Lily Allen ‘can’t remember’ how many abortions she’s had

Article in the Fail today about this.
I am pro choice but it did make me a bit uncomfortable. After a while a string of abortions - too many to remember - would surely leave its mark physically and emotionally not mention the cost on the NHS.
Everyone should have a choice but is there not an element of personal responsibility to just take precautions after the first few times?!

Newborns aren't children.

Pre cancerous cells on your cervix have the potential to be cancer but they aren’t cancer

zygotes have the potential to be born and become babies but they aren’t babies

Oh to be a fly on the wall when you do the "sorry about your zygote" thing to a friend who has just miscarried 😂

I've just seen this, interesting take. Have you seen how much healthcare is delivered as a result of non-communicable diseases and conditions that have mostly modifiable risk factors (aka "lifestyle")?

Is insulin for T2 diabetes not healthcare? Are inhalers for COPD not healthcare?
Are surgeries, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapies for skin cancers not healthcare?
Are anticoagulants in stroke and heart disease not healthcare?
If you break your femur skiing and have it pinned back together, is that not healthcare?

Edited

I get your points. Yes, that is all healthcare.

However, if you keep smoking whilst suffering with COPD or lung cancer, or keep eating terribly and don't look after your health when suffering with T2 diabetes, then yes, those are also terrible lifestyle choices. If you damage your liver because of excessive drinking, get a transplant (which is hard enough to do without quitting completely), then relapse? That's also a terrible lifestyle choice. It's harmful to you and to those around you.

Quite frankly, all of the above deserve judgement.

"There is no ground to equate the murder of children to the ending of a pregnancy"

I was replying to this, but its quite clear that the arguments here are incredibly disingenuous, which exposes the fundamental weaknesses of your position.

And so you thought

Let’s have a good natter about it on AIBU

She spoke about it on her podcast. And what, now no one is meant to every speak about it again? Get a grip.

There isn't such a thing as "pro choice but". Either you understand that a few cells is part of the human they are in (before 7 weeks remember there isn't even a brain nor nerves, and before 24 weeks it's usually impossible for a foetus to survive outside the womb), or you believe those few cells are an independent person with a right to life greater than that of the human growing the cells who doesn't want to.

In my view, it's her body and so it's entirely her choice.

I believe that those cells are an independent life and when I found out I was pregnant I fiercely protected those few cells until her birth. But I also believe a woman has a right to choose- as she has to go through the pregnancy, I just find it hard to understand why you would want an abortion as it’s your child growing in there, but that is my experience of pregnancy.

I do not impose my views on other woman but I think abortion is shades of grey not black or white. As I believe those cells are a child that could have had a life - it makes me sad- but it was not my body so not my choice.

But I think Lily Allen purposely overshares for publicity - so might even be the OP - who knows!

Birth

So a 41 week fetus is just a 'bundle of cells' but a 24 week old that was born very prematurely is a baby?

You know a fetus is about as much a bunch of cells as you are right? The 'bunch of cells' stage is pretty much reserved for when we are zygotes, which is only the first few days. After that we have differentiated tissue, just like we do fit the rest of our lives.
