To think Peter Andre and Emily are the strangest couple?

I went down a bit of rabbit hole the other day (triggered by a random Facebook article), checking out Peter Andre and his wife Emily’s social media.

I get that he’s pretty well off (although he only had one good song so I’m not sure how well off), but how the fuck does Emily put up with him? She is obviously very intelligent, as well as beautiful, and a lot younger than him…I guess the heart wants what the heart wants but honestly the man has the IQ of a walnut, and he is also intensely irritating. I can’t imagine them having deep and meaningful conversations because I don’t think he’s capable of that.

I know this is a mean thread but it just seems like a very peculiar mismatch. Watching a 30 second reel of him on insta makes me feel stabby, how on earth does she live with him?

Yes, I think he looks after the kids. Can’t imagine being a panellist on Loose Women, and whatever else, is lucrative.
But, it looks like Princess (and probably Junior) will make big bucks!

To be really honest she doesn’t come across as that deep so maybe they’re well matched? Despite her obviously being cleverer than him academically.

We have tickets to see him singing the Jersey Boys next year …
I’ve not watched anything on YouTube but I remember watching the original series with KP and my memory is that she shot him down and belittled him constantly. It wasn’t a surprise when they separated.

But he really loves his kids....

I went to a 90s night a good few years ago and he was headlining …
the venue spent the whole night bigging him up . He was running late but he was coming , he’s on his way , who’s looking forward to the main man of the night Peter Andre …
he eventually walked out on to stage and he was dreadful . The cringe factor was sooo real . Unbuttoning his shirt whilst doing his Dad dancing . We left early coz we couldn’t take anymore .

I just can’t imagine a doctor who’s obviously highly educated finding that appealing .

I think he’s one of those people who puts on a great ‘nice guy’ image for the cameras but I’ve always found it a bit fake. I actually think there’s something quite sinister about him. Could imagine him being very controlling behind the scenes.

You're remembering it wrong. He made jibes about how she smelt down there, how no-one would want a Mum of three etc etc. She hit back saying would that not apply to a Dad of three, apparently not, according to him.
The documentary was really useful to see how much the press hated KP. They put a completely different spin on everything she did.

Yes this. I find his "nice guy" image very very contrived too.
Tbh I dont go out of my way to read about people like this in the news so doesnt impact my life.
Another one who I find incredibly nauseating is Robbie Williams. Dear God how does Ayda put up with him!!

How do you know he’s not smart? How do you know he’s not a good husband? He is clearly a good father. She’s clearly chosen him as her person and the father to his children. Weird post.

I met him once and he seemed really chilled out and lovely. Somehow very warm. I didn’t know of him previously as I don’t watch reality tv shows and I hadn’t read anything about him at the time.
But you never can tell.

I don’t think he’s as nice as he seems. Don’t like KP much either but hate the way his fans paint her as evil

OMG is an absolute dodgepot. There was a very very funny thread about him maybe 10 years ago or so. I’m suprised it hasn’t been nuked.

I don't get the hate for PE on mumsnet. Having watched the reality shows he did with KP I think she comes across as far more abusive than he was. There are a few episodes where he's clearly had enough of her and is acting somewhat dismissive but on the whole he took a whole lot of shit from her and comes across better than she does. Plus, he's gone on to make a success of a relationship and appears to be a decent father to his kids- the same can't be said of KP!

Who knows what makes celeb couples relationships tick? I recently read the Tom B book about Posh & Becks and he's listed loads of extra marital affairs (Becks).

Or indeed none celeb couples what makes them tick!! Me and DP are totally chalk and cheese. Makes life interesting ha!

I remember him defending Michael Jackson. That was enough to put me off him.

They are a minority but we know a few seemingly mismatched couples who are quite happy. The cleverer one tends to get those needs for better conversation met with clever friends. A friend has a Dh who is quite handsome and a kind chap but really not much there. Their family works well though. Just feel sorry for Dh when he gets stuck with my friends Dh!

Well…I’ve never seen even a glimmer of intelligence coming from him on TV or his social media. So unless he’s hiding his brains really well, I think it’s safe to say he’s a bit dim.

As for a good husband, thankfully I can’t comment on that.
