apparently she had an altercation with Lindsey Hoyle just before appearing according to The Mirror

Feel very sorry for her, despite her ineptitude as chancellor. She seems to be heading for a breakdown and, if I were her, I'd resign now.

Westminster in an out of date archaic bear pit. The braying is ridiculous. At least our Parliament up here in Scotland is more civilised in the way it conducts its business.

Edited

Yeah so civilized, that they bully and hound out women for being gender critical.

Feel for her? Seriously?! The misery that that woman and the rest of her cronies have inflicted on many, many people, she and the whole lot of that rotten party should all be out of a job. Sooner the next GE comes around the better. And no I'm not going to vote Tory next time as they are responsible for letting this insane lot get into power in the first place. Not so smug now is she. Hopefully Jess Philips will be next, awful woman! Closely followed by Two Tier Keir!!

You'll fall for the reform bullshit and send us to he'll in a handcart then

You do realise that if Labour don't win the next election it will be the Tories or more likely Reform? You have to be very careful what you wish for.

2dogsandabudgie · 02/07/2025 14:06

Not even Keir Starmer would be that heartless would he if that was the case?

No. It can't be. I'm sure if there was any personal reason so bad she is at risk of crying on TV then her aids would have made sure she didn't appear on TV. I'm not saying she would use a death as an excuse not to face up to her failures but if something like that happened then surely you'd rather just say so (it will come out anyway) to avoid the whole-world watching you in pain.
Probably tears of frustration as turn-coat 2TK hasn't supported her, tears of self pity for being used by him and tears of relief it's all going to be over soon!
I'd cry just because I was losing a free flat and weekend home and had to move back to my (rented out, income generating) previous home!

WhereIsMyJumper · 02/07/2025 14:13

MrsKeats · 02/07/2025 13:24

It's not an opinion. It's vile vitriol. You want her dead. Which is hate speech. Your account should be banned. I will make sure that happens.

Woah! Bit of a leap!

I've cried at work before, three times. Once when I had news my grandad was very unwell in hospital, once when I was told in a group Zoom call that my job was at risk and the final time was just because of an argument (luckily it was only me and my manager in that day!) I applaud people who can keep it together 100% of the time, but not everyone can. It doesn't make someone bad at their job! I wish we could all just bit a bit more compassionate. Luckily I wasn't on PMQs at the time, but the one with the job just came from nowhere, I was completely blindsided and there were about 30 people on the call. So embarrassing, but my colleagues are mostly lovely and most of them immediate sought me out to ask if I was ok!

Iv cried at work before but im not being paid millions to keep it together and to act professional at all times in public.

I assume you are not leading the country…

MargoLivebetter · 02/07/2025 14:15

I'm not a Labour voter but human to human I felt really sorry for Rachel Reeves watching that. I watched it on Parliament TV and tears undoubtedly did slide down her face and you could clearly see that she had been crying previously as well as her eyes were so puffy. I imagine there has been the most ferocious battle behind the scenes with the more left wing of the party insisting that aspects of the Welfare Bill be dropped. Reeves will know full well that there isn't enough money in the pot to keep on funding welfare at the rate that we do. I suspect it has been grim.

WaryCrow · 02/07/2025 14:15

nomas · 02/07/2025 14:10

I’ve just watched it, she wasn’t crying.

Yeah, it looks like she's got problems with her eyes after being up all night and they were watering more than anything else.

It is really scary how much propaganda and bullying there is going on, and how much power the right wingers have, want and are getting. So much for wanting a better more productive kind of politics. It even seems as if that requirement has dropped out of national awareness.

AInightingale · 02/07/2025 14:15

She may well be dealing with some really bad stuff personally, but your boss publicly shitting on you when you're emotionally fragile to begin with is guaranteed to bring on tears.

tara66 · 02/07/2025 14:15

Margaret Thatcher cried when she left 10 Downing St ''for the last time'' but never at Dispatch Box or when she was stabbed in the back. RR should have taken antidepressants before she arrived if she was feeling so low - it's a bad show for the whole country.

Genuine question how could they be worse?!

sleepwouldbenice · 02/07/2025 14:16

Mumble12 · 02/07/2025 14:08

One died, not some.

An ongoing, current riot needs dealing with decisively in order to deter more people from joining in and overwhelming the system.

The failure of some people to act in the grooming gangs scandal, doesn't bear any relation to the southport riots.

Lucy Connolly for the millionth time plead guilty and was sentenced well within the guidelines. No sentencing guidelines were changed to amp up her punishment. Her (and your) ignorance of the potential outcome of her crime isn't a mitigating factor.

Agreed
Any infringement my arse
People were scared to go out, businesses were wrecked and they behaved like animals. More than happy to lock them up for a long time

I don't think anti-depressants work like that...

Do you WANTED the MPs to vote for the cuts? Against their own constituents views?

Alan Johnson yday saying that the paradox of a big majority is backbenchers assume they can rebel more frequently and not jeopardize the government.

PIP campaignees are still furious at Starmer and are pushing for more guarantees so it's likely that there'll be more rebellions.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/jul/02/disabled-people-react-watered-down-welfare-reform-bill-passes

And this is relatively straightforward. It's unlikely backbenchers would be able to stand by tougher decisions like accepting limits on education spending as a result of borrowing meaning There is no money. Or tax rates going up to cover the shortfall.

There's always someone else who should pay.

The problem is if they do bring down the government they'll get Farage as prime minister. And he really doesn't give a fuck about pip

ghostyslovesheets · 02/07/2025 14:18

alexalisten · 02/07/2025 14:17

Her net worth is 2 million

But she’s not paid ‘millions’ to do her job is she?

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 02/07/2025 14:18

She deserves to cry all the time for what she's doing to the economy. Awful, awful person.
