To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

I think it’s, for Meghan, an excuse to put anything up of herself.. the 2 photos marking Lilibet’s birthday were of both her and Lilibet.
She’s quite happy to constantly parade herself around, talking about every part of her life with her “Fox” that is “H”, yet they so desperately needed privacy!
She didn’t enjoy being part of the royal family “firm”, and had every right not to, especially as an already semi-famous American. But rather than cutting their losses and saying look, this isn’t for us and we’re going to enjoy our lives away from the press and screens. In fact they have done the total opposite and yet they really resent the royal family but also feel they are owed so much by them.

Meghan is the worst thing that could’ve happened to Harry and he must know the pain of it all has been worse than he could’ve imagine.

What will be interesting is when Meghan feels out of control when the children want to visit their royal relatives (and of course they will want to see it all when they understand if) and how she will cope with that.

But yeah, the dancing labor video to me is just another “I want to be trending!” Moment of hers, boring.. move on.

It's 4 years old. Why didn't she post it 4 years ago? It's just cringe and attention seeking to post it this late.

She posted it to mark Lilibet's 4th birthday.

And I think what a PP said about them trying to disprove the moonbump comments that have been around lately might be true.

If I was them I'd be posting it to wind them all up 😂It's a moonbump is it? look watch me dance with my moonbump, and also fuck you 😆
And i really hope that's their reason too 😂

looked like 2 people having fun. but sadly feeds the meghanbash topic on here.
she only has to smile and there is a thread about it.

Honestly.. most of us are able to understand the concept of consent. You can say no at one time and then say yes at another time and it be perfectly acceptable.

The point is, they wanted to have the right to share what they want to share, when they want to share it, not have that right taken away from them by people jumping in front of their cars and mobbing them to take pictures without their consent.

It really is a simply concept to understand.

Great - so when their kid gets teased at school over it, because unlike the lesser mortals who don’t have 1m+ followers, this cringey video of the moment will be widely available to all - they can be safe in the knowledge that this was entirely avoidable had it not been for their parents insatiable need for positive PR. Which this failed to provide anyway.

Sunholidays · 05/06/2025 12:01

Very classy indeed

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 05/06/2025 12:02

The bump is super weird, especially when she hoiks it up to a peak mid dance - like a pillow

The OP brought it to AIBU. What do you expect? I hadn't seen it until just now.

AndyouWILLATONE · 05/06/2025 12:03

I think it's fine if they filmed it for their own personal home video collection but to post it for the whole world to see is cringe +++++++

SummerEve · 05/06/2025 12:04

x2boys · 05/06/2025 11:55

Right ,but you would still have to actually choose to watch it or read about it.

You are rather splitting hairs now aren’t you?! Of something is all over the place it’s hard to avoid any engagement with it.

LittleAlexHornesPocket · 05/06/2025 12:04

People who complain about them wanting privacy whilst being in the public eye:

Do you complain about the Clooneys never sharing images of their family for privacy concerns? Or the host of other celebs who act similarly?

Just how much information do you think they should share? What about other celebs? How often they go to the loo? When they last showered?

Why is it not ok for Harry and Megan to have boundaries? Do you feel the same for other celebrities?

So she posted a video of her dancing during labour to mark her daughter's birthday. Personally on my daughter's birthday I make the day about her with presents and cake and a grandparents visit. Oh silly me she as abandoned both sets of grandparents

JustAnInchident · 05/06/2025 12:05

The only issue I had with it really was the posting it online. As a personal memory, it’s kind of sweet. As something online, I feel like it’s a bit… much for me personally, particularly as apparently wanting privacy seems to be their angle.

Maybe just the little question of whose son Harry is.

But that's their parenting choice.

Edited

So because she posted a video of a memory concerning her daughter's birth, that means her daughter didn't get any attention from them, no cake or presents and no family.
What a silly comment.

I liked the video it was endearing and cute.

Harry is his mother’s son to a tee. Tonnes and tonnes of warmth and personality but he attracts a tonne of hate some of it you can see why people feel irked by his behaviour as he does behave like a spoilt Prince but never nearly as irked as the haters feel. His mother was the exact same, people forget but she was slagged off in the papers morning, noon and night. Harry can’t dance for shite though.

MM has the moves.

Generally I don’t mind MM she has, as we say in Ireland, “notions” but I like her.

They are just like the rest of us flawed as hell and blind to the flaws.

Pretty shitty parenting choice. Oh and it's not even parenting

lljkk · 05/06/2025 12:09

I haven't seen the video. I can't have an opinion about what it shows.

I am curious about their business model, though. I get that MM wants to be an influencer, she chose public life, going from Actress to Influencer fits with her life trajectory. I wonder what PH thinks he is, though. The Royals are stuck with being in public eye because they get indoctrinated to it, told it's their 'duty' to engage with public & put up with public scrutiny. Kate & Will seem to have an understanding with press about keeping paparazzi out of their children's lives & in return they share pictures of family life (although Kate came a cropper with some editing.). Anyway, this kind of video release is similar to what the in-England Royals do but it's not similar... because it's meant to be monetised in some way.

All The Royals never seem to like being in public eye, and the ones in UK would do less engagement outside formal events if they could. Harry could literally seize some freedom, move to a very different way of making his crust, not taking Influencer type role. Does he see it as his 'duty' to support his wife as Influencer? His duty and perogative to diss his relatives publicly, like does he think he's doing something good for the RF with these actions? Can he only make money for aspects related to his relationships with relatives, including MM now? Does he have another identity or way to make money? I wonder if he sees personal growth in what's happened. Or is he just another survivor....

SuzieBishop · 05/06/2025 12:11

saw it, scrolled by and moved on with my life.

Leo800 · 05/06/2025 12:15

It’s really trashy & not remotely funny.

LaLaLaLavaChChChChicken · 05/06/2025 12:15

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:25

Absolutely. It's weird, and makes me worry for the future of humanity, the way people just make up their minds on someone based on what the media tells them.

You’ve made up your mind using the same info everyone else has, including numerous interviews and Spare, Harry’s own words. What makes them wrong and you right, or vice versa?

People in the reign of Elizabeth I had an opinion of her based on not knowing her personally. Same with every other person in the public eye before and since. People make up their minds about Jesus based on what they have been told or read. Same with making their minds up about a new Headteacher in a school, it can be anyone at all. The office cleaner you never see because he works nights. People read or hear things, make up their minds.

Watching a video and thinking it is cringe is possible, even if you are otherwise generally favourable towards them. People have opinions.

There are other reasons to fear for humanity. YABU for not posting in the Royal Family topic.
