Deflection? I asked a simple question in direct response to you:

OpheliaWasntMad · Yesterday 23:01
Well I’m Catholic and I’m horrified. We do talk about it - everyone I know is completely sickened. If you speak to Irish Catholics you would know how very strongly they feel about these atrocities. The abusers were clergy and the abuse was covered up by clergy . Not ordinary Irish Catholics. Ordinary Irish Catholic families were victims.
It will take generations for the wounds to properly heal .

Why not answer instead of...er...deflecting?

If you wish to disagree with any of my points then go ahead. I don’t have to give you personal information.
Im from an Irish Catholic family and I do know what I’m talking about if that’s what you’re getting at.

There are also a number of Sikh girls that have suffered. There's that euphemism again though. Asian. But the victims were predominately white British.

That we know of....what we do know is that this won't be where these men started their crime history. So where did they start? Gang rape is not an entry level crime. What came before and who were the victims before?

OpheliaWasntMad · 18/06/2025 16:30

I am getting really tired of the aggressive attitude on this thread.
Im on here because I am really angry at the way these girls have been betrayed for decades by the people who should have protected them .
Im angry that politicians put their careers before the safety of children.
Im angry that the public has been gaslit over and over.
Im angry that Ann Cryer and other Labour MPs were called racists for daring to talk about this topic.
Im angry that Sadiq Khan refused to answer questions about whether there were grooming gangs in London earlier this year because he said that the question was a “dog whistle “ for racists.
Im also fed up at the attitude of posters on here who are enjoying winding us up with stupid deflections.
I trust Maggie Oliver and she trusts Louise Casey so im hopeful that justice and truth will prevail

Maybe you should've sat and talked with the aggressive people before to find out the root of their aggression so they feel listened to...😉

It's highly unlikely these men don't have a history of VAWAG. I completely concur with a ppl who spoke of the women and girls affected by these men in their community who for cultural reasons, can't speak out.

Absolutely! But it is easy to pretend there aren't the same level of victims in that community or maybe people do not care that there will be many victims in that community suffering in silence. Mainly white that we know of but we damn well know there will be countless victims in their own communities that are not thought of.

The fact people think that brown kids are safe with brown paedos blows my mind!

TildaSwan · 18/06/2025 16:49

Thank you for reminding us of the point of the OP. Well said. Let the deflectors argue amongst themselves - they'll soon get bored when starved of attention.

I have no idea about the scope, sexual abuse is so rarely reported, it's difficult to ascertain. There was a report by the Muslim Women's Network which spoke of this hidden abuse, however it's outside the remit of the inquiry so we won't learn more.

I agree it is so well hidden and it is so naive of people to think that because it isn't reported it isn't happening. But it is safe to say that many of these rapists will have started with sexual assaults which is the norm in society for women to experience and then feel empowered to go onto worse sexual assaults and rape within their home turf before meeting with like minded rapists and forming gangs. Many will have gone home after raping white kids and raped their kids and wives at home. Many will have gone into fields within their communities which gave them access to kids as some paedos do - working in schools, madrassas, nursing etc. The work of the Muslim Women's Network is so important to enable victims to feel supported. I think as well that some people do not want these uncovering either as it puts a different spin on things. An uncomfortable truth for some.

Thank you for Saying this.

I'm also sick and tired of the random 'colour' related questions trying to get me to admit I'm racist. When without hyperbolic declarations- quite simply: I'm not.

Its how we got here isn't it ? They'll be looking over their shoulders for a very long time waiting for a pat on the back from the group they're trying to virtue signal to....

A perfect example of just one of the reasons people are turning to Reform. This elected man's disingenuous regard towards the victims of the very real grooming gangs is infuriating. There's so much ore I could say about him but this isn't the thread for it.

You said you wanted to talk about groups of different ethnicities. You said you were pissed at not being able to talk about it.

I said yes you can. Which you didn't respond to because you didn't want to hear that comment.

Then when I asked you a question about a group of different ethnicity you then spit your dummy out and say you don't want colour related questions. I was opening up discussions about another ethnicity for us to talk about as you said you wanted to but apparently not so.

You yourself said you wanted to talk about groups of different ethnicities. I then offered to talk about it. You then said you do not want to talk about it.

Make your bloody mind up!

And no one is calling you racist. That is the label you are giving yourself for some reason.

It's impossible he doesn't know. It's been going on for ever.

I went to uni in London in 1981. If a male friend walked me home from the tube to halls, there were Pakistani men in cars who would pull up beside us and offer him money to sleep with me. They were disgusting. And that was more than 40 years ago.

Sadiq Khan is sickening. He should be utterly ashamed of himself.

I never said any of what you've just said.

Luckily other posters can read.

You clearly don't think the ethnicity of the Pakistani men is in anyway important to the formation of these grooming gangs. Fair comment. It seems a report that looks at in very fine detail thinks different. So perhaps email the key author and take your deflections and whatabouttery up with them? Your attitude is fast going out of fashion.

A sensible answer. But, no, not according to a couple of hell-bent posters on here. It's only racist, gammon thugs that are turning to reform. Their opinion is "right think" remember. Everyone else is wrong and a racist in denial.

Here you go. You said you want to be able to speak out about the heritage of grooming gangs. I said grand lets talk.

Then I ask a question about black gangs and you cry about not wanting to talk about it. So yes let them read what you said.

Exactly. Brown girls face the threat of child marriage and, in extreme cases, of ‘honour killing’ if they refuse. And too many go through FGM to ‘keep them pure’. I have no doubt that those men who abused white WC girls also abused girls in their own families. It will be very under reported, especially with the shame involved.

I really don’t get why it has to be a competition? All victims of SA have suffered as a result of misogyny and denial.

You then started asking me about black people !? Honestly, you're coming across oddly
