To say that most heavy duty physical labour is done by men? When was the last time a female plumber, builder, roofer, painter and decorator, drain unblocker, or boiler or washing machine engineer came to your house?

I'm 57, but I really don't think it is better at the kind of pace that's needed.

It’s definitely not at the place it should. I don’t know if you have Instagram or TikTok but a lot of women are posting videos calling out the bullshit op is talking about. Great to see.

CountryMumof4 · 15/06/2025 21:52

There are two major employers where I live that have a LOT of female welders, sheet metal workers, electricians, joiners, engineers etc. And they do those jobs just as well as (if not better in some instances) as men. We use a female plumber and a head mechanic near us is female. So there certainly isn't a lack of women who want to and are more than capable of fulfilling those roles.

I'm really not sure what the point of your thread is, but thought I'd point out those examples.

I don't know about the UK, but you know that here in the US when all the men went off to war women did those jobs, right? You've heard of Rosie the Riveter?

That poster is just ignorant.
The same thing happened in the UK during the wars.

ghostyslovesheets · 15/06/2025 21:54

I’d never pay anyone to do painting - my lady brain is perfectly capable of doing that! Poor man, so weak he can’t lift a paint brush 🙄😂

but don’t go on strike - piss off to war so women, as has been mentioned, can run things properly

Totallymessed · 15/06/2025 21:54

If it's gardening, I actually have a chainsaw and am happy to help. I'm currently menopausal and enjoy few things more than hacking at hedges with my chainsaw.

Thats maybe because women don't want to do this kind of work. We all know that we can't beat men when it comes to sports as Navratilova said so why do we think we have the strength to clambour about on roofs or climb into sewage drains?

You are ridiculous.
We can do ALL the sports that men do. I can't think of one job where there are no women

We can "clambour on roofs" too

My painter and decorator, a Ukrainian man, is coming to my house tomorrow to complete a painting job. Must be because he wants to sexually abuse me as was stated upthread. I should have held out for a female team to do the job.

Come on OP, painting and decorating is hardly a tough, manual job, is it?

cryptide · 15/06/2025 21:56

I wish you'd just take the time to tell us what the point of this thread is, OP.

Will anyone else be able to see this "Ukrainian painter"? 🤔

I wonder what uber alpha manly Jon mr ‘ample plums’ does for a living - shuffling paper clips?

If only we could "clambour" up ladders and onto high surfaces!

Car park attendant.

ghostyslovesheets · 15/06/2025 21:59

Job! Although probably doesn’t have one (because a woman got it) and his mum is fed up of him living in her shed

I think a tree fell down in his garden, his teasmaid broke, he missed an episode of "On The Buses", and he likes Ukrainians.

BrickHare · 15/06/2025 22:02

Totallymessed · 15/06/2025 21:47

It was actually a lot easier when you could go to university for free if you were intelligent enough, instead of anyone being able to go to university, but then have to spend decades in debt. Unless your parents are rich enough to pay the fees

But whatever.

How many clever working class people went to uni when the fees were free compared to rich people? Why are there still so few working class doctors or people in the media? Because they couldn’t afford it that’s why. Doctors training is five years yet you only get four years funding. How is a working class person suppose to work 60 hours a week in placement and uni and still be able to afford the final year fees? That’s right, they can’t. And how can a working class person able to complete a media internship in London where they don’t get paid yet still be able to live. But yeah whatever I’m sure your response will be.

A woman did a bad thing - probably his mum caught him with mistress hand and her five lovely daughters

Here you go OP - currently focussed on London but it might help you ( or others) hire vetted tradeswomen

BrickHare · 15/06/2025 22:11

I would much rather have a woman tradie than a male. Judging by the OPs comments I would actually be very concerned having them in my house. There’s obviously a market for it, I suspect if things continue in terms of men hating women so publicly by incels the op may be pushed out their market by women tradies. Fingers crossed.

I think Men would be Loved even if not Useful.

They can be kind of fuzzy and warm.

It's ok, no roofs need ascended.

I assumed so, but I thought maybe not since he doesn't seem to be aware that all those jobs still needed to be done even when there were no men around to do them.

BilderbergPoop · 15/06/2025 22:15

What a revelation - some jobs are male dominated. What point are you trying to make?

I have had this discussion with misogynist men
before and they just ignore that fact as it is not convenient.

I doubt anyone is loving Gary Glitter, Ted Bundy or Jimmy Sav to name a few.
