To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

we are all giving our opinions on the dance but if you are honestly saying that you don’t think that SOME posters are annoyed about H&M then you haven’t been reading the posts

No-I have FB and TicToc and Instagram as well. Didn’t appear on my feed on any of them.

Yes. You are very much allowed to be left to “prat around” in the delivery room.
Even with my many high risk deliveries I didn’t have someone in with me at all times, and we were encouraged to move around the room etc.

Ever heard of setting up a camera? Who says someone was filming? Easy to just prop one up and hit record.
Why? Because they wanted to. Simple as that. Their labour, their baby, their choice.
Why post it on social media? Why Post anything on social media? Because they wanted to. Again, very simple.

You are wrong in your assumptions in a number of areas .
Firstly I am aware that Spare is from Harry’s point of view and I set that view against the context of a heavily pro establishment uk media landscape
I am only interested in Harry’s revelations re the royal machinery and most if not all has been proven by events
Media literacy in this country is poor . I’d point to the differing treatment given to Meghan and Kate when they did the same things:
Kate eats an avocado she’s healthy
Meghan eats an avocado she’s destroying the rainforest
Kate has certain flowers in bouquet- English rose
Meghan had same items- she’s trying to injure children
Many people do not even notice that they are being manipulated .

The media gets away with it because any people do not question what they are told . I see it here all the time - people regurgitating the general media view of Spare but not reading it for example

As for the royals leaking to the media, posters above have said they do not believe that happens - my source for that is journalists themselves ! So called ‘royal experts’ are on film describing how the ‘palaces’ contact them to get their favoured view out or to continue their Charles / William bitch fest . It’s not a secret .

Look at the media treatment of the channel 4 expose of the William and Charles Duchy scandal . Barely covered in the media .

Do you have specific examples of H&M speaking to the parts of the media they have issues with?

There are many people in every day life who have the capacity to irritate - actually we all do because as humans we are different and do not have the same interests including types of dancing and listening to different types of music.

If you saw two people arrive at the same location in the street playing the same music and dancing in a way you dislike, day after day, would you walk up to them and tell them that you are sick of them and that you are now scrutinising their every move?

I absolutely agree. But I don’t want to avoid critical comment. If I wanted to I wouldn’t click on Mumsnet threads about them. I’m just pointing out that the people who claim that they only comment because they can’t avoid H&M’s content are being disingenuous.

Some people would find it painful or extremely difficult to dance like Meghan did at 41 weeks pregnant. There are others that could do the exact same thing, if they wanted to.

Do you class others in this world as odd based on their decisions which differ from how you choose to live your life or because they are possibly skilled in ways that you or the people you know are not?

My first thought when it cropped up on my FB feed was that it was a deep fake tbh. Then I saw it was a mainstream newspaper. I shrugged and scrolled on. We live in strange times where media exposure is at our fingertips and we have to performatively hustlin public to earn a crust.

I'm old, jaded and cynical, and have too much of my own shit to give a hoot what the glitterati get up to - I'm just glad I'm not one of them.

She was hoping for everyone to disparage it. Not one single person did, not the public nor her guests. Indeed it was called joyful and sweet. She looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp!

I think most of my kith and kin think they are completely irrelvant and are bemused by media covering them all the time.

I'm only aware of dancing due to this thread being on trending yesterday and then on my thread watch. Middle aged couple put out video of them dancing - I mean it's odd but harmeless.

It's the ultiamte cringe and who cares if Kate had reconnected with nature on their many of thousands of acres estates. It's borderline Marie Antoinette with trees.

I actually thought it was AI/ CGI'd as it seemed at odds with their 'leave me alone' thing they bang on about.

I say that because I get absolutely the opposite impression! I think there are very few people left except for crazy sugars who are not thoroughly embarrassed by them.

I did not say they are becoming more popular but I think the hatred for them is dissipating and it's more 'really don't care'.
