Showing support for terrorism is illegal so why do people do it?

Well we all know it's illegal, don't we?

It happens though. The flags, the signs, the slogans, the chants, what is said etc.

Kneecap was charged on supporting terrorism. I understand that the charges relate to things like waving the Hezbollah flag and shouting in support of terrorist organisations.

He has been bailed pending trial.

Kneecap rapper released on unconditional bail over terror charge

Kneecap's Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, aka Mo Chara, is accused of displaying a flag in support of proscribed organisation Hezbollah.

You do have to wonder how hamas gained access for such an attack, from a fortress, Did Egypt warn Israel that hamas was planning an attack.
All the innocent people slaughtered that day and the continuation of slaughtering innocent people since.
Barbaric actions.

Agreed. Can you also agree that the bombing of Gaza including many civilian targets BEFORE October 7th was also dreadful. There are no goodies and baddies in this just civilians (on both sides) caught in the middle of a seemingly unsolvable problem made worse by the leaders on both sides. I had been dreading escalations in the regions since BN returned to power. He’s made no secret of his feelings towards Palestinians. When Israel did have a leader open to negotiation and discourse (what actually led to peace in NI) he was assassinated.

Not rape murder and kidnap, it's not a lot to ask. That is some serious victim blaming you've got going on there.

No, I’m sorry that’s not good enough. It’s easy and lazy to say what you wouldn’t do. But what would you do when you hear government ministers compare you to rats, and say that you should “leave” (do you understand what being stateless means?).

You need to say what protest is valid.
For example is it valid (for Palestinians in Gaza) to burn the Israeli Flag?
How about publicly wishing on Israelis what it has doled out on your family?
How about, saying those governments and their electorates who are supporting Israel are complicit in genocide.
Hiw about marching up to the walls peacefully.
How about calling for a Boycott of Israeli products and using soft powers to ask (politely) for divestment and sanctions.
Hiw about protests outside their embassies worldwide, with Genocide flags
Hiw about saying the “Double Standards” part of anti-semitism has become an outrage of hypocrisy?

Im not sure why you're turning my post into making a comment about me and what I believe. Im simply highlighting something that is usually denied on these threads, I respionded to a post where someone implied that virtually its no wonder that the Palestinians rose up, as victims, on Oct 7th, as they are not perfect victims and I highlighted that this at least shows some honesty for once that the Palestinians support Hamas, something that is usually denied on these threads. It is usually said that Gazans/Palestinians shouldnt be attacked or seen as an enemy because they are not Hamas, but the reality is, they do support Hamas and what Hamas stands for, which is the end of Israel and attacks on Jews. Thats the bald facts of it no matter the context of how that has come to be.

It is usually said that Gazans/Palestinians shouldnt be attacked or seen as an enemy because they are not Hamas, but the reality is, they do support Hamas and what Hamas stands for, which is the end of Israel and attacks on Jews.

And I'm saying even if that is true I don't believe they should be starved, raped, tortured and killed as Is happening. Just like I don't believe Israelis should be starved, raped, tortured and killed for what they may believe.

There is a lot of hate there on both sides, ethnically cleansing Palestinians as is the current plan isn't the way to find peace even if that is what the majority of Israelis may wish for.

I haven’t seen any evidence to support the statistic you mention.

You could just try Googling it? It was widely reported.

KimberleyClark · 22/06/2025 10:09

When Israel did have a leader open to negotiation and discourse (what actually led to peace in NI) he was assassinated.

And by a Jewish extremist.

I posted about it earlier and it was ignored.

Yes and where are Egypt and Jordan in helping the Palestinians. Where are all the protests for their refusal. Well, anyone with common sense knows why Egypt and Jordan are protecting their own interests.

He picked up a flag someone threw on stage. Crime of the century.

And the appropriate response would have been to kick if off the stage. Not wave it around whilst expressing support for murderers and rapists.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 22/06/2025 10:18

@Dangermoo No. Egyptians pre warned Israel.
Candace, love her or hate her, was a prominent support for Israel and American, she made some very relevant points recently against America and Israel.
Definitely worth listening to the reasons for her change in heart.

I think the Sex Pistols pretty much took that award. There was a time they were considered a threat to established society as we knew it.

Shame on you - now where have I heard that before? Oh yes, during the Palestine rallies, when patrons are being harassed.

Well they were really (and in a way literally) cosplaying punk. Although in hindsight all the opprobrium they attracted actually helped a lot of the much more subversive acts (like the Clash) to fly a little under the radar. And - well over 40 years later - the lyrics are as powerful as ever,

Taking off his turban, they said, is this man a Jew?
'Cause working for the clampdown
They put up a poster saying we earn more than you
When we're working for the clampdown
.
.
.
(and the verse that really hits home - think of the Arab Spring, fall of the Berlin Wall ... )

Kick over the wall 'cause government's to fall
How can you refuse it?
Let fury have the hour, anger can be power
Do you know that you can use it?

hellohellooo · 08/07/2025 14:32

@Dangermoo you make no sense at all!!!
