To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:18

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

I think they are trying to disprove all the 'moonbump' accusations. There have been a couple of posts by Meghan recently that have made me think that. The other one was some kind of photo collage that she posted (featuring a photo of her bump).

I think they look happy and they seem to have fun together. It would be nice to think so. How they intend to fund their life just appears very unclear.

HRTQueen · 05/06/2025 11:47

I thought it was funny

And no doubt will have many frothing, if you can't win them over just laugh at their ridiculous stupidity at being so over involved

whoamI00 · 05/06/2025 11:47

It's not the dance, it's just weird that they shared such a private video on their daughter's special day. Who would do that? Would you?

minipie · 05/06/2025 11:47

This is the first thing I’ve seen from them which actually comes across as relatable and genuine. Taken on its own, I like it, much more than their other “content”.

However I also agree with this They wanted privacy, but then keep popping up, go away, you wanted privacy

x2boys · 05/06/2025 11:47

Pricelessadvice · 05/06/2025 11:45

Yeh, fun for them in private. I genuinely don’t see any reason to share it because it’s not fun to other people, is it? Why would I want to see a random woman dancing and twerking?
Can people not just do things in private anymore? Why does everything have to be for social media ‘show’?

You know you are not compelled to watch it ?
People post all kinds of crap on line so what ?

The thread asks for our thoughts on it. Those are my thoughts.

In all fairness it has been hard to avoid since yesterday afternoon

No they wanted privacy on their terms.
There, s a big difference in posting stuff thru want to post and having the press intrude in everything they do.

Yesterday it was on several of the main news channels, all over social media and it’s in the papers today

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:42

Maybe thats the point

I understand someone not wanting the world’s media to focus in on a photo they had put up for their child’s 4th birthday. Privacy is important.

So if I was that person, and had an open Instagram account (or wherever these things are posted) I would not have put a photo up of said four year old.

And having done it anyway, I would not have encouraged the media/attention by putting up a video of myself heavily pregnant, twerking.

Because privacy is important sometimes, but lots of the time it really isn’t important, is it?

I think it was a thing at the time?
Some folks love a TikTok challenge.

I moved loads, just before labour.
Didn’t make any difference, but still…

I walked twelve miles on my due date. Made sod all difference either!

It’s terribly dorky is my main response.

Hysterectomynext · 05/06/2025 11:53

Maybe they’re thinking it’s a bit less cringe than the podcast interview? My face is still hurting from watching that.
perhaps they thought- the public haven’t seen our cute dance….. YET

I wish we had some kind of Mumsnet Royal Family forum that all these shite threads can sit in.

Oh wait… we do.

😆 😆

minipie · 05/06/2025 11:53

They wanted privacy on their terms. Harry knows better than anyone that that isn’t an option.

You want fame and all the benefits of fame - fine, but then you will also be followed around and/or commented on in the press. Or you can choose NOT to be particularly famous (like other Royals have done) and you get left alone - but then you don’t get a ££££ Netflix deal and you’d have to live off your not insubstantial personal wealth 🎻

They are wanting to have their cake and eat it.

No but nobody cares who I am
Where' as some folk take great delight in examining H&M,s every move.

Willyoujustbequiet · 05/06/2025 11:54

Perfectly fine for private memories.

Harry is as thick as mince if he can't understand why posting that publicly is not appropriate given he's the son of the king.

They claim to want privacy then post this?....

They are grabby and selfish. I'm not a massive Royalist by any means but it must be mortifying for Charles and William.

No awareness at all.

Right ,but you would still have to actually choose to watch it or read about it.

There are literally thousands of random women sharing videos of them dancing online. Hundreds of thousands. Maybe millions, and they are everywhere. There are probably women posting on this thread who have shared a dancing video on tiktok. Meghan is just one of these random women, none of whom you have to watch.

OP posts:
Dangermoo · 05/06/2025 11:58

WTF have I just watched?

Laserwho · 05/06/2025 11:58

It's 4 years old. Why didn't she post it 4 years ago? It's just cringe and attention seeking to post it this late.

ThatCyanCat · 05/06/2025 11:59

It was silly of them to release it and make it public, but they have a knack for that sort of thing.

Happyher · 05/06/2025 11:59

I just can’t fathom out why they’ve put it out and why now? It’s probably my age but I found it quite vulgar

FoodAppropriation · 05/06/2025 12:00

Made me smile.
Of course that's the sort of video that pops up around your child birthday, what mother doesn't remember that time?

It's sweet that Meghan doesn't take herself seriously, and they both do their own thing without giving 2 hoots for the haters. They get criticised anyway, might as well go for it.

Proves that leaving the country was the right decision for them.
