Who would be a political? There's fuck all about attractive. Unless you like arguing constantly and belittling others.
No wonder the country is getting shittier and shittier.

If she was crying, I hope someone helps her out. I'd skedaddle - nothing is worth all this crappy shit. I thought she started with good intentions, makes me wonder what happens with the civil servants, advisors in those offices.

Not even Keir Starmer would be that heartless would he if that was the case?

She may have wanted to be there knowing the backlash was coming - if she hadn’t been it would’ve looked cowardly

The school bullies are out in force today.

Which ones?

It's the speed at which people who were arrested for any infringement during the Southport demonstrations, put up in front of a judge and jailed with the maximum term. Oh and the fact violent criminals were released to 'make room' for all the white working class trouble makers (some of whom were elderly and have since died in jail). Then are the slowwwww cases like MP Mike Amsebury... no swift justice here just a hope that if it's left long enough everyone will just forget....
That was all down to Starmer knowing the court system inside out, declaring 'swift action' on anyone breaking the law (the kind of breaking of the law that would normally result in a slapped wrist or conviction with minimal term). He wanted to crush anyone who might have ideas about upsetting his term as PM. Think it has rather backfired.

One died, not some.

An ongoing, current riot needs dealing with decisively in order to deter more people from joining in and overwhelming the system.

The failure of some people to act in the grooming gangs scandal, doesn't bear any relation to the southport riots.

Lucy Connolly for the millionth time plead guilty and was sentenced well within the guidelines. No sentencing guidelines were changed to amp up her punishment. Her (and your) ignorance of the potential outcome of her crime isn't a mitigating factor.

Which, as world at one was saying, will now come out of departmental budgets.

So don't bet on those potholes being fixed or that bus service to rural areas being saved

This is what irritates many. We want better services for all, not an ever increasing level of handouts to a few.

AudHvamm · 02/07/2025 14:09

Crying is an effective way to release cortisol from the body. Beneficial for mental health, certainly more beneficial for relational health than suppressing and then lashing out. I'd much rather have people in leadership who are able to emotionally regulate like this than be stuck in reactive states.

Its not bullying to have no sympathy forsomeone who tried to kill you and millions of others

Labour are totally stuffed. Their brainless rebel MPs have made this country ungovernable and this government will fold rapidly. We’ll get reform in instead who will bin all disability payments entirely. But that’s what happens when idiots are made into MPs and don’t like cold hard truths of government.

This might be what you hope is going to happen, but it isn't.

Rachel Reeves tried to kill you? I'd have thought that would make the papers?

Do you WANTED the MPs to vote for the cuts? Against their own constituents views?

She was 100% crying. Tears rolling down her face, lip wobbling - looked like she was about to break down

I’ve just watched it, she wasn’t crying.

BIossomtoes · 02/07/2025 14:10

PandoraSocks · 02/07/2025 14:02

If she hadn't appeared at PMQs she would have been ripped to shreds by the media. And MN.

Edited

Of course she would. She couldn’t win either way.

PandoraSocks · 02/07/2025 14:09

Whats your view on the current Labour government @PandoraSocks

dynamiccactus · 02/07/2025 14:10

nahthatsnotforme · 02/07/2025 12:45

The clueless offered it to her and she foolishly (or maybe arrogantly) accepted.
She needs to resign.

Of course she does, because she's a woman.

Didn't see all the Tory men resigning when they messed up. Only when they were forced out.

WhereIsMyJumper · 02/07/2025 14:11

Rispknee · 02/07/2025 13:10

That may be true, but that's why we've had such shocking governments. Even the working classes subconsciously believe we should be governed by the ruling classes, with their condolence and stiff upper lips.

I agree! I do think the working classes subconsciously think that. I think it’s why they replaced Corbyn with Starmer. Even Corbyn was too ‘out there’

LittleAlexHornesPocket · 02/07/2025 14:11

Anyway, all those who are being gleeful about her possible downfall, what exactly would you have her do?

If she cuts the unaffordable triple lock then the over 65s, the biggest voting block, will be in uproar. (I hope my fellow Gen Xers and Millennials are looking forward to our retirement age being 74 to pay for the current cohort by the way).

If she raises taxes then EVERYONE will be in uproar. Even though when compared to other European countries we pay a relatively low amount but still demand European level of services.

If she cuts services then there will be nothing left as they've already been decimated by the Tories.

Can't cut defence because of Russia.

So what would you have her do?

This might be what you hope is going to happen, but it isn't.

What do you think is going to happen?

I voted Labour in the hope of grown up government making decisions in the best interest of the country and yet we have these childish idiots who cannot understand that the predicted rises in health benefits will crash the economy.

That is hyperbolic in the extreme.

GrahamSoup · 02/07/2025 14:11

I've cried at work before, three times. Once when I had news my grandad was very unwell in hospital, once when I was told in a group Zoom call that my job was at risk and the final time was just because of an argument (luckily it was only me and my manager in that day!) I applaud people who can keep it together 100% of the time, but not everyone can. It doesn't make someone bad at their job! I wish we could all just bit a bit more compassionate. Luckily I wasn't on PMQs at the time, but the one with the job just came from nowhere, I was completely blindsided and there were about 30 people on the call. So embarrassing, but my colleagues are mostly lovely and most of them immediate sought me out to ask if I was ok!

She was. Which is why all the media have said it. You can even see the tears on both of her cheeks @nomas .

Taking away my ability to pay for care and to cause me to become homeless would have absolutely lead to my death if I hadn't have died by suicide prior to that

What do you think happens when you take away a disabled person's whole income

Sadly, she was. You can see the tears. Awful.
