DD doesn't get sausage, she does get called Chicken, Cheeky Chicken, Nugget and 'Little Dickens' (because when she was smaller she looked like a little haunted victorian orphan child 😂

Gilead · 24/06/2025 17:26

Sausage, rosebud, chou fleur and Moomintroll!
Seeing it written down seems weird!

Dominoeffecter · 24/06/2025 17:27

It’s not the name per se, I just find it cringy when people call kids ‘buddy’ or ‘bud’

partyboat356 · 24/06/2025 17:27

Not sausage but pigeon and pudding.

Vater · 24/06/2025 17:30

I call my son and my cat sausage

CurlewKate · 24/06/2025 17:31

Piggywaspushed · 24/06/2025 13:56

My DS used to say sausage wrong so for a while he was Squasage. Also Sweetpea, Sweetie. Sunshine but usually in annoyance.

I am guessing you are a frightful snob OP.

What do you call your offspring? Young Master and Mistress Fragmented?

Edited

Extremely unlikely to be a snob-the upper classes ADORE a ridiculous nickname!

Sunnymysunshine · 24/06/2025 17:31

My daughter is chicken nugget or pork chop 🤣

IHadaMarvelousTimeRuiningEverything · 24/06/2025 17:33

Ineedanewsofa · 24/06/2025 13:53

Saus, sausage, chick, chickadee, bab, baberino, monk, monkey and occasionally potato as in “you absolute potato!”
Not sure we’d get on very well @Fragmentedbrain 🤣🤣

I also use saus, sausage, monk and monkey and also little monks.

I'd actually love to hear someone else call their child saus or monk in real life😂

Katemax82 · 24/06/2025 17:34

I've got 4 kids and call them all sausages (the older 2 not anymore though)

Herewegoagain84 · 24/06/2025 17:36

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 24/06/2025 14:55

@Herewegoagain84so your grandma is to blame??

Great grandma 😂

Bigearringsbigsmile · 24/06/2025 17:36

Yes and also chicken and lamb chop

OP definitely a snob. It was the ppst about saying Pickle with a w that gave it away...

I am guessing sausage is a non U nickname.

VillaDiodati · 24/06/2025 17:41

Lookingforwardto2025 · 24/06/2025 13:48

Not really DS but Dcats are my radiant sausages.

I call my cat muppet chops or just muppy for short!

SkibidiSigma · 24/06/2025 17:46

I only use sausage as in 'silly sausage'. My youngest is bear, squidge ball or dinky doughnut

FeebasAquarium · 24/06/2025 17:50

Yep often, but in my case it was an affectionate nickname for the dachshund we had when I was a teenager.
So I am using the same (actual) pet name for my children (and occasionally my partner) that I had for (my very beloved) dog.

PostmanPatAlwaysRingsTwice · 24/06/2025 17:51

I have two, Fishcake and Nuggets. No sausages but sometimes a hot diggity dawg.

lifeonmars100 · 24/06/2025 17:52

I used to call mine:

Sweet Potato
Lambkin
Timmy Tip Toes
Hungry Bunny
Tired Bunny
Sleepy Bunny
I miss those days...

henlake7 · 24/06/2025 17:55

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 24/06/2025 13:48

No, but I have a dachshund that I call “sausage”, and sometimes, “saus”.

I know, I know.

My dachshund/chihuahua is orange and abit chubby.....
I don't call him sausage. I call him my little baked bean!

fudgesmummy · 24/06/2025 18:03

When I was a childminder I often used to call the children sausage.
It was a tern of endearment and no parent ever complained

Glencocoyougo · 24/06/2025 18:09

My dad used to call me 'chickpea' ; he was a vegetarian.

DarkForces · 24/06/2025 18:11

What I want to say is 'stop being an absolute twat', but I've substituted 'sausage' to try to avoid social service intervention. It's often said in a slightly strained voice through gritted teeth.
ETA 'Doughnut' also covers it.

ShiftingSand · 24/06/2025 18:17

I’ve heard people calling their dogs sausage quite a lot, even though they weren’t Dachshunds. Poppet is v annoying. What is a poppet anyway?😫

SushiDisco · 24/06/2025 18:22

I call them chicken 🐔

BeanQuisine · 24/06/2025 18:26

This unfortunate lad, Ralph "Frankfurter" Hargreaves, was born with a sausage-shaped head and body which caused breathing difficulties, and could only attend school with a portable oxygen supply.

But he went on to become a very wealthy smallgoods merchant.

Do you call your child "sausage"?
