll on liquid that athletes use to prevent chafing. I've used this when on holiday and wearing shorts that I can't wear my Snag chubrub tights with. I also use it when I'm in my swimming costume. It's excellent. I might have to reapply it once or twice during the day but it's not a problem. Don't buy the one with the pink branding - it's more expensive and is just a "pink pound tax'. The non-female targeted bottle contains exactly the same product.

Have a lovely holiday.

Snag definitely

uggmum · 03/07/2025 20:00

I bought some from M&S and they are excellent. Came in a 2 pack. They are quite sheer and are comfortable
they do not ride up

ObidiahCurryPowder · 03/07/2025 20:00

Snag does a really good range!

AquaCat93 · 03/07/2025 20:03

I have some spanx biker shorts that I got on Vinted, they are really comfy.

GreenSmithing · 03/07/2025 20:06

Rather than shorts, I have these which I prefer under dresses because the dress hangs better and also they're loose so quite cool.

Snag

PonyPatter44 · 03/07/2025 20:09

I don't like Snag's marketing. I've got chub rub shorts from Better Tights and Big Bloomers Company. They're all exactly the same, though.

Popadomorbread · 03/07/2025 20:10

Chub rub shorts from snag! They are also cooling. Game changer.

Popadomorbread · 03/07/2025 20:10

Also liquid talc from Asda (usually in the babies section) is great for prevention too!

HappyMuma · 03/07/2025 20:11

Snag tights! They stay in place and they are really lightweight so you aren’t any hotter when wearing them.

M and S

StMarie4me · 03/07/2025 20:17

Can I point out that skinny women can get thigh chafing too? If your thighs touch (like dancers’ straight legs) they can chafe. It’s not just about weight!

bellamorgan · 03/07/2025 20:20

I got shorts from whispers shein. They are amazing!!

Will check out the roll on recommendation from a pp. I tried liquid baby power and that didn’t work well enough.

Okbyethen · 03/07/2025 20:21

I have 2 pairs from Snag and they're great, had them several years and they're still going strong 😀

CleverMintHedgehog · 03/07/2025 20:25

I’ve just ordered some new ones from Snag - had my current pairs for a while and they’re great. If you are wearing shorter dresses go for the shorties.

MissFizzyPop · 03/07/2025 20:29

I have some chub rub shorts from Popsy (when I went through that phase!) but I've also found that Asda Liquid Talc (from the baby section) works a treat when it's too hot for that extra layer.

Bodyglide

monkeysox · 03/07/2025 20:31

Snag tights

TheyNicknamedHerTheBolter · 03/07/2025 20:31

Snag make me so, so hot. I genuinely much prefer the primark £5 ones

user8429706521 · 03/07/2025 20:32

The big bloomers company - fab!
