Why are people put heating on before putting on a hoodie/jumper

Seen photos and posts with people saying that they have put on their heating on. Some photos have people wearing short sleeves! Just put on a hoodie, jumper or cardi! That costs nothing. Heating - varies depending on how big the home is, type of heating, efficiency etc.

I have not had my heating on since around Easter. My energy account is about £80 in credit.

I don’t “put the heating on”

it kicks in when the temp goes below 20, because I live in a Victorian house and don’t want it to get damp.

And those who work outside in those temperatures?

It is totally different to not heating your home. Houses without heating get damp and mouldy and that is what’s bad for the health. Plus people who work outside for 8 hours get to go home and get warm after. If your house is never warm, what then?

This. Our bedroom gets quite damp if the heating is not used once the condensation-mornings start and it really triggers DH’s asthma.

Easy to tell some on here are lucky enough not to be afflicted with respiratory issues. Air temperature makes a huge difference to many of us who do.

It’s more of a cost thing for me. If I’m cold I will put jumper in socks etc.But if I’m still cold then I will put the heating on, I won’t sit and shiver.
Haven’t needed it yet but it’s definitely cold early this year.
