Chub rub...help!

biggienotsmall · 03/07/2025 19:53

posting here as don't know where else to post.

I'm away on holiday in a couple of weeks, and I've bought some long dresses, I'm not a small gal so could do with some anti rub shorts.

Any advice on what the best ones are? Ones that don't ride up your leg, and not too clingy

MIL buys pure cotton bloomer style shorts (come down to her knees) from Amazon and wears them under floaty dresses. She wore them on holiday and they looked very comfortable!

TiredOctopus · 03/07/2025 20:40

Snag chub rub shorts user here. Very happy with them, very comfy.

Weirdaf1 · 03/07/2025 20:42

The thigh rescue linked above is great. I find any shorts too warm.

Pippa12 · 03/07/2025 20:44

Have you tried the anti chafe cream ‘bum butter’? It’s an absolute game changer. We have had tubs of the stuff. No need for any sweaty shorts- smells nice too!!

Littlefish · 03/07/2025 20:46

Snag are on special offer at the moment, 3 for 2.

I like H&M maternity cycling shorts - thin, cotton, don’t ride up and I feel contained with the higher waist

sentfromiphoen · 03/07/2025 20:54

Liquid talcum powder is great too

I bought some from M&S and they are excellent. Came in a 2 pack. They are quite sheer and are comfortable
they do not ride up

These are better than snag imo. I love them.

Big bloomers company or Marks and Spencer do a culotte slip which I find much cooler and airier than the shorts style chub rub short.

Megababe Thigh Rescue.

I’m a size 16-18, and I used it when I was pregnant, too. It’s a game changer. Honestly, best investment for us girlies who are blessed in the thigh department! 👌🏻

I never go without it now. You can get a large stick, and a travel size one too. It lasts me ages too.

Vanillalime · 03/07/2025 21:19

I like the Primark anti chafe shorts that cost about £7.

I bought the Snag ones but felt they had no stretch & they rolled up my legs - waste of money.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 03/07/2025 21:21

Bodyglide is excellent. The last thing i want under a dress is essentially a pair of shorts when its warm/hot out.... no matter how cooling they claim to be

(My personal opinion. Other opinions are available)

Chub rub shorts from snag tights. Game changer!

Yes another vote for Snag!

I’ve just ordered more. Currently 3 for 2 on chub rub shorts

aSpanielintheworks · 03/07/2025 21:30

Primark in a size bigger than usual. I’m a size 12 and I buy the large, they are so so comfortable, lightweight, stretchy and they dont move when they’re on!

ButterCrackers · 03/07/2025 21:32

Underwear shorts but you can’t wear a pad in them. I’ve tried bands, like the top of stockings, but these you feel as you walk. The inner leg is protected but I found them uncomfortable

Jamesblonde2 · 03/07/2025 21:33

I spray deodorant on my inner thighs. Always works a treat. I use Mitchum. Saves wearing big warm pants.

Jamesblonde2 · 03/07/2025 21:35

I spray it on the tops and soles of my feet too to stop my shoes rubbing.

biggienotsmall · 03/07/2025 21:37

Thanks all.

I should have added what size to get? Are they true to size, on the small/big size?

Roll on deodorant or dry shampoo also works

Inthebleakmidwinter1 · 03/07/2025 21:55

Snag chub rubs if it’s warm. If it’s super hot and you want to feel light and free then liquid talc is great. Liquid talc needs 22 degrees and above. It doesn’t work if it’s cooler.

Ohnobackagain · 03/07/2025 22:03

These are good @biggienotsmall I have loads of colours and they wash up a treat. And if you want a balm, then the stuff cyclists use on the chamois pad in their shorts is good, too
