To think Peter Andre and Emily are the strangest couple?

I went down a bit of rabbit hole the other day (triggered by a random Facebook article), checking out Peter Andre and his wife Emily’s social media.

I get that he’s pretty well off (although he only had one good song so I’m not sure how well off), but how the fuck does Emily put up with him? She is obviously very intelligent, as well as beautiful, and a lot younger than him…I guess the heart wants what the heart wants but honestly the man has the IQ of a walnut, and he is also intensely irritating. I can’t imagine them having deep and meaningful conversations because I don’t think he’s capable of that.

I know this is a mean thread but it just seems like a very peculiar mismatch. Watching a 30 second reel of him on insta makes me feel stabby, how on earth does she live with him?

She’s also the daughter of his doctor. I don’t understand how he even met her given rules around not socialising with your patients. Obviously I don’t know all the details, none of us do clearly, but I’ve always been curious about how they met.

I can't imagine making a thread about the marriage of two people I've never met nor ever likely to 🙄

You nailed it OP - this is a mean thread. I’d also say it is a goady one too. Who cares? Live your best life and do t get embroiled in the life of others if they are not harming you or yours.

I remember years ago watching his fly on the wall type show and he was mad because she'd already been on a safari and actually vocalised how annoyed he was as he'd planned a trip for them. It was so odd.

Her father was Pete’s patient, remember that from the TV show. Agree very odd, I find him annoying.

He's awful, KP was far from a saint but the way he spoke to her on camera was disgraceful, made a few eyebrow raising comments to Emily on camera too...makes you wonder what he was like in private.

Did her tv career start after she met him? Maybe that was an incentive.

Agreed. He also comes across as deeply unpleasant - an insecure, jealous, attention-seeking little tosser. The way he spoke to Katie when they were married was awful. His whole “Pete the Parent” persona is so fake and pathetic.

I think they both have one massive thing in common, which is half the battle - they both want a life full of children.

I think he gifted them tickets to his gig, as a thank you to his surgeon (her dad), and that’s when he met Emily backstage.

I can’t believe his new movie is about pretending to be Jamaican. Or something like that? Who would even watch that?

I completely get it. I think that every time I see them. I work with a lot of doctors and they are simply put, very very clever. None of them are in relationships with thick people, most are with other doctors. I said to one of them, how boring it must be to be constantly surrounded by people so much less intelligent than you? But I guess they get used to it.

I’m sure that was part of the appeal. And I have read that he was very controlling towards KP so I can’t imagine he’s any different now. Again, I promise I’m not associated with KP in any way, she clearly has her own issues.

And I also think they're both very money driven. So they might look mismatched on paper but having shared values is the biggest predictor of a happy marriage and I could imagine on that they're pretty similar.

Every man has sperm in his balls though, why did she go for that one? 🤷‍♀️

Great observation. I remember going for surgery, with a brilliant new consultant who was taking over from a retired guy. He was telling me all about the innovative technique he uses, in great detail, and was clearly thrilled that I was actually interested in what he was telling me, asking questions & invested in my own health. He was so impressive!

Some of the clips you see from "Katie and Peter" show how absolutely awful he was to Katie, he has a huge ego and thinks everything should revolve around him. I can't imagine he's at all easy to live with
