To think Peter Andre and Emily are the strangest couple?

I went down a bit of rabbit hole the other day (triggered by a random Facebook article), checking out Peter Andre and his wife Emily’s social media.

I get that he’s pretty well off (although he only had one good song so I’m not sure how well off), but how the fuck does Emily put up with him? She is obviously very intelligent, as well as beautiful, and a lot younger than him…I guess the heart wants what the heart wants but honestly the man has the IQ of a walnut, and he is also intensely irritating. I can’t imagine them having deep and meaningful conversations because I don’t think he’s capable of that.

I know this is a mean thread but it just seems like a very peculiar mismatch. Watching a 30 second reel of him on insta makes me feel stabby, how on earth does she live with him?

I can’t even look at that bloke. He makes me feel ill. He’s cringey,he’s creepy,he’s just revolting

LancashireButterPie · 22/06/2025 23:16

I met Peter and Emily at a charity event that we are all involved with a few years ago. Peter was actually really sweet, Emily was rude, aloof and abrasive. She acted like she didn't want to be there, she didn't have to be, should have just gone home.

Choppychop · 22/06/2025 23:17

She does have an aloof vibe to her but some ppl are shy….

lingmerth · 22/06/2025 23:18

I also watched those reality shows of them both, not clips, and KP constantly belittled him and spoke to him awfully. It was embarrassing to watch how she humiliated him.
He and Emily seem very happy, in as much as we the public could ever know.
strange thread.

Bridgetjonesheart · 22/06/2025 23:19

It does sound rather odd but maybe she is motivated by money and that’s why she’s with him?

Berlinlover · 22/06/2025 23:20

She became pregnant very soon after meeting him at the age of 23. I’m sure her parents were very disappointed, I know I would be.

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 22/06/2025 23:22

He was abusive to Katoe Price.

He is a nasty person.

It's creepy he is with his new wife and feels controlling.

He really really loves his kids.

PurpleChrayn · 22/06/2025 23:22

He is the walking, living manifestation of The Ick.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 22/06/2025 23:23

I saw a tik tok of clips of him emotionally abusing Katie price from their documentary.

He seems very very controlling.

The age gap suits him.

TheMeasure · 22/06/2025 23:24

Controlling to Katie Price?!
I hardly think objecting to some of her appalling behaviour means he’s controlling. She’s is a terrible human being (and it would appear that the authorities who’ve removed her children from her care at various points would agree).
Some of her supporters keep referring to a particular bit of film footage where, yes, he spoke to her badly but if you watch the whole excerpt, you will see the very unpleasant taunts she levelled at him first.
Their relationship at that point was effectively over and I think he would be the first to admit they were bad for each other and he called time on the marriage - aided by his discovery she had been shagging around.
I think Emily comes across as delightful and she seems to be devoted to him. They also appear (as far as anyone can tell from SM footage) to have created a stable and happy family which has been the saving of his elder kids with KP. Had it been left up to her (who has openly admitted she likes her children to be feral), the outcomes for them both would have been very different.

MintTwirl · 22/06/2025 23:25

I think he is the type of person that has a public Mr Nice Guy face but he is different behind closed doors. I just get that vibe from him.
Getting together with KP was very lucrative for him and his career. His wife seems quite aloof, I don’t know if the tv thing is really her dream or if he is pulling the strings.

Princess and Junior seem nice enough kids. It must be hard seeing their mums lifestyle,

SameDayNewName · 22/06/2025 23:25

"Woman marries rich, attractive, slightly older man" is hardly headline news, or that surprising, surely? That's before I consider the absolute wank stains of men I wasted my best years on 😭 Peter Andre would definitely have been a step up, regardless of his IQ (if it even is that low).

TheGrimSmile · 22/06/2025 23:25

You can be "clever", or academic rather, and still be shallow as a puddle. I also don't think you need to be super intelligent to be a doctor. Averagely intelligent with a good (often private) education and often pushy parents is all it can take. I've come across several GPs who don't seem very bright at all with some of the nonsense they came out with. I've also met lots of solicitors who are thick as pig shit but people always assume they must be really clever for some reason.

But he really loves his kids....

That's what I came here to say.

Are you talking about the Segway episode? Because not only is he vile to Katie, he is absolutely awful to the guy in the Segway shop, I think treating people like that really shows what kind of person you are deep down.

Wintershealing · 22/06/2025 22:23

I remember years ago watching his fly on the wall type show and he was mad because she'd already been on a safari and actually vocalised how annoyed he was as he'd planned a trip for them. It was so odd.

oh I remember this, wasn’t he angrily stirring his tea and spilling it everywhere?! 😂

bogartysmack · 22/06/2025 23:31

Tbh it's not really any of our business is it! I really don't think we can judge on their relationship. Personally I wish them gloriously happy and contented life. Be kind people

Agreed. He also comes across as deeply unpleasant - an insecure, jealous, attention-seeking little tosser. The way he spoke to Katie when they were married was awful. His whole “Pete the Parent” persona is so fake and pathetic.

😂

Easipeelerie · 22/06/2025 23:32

I’ve wondered about this and wondered if E has ever seen the films where he’s so awful to KP. I remember at the time being horrified by how he spoke to her and the smutty language he used to denigrate her He also reminds me of Donald Trump in the way he interacts with kids. He has no idea how to listen and communicate with them so just talks in cliches. Him talking to Junior as a young child was painful to listen to.
All the above said, they clearly have a match that stands the test if time. He’s her type. She must fancy him. She’s very together and maybe he feels more comfortable with that. When he’s mean, maybe she’s more able to laugh and brush it off. You can do that more easily if your own childhood was secure.

cryptide · 22/06/2025 23:33

Donewiththisshit · 22/06/2025 22:20

She’s also the daughter of his doctor. I don’t understand how he even met her given rules around not socialising with your patients. Obviously I don’t know all the details, none of us do clearly, but I’ve always been curious about how they met.

Edited

There are no rules preventing doctors from socialising with their patients, let alone preventing their children from doing so.

tillyandmilly · 22/06/2025 23:36

I like peter! He is actually a really nice guy! Cannot believe he was with that awful KP

Beautifuldog · 22/06/2025 23:42

Apparently he met her when he was 36 & she was 20 & going to university.

n an effort to wow Emily early in their relationship, Peter rocked up at her Halls of Residence in a Lamborghini. The flashy gesture failed to hit the mark and she later told Loose Women: 'That doesn't float my boat, so I think he misjudged it slightly. Because I couldn't care less about cars or anything. But he didn't do it again, that's for sure!'
Recalling the cringeworthy moment Peter sheepishly admitted: 'I think in my thirties, I think I was having a mid-life crisis. I really do... I really liked her and it took me so long to like her. Let me rephrase that, it took me so long to realise what I was feeling.'
'Once I asked and got approval from her dad, I had to because he was my friend, I thought, "I can't stuff this up," So I have to do what I can.'

Makes a big deal of “asking permission” to date her from her father & waiting 2 further years before they started dating apparently. But I’m sure I watched a doc yrs ago where he talked about some charity work he did possibly in Africa (??) with this surgeon friend & father of Emily & her being around & as a younger woman/teen??

I find it weird but they seem happy!

DonnaBanana · 22/06/2025 23:47

Seems like silly speculation to me. I know lots of people who have different status partners or who could do a lot better but that’s love for you isn’t it. She clearly likes him as a person it’s hardly voodoo and they probably like having sex with a beautiful partner so win win for them both

zanahoria · 22/06/2025 23:51

This thread is mean and insulting in tone

Although I have pondered the question myself
