To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:18

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

I think Meghan and harry detractors are rapidly shrinking and looking petty and a bit ridiculous

Sorry - quoting from a quote, so don't know who posted this.

What makes you think that? If you have hard evidence, please give it.

I say that because I get absolutely the opposite impression! I think there are very few people left except for crazy sugars who are not thoroughly embarrassed by them.

They just keep doing more and more embarrassing, undignified and tacky things. If that's making them more popular than I can only think that there are a lot of very tacky people out there!

There is probably no evidence to support either view point as they are subjective.
Unless the views of your personal circle and a select group of media outlets you choose to read count as concrete evidence.

Also, interested to understand who H&M are to you that you would ever need to feel ‘embarrassed by them’

We are all different, but why does being or doing something different to what you choose to do deserve some of the nasty and very personal comments which always crop up in these forums?

That's the thing there's no such thing as bad publicity .

Maybe you should tell Michael Barrymore that

Totallymessed · 06/06/2025 13:55

@LaLaLaLavaChChChChicken Many of us have watched W and H grow up. Seen a lot of them in the media. Taken a passing interest in their lives because of their role in the history of the U.K. Opinions on Harry have changed massively since he released Spare. I liked him more when he was trekking to the Arctic, visiting children for charity projects etc. Whinging is not something I want to hear from a multi millionaire, whoever it is.

Agree with this. I think it shows that the Windsor PR team must have put a huge amount of effort into maintaining a good image for him. Since leaving he just mainly gives the impression of being a spiteful and paranoid overgrown child.

It’s literally just the monitor.
I’ve given birth ten times, that’s how it looks with a monitor under your nightie/dressing gown.
Loosen the tin foil hat, maybe?

Yes. You are very much allowed to be left to “prat around” in the delivery room.
Even with my many high risk deliveries I didn’t have someone in with me at all times, and we were encouraged to move around the room etc.

Ever heard of setting up a camera? Who says someone was filming? Easy to just prop one up and hit record.
Why? Because they wanted to. Simple as that. Their labour, their baby, their choice.
Why post it on social media? Why Post anything on social media? Because they wanted to. Again, very simple.

Not sure why all that was so very difficult for you to deduct yourself, but I’m glad I could try to clear that up for you.

Don’t let me detract from you making a snarky reply to my comment though, I’m sure you’ll come up with one.
Unfortunately for you, won’t be reading it.
Family to take care of and I don’t buy into bullcrap, I’ve wasted enough time typing this.

Enjoy your spiteful thread 🫶

🙄

CurlewKate · 06/06/2025 13:59

What’s a “crazy sugar”?

Totallymessed · 06/06/2025 14:00

CurlewKate · 06/06/2025 09:11

No-I have FB and TicToc and Instagram as well. Didn’t appear on my feed on any of them.

Not sure why it’s “creepy”! But my point is that if you want to avoid H&M content it’s easy to do. I appear to have done it without even trying!

You know that's because your feed is curated by what you've shown interest in in the past, right? And Mumsnet doesn't work like that, so if you want to avoid discussion about them on here you need to.....not click on the threads.

DipsyDee · 06/06/2025 14:03

BustingBaoBun · 06/06/2025 04:32

Goodness me. I suggest you step back and stop reading every single thing you can find on them in every media outlet all over everywhere
I don't know much of that because I don't care to spend my life working myself up into a ridiculous frenzy about two people who don't affect me.
P.s. I suggest that if you insist on reading this click bait, you don't take it all as gospel. It's gossip designed to draw ppl like you in, and sell clicks

I thought the dancing was funny and their choice to put out.

Is it really so hard for you to believe that people have based their opinions the pair by what has come out of their own mouths? Heaven l knows they’ve done enough spouting off. Are you really that lazy to fall for the “you all believe what the media tells you” rubbish. I can assure you that I know myself better than you and have based my opinion solely on what they have said

DipsyDee · 06/06/2025 14:07

Ukisgaslit · 06/06/2025 09:17

@Scentedjasmin
I saw that you trying to address me

You are wrong in your assumptions in a number of areas .
Firstly I am aware that Spare is from Harry’s point of view and I set that view against the context of a heavily pro establishment uk media landscape
I am only interested in Harry’s revelations re the royal machinery and most if not all has been proven by events
Media literacy in this country is poor . I’d point to the differing treatment given to Meghan and Kate when they did the same things:
Kate eats an avocado she’s healthy
Meghan eats an avocado she’s destroying the rainforest
Kate has certain flowers in bouquet- English rose
Meghan had same items- she’s trying to injure children
Many people do not even notice that they are being manipulated .

The media gets away with it because any people do not question what they are told . I see it here all the time - people regurgitating the general media view of Spare but not reading it for example

As for the royals leaking to the media, posters above have said they do not believe that happens - my source for that is journalists themselves ! So called ‘royal experts’ are on film describing how the ‘palaces’ contact them to get their favoured view out or to continue their Charles / William bitch fest . It’s not a secret .

Look at the media treatment of the channel 4 expose of the William and Charles Duchy scandal . Barely covered in the media .
Where is the pressure from the media for William and Charles to return the millions they have taken from public services ? Barely a whisper .

🥱

Of course you’re allowed to criticise! What you can’t do is claim that H&M are unavoidable. Which is the reason SOME people give for commenting.

Of course you can claim that so don’t go telling other mumsneters what they can and can’t do.

As I've said before I just find it amusing that posters who dislike these threads and get so worked up about them come on them to comment.

It's the pot and the kettle to another level!

Don't any of you have washing up to do or laundry it won't wash themselves.

Your intentions isn't good though you want controversy. Posters who want to talk about H&M don't want to talk about what you want to talk about. You can start your own thread and slag them off to your heart's content.

Do you know what is interesting about you Busting is that you get incredibly triggered by anyone who displays a different opinion that yours. You claim it doesn’t bother you but yet you reply so quickly to every single person who disagrees with you so it obviously triggers something in you. I’ve been reading through this thread and your replies are incredibly passive aggressive to other people and you are coming across as bullying. Are you incapable of having a respectful conversation with anyone who disagrees with you? You can’t make people change their minds through the force of your will.

No no they want to click on them to tell off the Markle critics. What they can't see however is they can't seem to follow their own advice of 'scroll on by if it you don't like it'.
One rule of them another for us, as Harry is a great advocate of too.

Not true you can not comment as you wish. Not all threads work in that way unless you have other intentions. Not everyone who comes on the internet wants a slanging match. Goading particular posters who are easily wound up is not in the spirit of Mumsnet.

Lifestooshort71 · 06/06/2025 15:24

I was surprised when I saw the video and had to check it wasn't a spoof. It was taken at a really relaxed happy time for them both and it's good to see how playful and fun they can be!
