Fuck! Seriously, the Tories fucked up this country on a level that nobody seems to comprehend and the bullshit media are fucking jumping on a woman who dares to cry or show emotion. Fuck the patriarchy. All those dozens of horrendous male Tory MPS we had to deal with time and time again and people are chastising this woman for actually trying to do something! The benefits system is fucked and needs reform but in comparison to what Boris and his cronies did, they’re a breath of fresh air. Sadly the British publish just want a moon on a stick and media have gone on a witch hunt! Since when did Daily Mail readers care about people on benefits? 😂

When we have Reform in power nobody will hold Farage to account! Just like not one shitty tabloid has held him to account for the utter atrocity that was Brexit.

Soulfulunfurling · 02/07/2025 13:34

Gilts market now predicting her resignation. The markets are now turning against her. Let’s hope she makes it quick before she wrecks the country on the way out, as well as her way in.

Markets are now tanking

I don't give a fuck that a politician is crying

They aren't Labour, Labour doesn't try and take from the elderly, poor, sick, and vulnerable.

I'm disabled, my son is disabled, their policies would have dropped my entire household into poverty. I'm a Carer, i get shit benefits, and i CANT work because i'm a carer, but they want to take away my Pip that supports my costs of being disabled while i'm also working to care for my disabled kid?

She can get fucked.

Whoever came up with these policies and thought they'd get away with it are touched in the head. Cunts, all of them.

Reported.
I work and pay huge amounts of tax to support the benefits system. As does my whole family.
Why is everything about you?
Your language is disgusting.

2andadog · 02/07/2025 13:33

No, he's not.

Honestly the lack of intelligence and humanity on this thread is outstanding. Also ignorance towards politics and policies. No wonder the country is in a mess.

RR is more qualified than any previous chancellors with the exception of Sunak. Whether you agree with her is different, but she's certainly not inept, just making unpopular decisions which are needed as the country is broke.

If only running a county is as simple as MN seem to think it is from their comfy living rooms.

Nonsense. Anyone can see it bar the head in the sand Labour posters on mn.

Bravo-100% true.

@alexalistenhope you felt the same about the Tory and Reform politicians who hate vulnerable people even more!

Even the markets can see it.

I think there should be a vote of no confidence against the PM.

If Starmer lost a VONC who would you like to see replace him as Labour leader and PM?

Absolutely disgusting comments in this thread.

Just be because you don't like her politics.

A woman having a breakdown, and you lot are out for blood.

Whatever happened to 'be kind' ? . Nah, fuck that let's stick the boot in.

She's the chancellor, we don't want the chancellor having a breakdown on the front bench thanks.

Kreepture · 02/07/2025 13:37

Oh shush, you can't report someone for an opinion you don't like, I haven't broken any guidelines.

Jellycatspyjamas · 02/07/2025 13:37

But i do think there are better ways to approach tackling the welfare bill in particular, and the budget deficit in general.

I would be genuinely interested in hearing your ideas on this - not finding money to pay for an ever increasing welfare budget, but actually reducing state dependency.

GasPanic · 02/07/2025 13:37

TheFairyCaravan · 02/07/2025 13:29

Nowhere to be seen. Which is what I don’t get. Why does she get to sit it out, but Rachel Reeves has to sit there looking so utterly distraught?

Maybe she was filling out her application form for Chancellor ?

Feel for her? Seriously?! The misery that that woman and the rest of her cronies have inflicted on many, many people, she and the whole lot of that rotten party should all be out of a job. Sooner the next GE comes around the better. And no I'm not going to vote Tory next time as they are responsible for letting this insane lot get into power in the first place. Not so smug now is she. Hopefully Jess Philips will be next, awful woman! Closely followed by Two Tier Keir!!

Why do you call him "Two Tier"?

Glad I am not alone. A forum for women this is supposed to be. It's lost its way over the last few years.

Practice hasn't helped so far!!

thinking about other things hasn't helped..

pressing my tongue to the roof of my mouth hasn't helped....

The only thing that stops it for me is thinking of an old boss who I really, really hated and thinking "I won't give you the satisfaction of seeing me cry" 😐

Jellycatspyjamas · 02/07/2025 13:38

None of them their all as bad as each other

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/07/2025 13:39

DaphneduM · 02/07/2025 12:58

I'd say £43k is a pretty comfortable pension personally - I'm talking pensions here, not salaries

So would I. Most pensioners have paid off their mortgages, if they had one, and they don't pay NI (they do, of course pay income tax, council tax, etc, but no NI is a big benefit). Next to no one on £43k pa is going to struggle without a winter fuel payment of £200, or £300 if there is an over-80yo in the household, especially in Scotland where personal care in the home is free and not means tested.

It's a bad time in UK politics. The Tories were abysmally bad and we've all lost track of how many PMs and cabinet ministers we've had in the last few years. I hoped Labour would be better. It was hard to see how they could be worse. They inherited a very bad financial position, but they have this huge majority so it looked like a no brainer that they would have no trouble getting new laws passed. Oh dear.

I shudder to think what the next General Election might bring. The only comfort is it's four years away.

SummerFrog25 · 02/07/2025 13:39

PAYE · 02/07/2025 13:14

The really sad thing is that she was trying to do the right thing.

It is madness to give a bung to the richest portion of society (pensioners) while taxing young families heavily.

The country cannot afford to have an ever increasing proportion of the population self-declare as disabled and get given money which allows them not to work. Generous welfare benefits sound kind but just trap millions in poverty. (and yes, I know there are some disabled who can never work but they would not have been impacted as they would still have qualified).

Shame on the Labour rebels who have voted not to address the country's challenges.

And shame on the Conservatives for trashing the economy in the last 14 years.

Self declare?? What are you on about??

Jellycatspyjamas · 02/07/2025 13:39

I completely agree with you Eastern.

Only a fool would seek to deny the reality.

No mercy should be shown to this Labour shower.
