To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

It will be a very interesting day when / if it is ever found to be true that she used a surrogate for one or both of her children. That will finish the pair of them ( H and M) once and for all.

Posters like you really need help.

I think it’s sweet. I think some people enjoy hating on them but I’d rather not personally.

Supposed to be the Royal Family sub-forum but it's regulars seem to spenf 95% of their time bitching about ex-Royals. You would think the royalists would have enough to crow about on the postive side - Camilla , Kate's nature videos, Edward and Sophie doing stuff that nobody cares about but apprently not !!!!

Nah that's boring, they're boring. There's nothing like getting your teeth into a pathetic conspiracy theory like Meghan didn't have her babies!
Far more satisfying to be hateful and spread rumours Apparently

Why does it bother you so?

I mean why does it bother you that I am bothered by it?

I don't know about this? I know his (JC) daughter was disgusted with him, again rightly so but when is an apology enough? I don't know the ins & outs but again Harry is telling all & sundry about what Jeremy did or didn't do, it just seems they (H&M) thrive on this kind of thing & again we only have Harry's version, as far as I know Jeremy hasn't addressed it after the apology, which personally I think is the right thing, draw a line under it & move on & I think it's that which H & M are incapable of

Here's what Harry and Meghan said at the time:

“On 25 December 2022, Mr Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.
“The contents of his correspondence were marked private and confidential.
While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his longstanding pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny.
Unless each of his other pieces were also written ‘in a hurry’, as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.”

So they are not disclosing whether he apologised to Meghan in the letter/email he wrote, quite rightly as it was marked confidential. But they are addressing the fact that he wrote solely to Harry and the fact that he continuing says hateful stuff so his apology isn't good enough and I actually find it somewhat commendable that they want to address the entirety of what he writes, and not just what affects them.

I don’t really get how 2 moody black and white photos of her and a video of her gyrating represent a 4 year old’s birthday.

Or why we all need to see them, considering they wanted PRIVAAAAAAACYYYYYY.

Dabralor · 05/06/2025 18:34

I saw it and thought, aww, that's cute and a little bit cringe. New parents, eh.

I finished thinking about it shortly after.

That is the sum total of my thoughts.

I think it's commensurate with the overall importance of the video generally.

No, they wanted COONNNSSEEEENNNTTT and COONNTRROOLLL over what they share and when, not PRIVAAAAAAACYYYYYY.

It's been explained many times on this thread already. They never said "don't look at us" they said "please enjoy the things we share but please don't jump on our car bonnets or spy on us using long lenses" which most normal humans would think is fair enough.

I'd imagine it was sent to Harry because maybe he (JC) felt that it could have been "lost" had it been sent to MM, they both seem to have previous for twisting the narratives, JC has a lot of opinions & not all of them good

I'm really not trying to be argumentative I just find them both disingenuous, as for them addressing wrongful opinions in the media, it seems like they pick & choose

That's a bit of a reach tbh. It's very easy to prove you sent an email and it's not hard to copy in two people and address it to the right person. He was her he owed the apology to.
He has form for being misogynistic, since way before Meghan and Harry were a thing. I honestly believe he thought apologising to a woman's husband was the way to go.

cumbriaisbest · 05/06/2025 18:56

How's her jam busiess? Why don't they build some wells or finance some toilets or do something useful?

Scorchio84 · 05/06/2025 18:57

@comeandhaveteawithme I understand what you're saying & yes JC is a misogynist, it's nearly a feather in his cap, so it didn't surprise me that he'd take it to the "royal" rather than MM but then you look at the other royals who have shit said against/about them & they just ignore it, I just think H&M should rise above it, no reasonable person believes most of the vitriol that's spouted but it's their reaction, court cases, boo hoo interviews that gets peoples backs up

YellowHere · 05/06/2025 19:00

It's non offensive and I guess a quite sweet moment between a couple as they excitedly prepare for the birth of their child.

I wouldn't share it though, or even think about filming a moment like that. It is a fun, private moment. That's the only odd thing about it and what makes it a bit cringe. In the same way one of my [middle aged, same age as me] friendly acquaintances went through a phase of posting 'fun and quirky' videos of herself dancing in her kitchen on IG.

If it is to attempt to put the surrogacy rumours to bed then I guess that is understandable but doubt even that will work. I'm in the camp that suspects she may have used a moonbump not to fake pregnancy but to enhance it and make it more noticeable - in the same wear she wore overly tight clothes, cupped her bump and kept flicking her coat.

my dad really dislikes them for some random reason, he complains when they are in his newspaper of choice

i do not understand why, if you think someone is that awful, you would give them any attention…just ignore them 🤷🏻

It isn't the 80s. They aren't Diana getting chased down the street by paps much as they tried to pretend their situation was the same.
They had consent and control.
The US gossip rags are as withering about them as the UK Evil Media.
It is their awful gossipy, delusional behaviour that has always been the problem, nothing to do with 'consent' or 'control'.
