To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:18

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

You could say thst about any of them why dont they do something useful rather thsn ponce around opening things and giving insincere speeches.

It's their job to 'ponce about opening things'. The RF do lots of 'useful' things. Granted they don't go on tacky chat shows, write trashy books breaching everyone else's privacy or run waaah'ing to the nasty media. They do lots of charity stuff you must google them sometime.

Yes, as I said, I regard them all as useless and selfish.

Well look how well that went. Youd think Harry would have learnt that airing his dirty laundry in public wouldn't endear him to anyone.

I repeat they had consent and control, to a degree anyway. They certainly weren't allowed their Sussex Royal USA! Franchise which is what caused the strops amd the flounce.

StrawberryWater · 05/06/2025 19:46

Cringe.

But overall I like Harry and Meghan. I think the hate is utterly ridiculous and a lot of it of it comes from very odd and disturbed people.

How can you like anyone who a) says he wants privacy b) does everything to seek publicity and c) criticises their closest family in public and in books? (when they know the family can't and won't respond publicly.) And one of those family has cancer and another had. Despicable.

Avantiagain · 05/06/2025 19:54

It's cringe sharing it but I'd think it was cringe whoever was sharing it.

BadDinner · 05/06/2025 20:08

YellowHere · 05/06/2025 19:00

It's non offensive and I guess a quite sweet moment between a couple as they excitedly prepare for the birth of their child.

I wouldn't share it though, or even think about filming a moment like that. It is a fun, private moment. That's the only odd thing about it and what makes it a bit cringe. In the same way one of my [middle aged, same age as me] friendly acquaintances went through a phase of posting 'fun and quirky' videos of herself dancing in her kitchen on IG.

If it is to attempt to put the surrogacy rumours to bed then I guess that is understandable but doubt even that will work. I'm in the camp that suspects she may have used a moonbump not to fake pregnancy but to enhance it and make it more noticeable - in the same wear she wore overly tight clothes, cupped her bump and kept flicking her coat.

When I carried both my sons I was super slim, ahhh nostalgia😔 and I carried straight out in front, HUGELY out in front. It looked ridiculous frankly. I remember when I went back to work a colleague said 'I didn't know you were pregnant!!' I said 'how on earth did you miss it?I had a helicopter landing pad!'

We worked out that in the later months of my pregnancy he had always just observed me from behind, walking away somewhere😂

I wore platform heels all the way through and ran full speed for buses and trains just fine. I could have danced if I wanted to. Thankfully I am not high profile enough for people to accuse my bump of being faked or exaggerated and my pregnancy of being unreal.

I really think actually that the Royal Family should put out a supportive statement squashing these rumours. It's not a good look that they let them continue and yes, that's despite what MM and PH have done. It undermines the validity of the Royal Succession and the children's titles.

The RF needs to start presenting a united front. A 'that was the past, this is the present' united royal 'abroad and home' theme. A lot of people are starting to ask what they are for (which I don't agree with, but understand the sentiments)

Notice no one is resenting MM and H their relatively modest income, though they might mick them, in comparison to W&K, KC&C who people criticise for their wealth.

Choosechoclate · 05/06/2025 20:09

Well they look happy enough. I thought she was supposed to be feeling suicidal in the UK and at the time he was worried about being able to protect her. Doesn’t seem to fit the narrative. They look too untroubled.

I know what they do and only Charles flies the flag.

William and Kate put out poncey walking through cornfields nonsense and then sit in a tree stump gazing wistfully at each other. 🤮

Absolutely nothing to do with what I said about unnecessarily elective (elective means for no clinical indication) caused by media coverage.

That's not remotely accurate - elective just means it was planned before the birth. Nothing to do with clinical indication. HTH.

Nope. That was when she was pregnant with Archie. Lilibet was born in the US, long after they had left the UK and the family.
So yes, it does fit the narrative, if you engage your brain for a moment.

I think they should have put out a supportive statement about a lot of things TBH. Calling out Jeremy Clarkson would have been nice. I suppose speaking out against the shitty things said in the media was too much to ask since they most likely planted them in the first place.

They were quick enough to defend lady whatshername after her "where are you really from?" shite but they would, wouldn't they? because they need to defend their image.

I was refused gas and air in labour as i looked ‘too happy’

you didn’t happen to be a midwife down south about 27 years ago did you?

Janiie · 05/06/2025 20:52

'They were quick enough to defend lady whatshername after her "where are you really from?"

They didn't defend her. BP released a statement saying they did not tolerate racism. They threw lady whatshername under a bus.

The Markles however let the 'the rf are racist' story following their Opra blabberthon to run and run then Harold denied they'd even said it. Recollections not being their strong point as we all know.

boxset · 05/06/2025 21:00

In the context of all said and done, they’re vile attention seekers. I feel so sorry for their families.

SquirrelMadness · 05/06/2025 21:04

I like it, I think it's quite cute and funny. Anyone who isn't interested doesn't have to watch it.

It seems like lots of people are just obsessed with hating Meghan for reasons that I've never understood. I generally don't see that much news about her because I'm not really all that interested in the royal family, I do find it interesting that so many people have such vitriol towards her though. People seem to seek out news about her just so they can get angry about it, so strange.

jljlj · 05/06/2025 21:07

I couldn’t give a shit about their dancing and don’t really think anything about that.

What I do think, however, is that they are shockingly attention seeking people. This wasn’t to mark the kid’s birthday, this was to get attention as per bloody usual. You mark a 4yo’s birthday by getting them a cake, a party with their little mates, taking them somewhere they’d love to go etc. Not by getting your face splashed over the world’s media AGAIN for the umpteenth time after you demanded privacy. They wanted privacy. Take the privacy and stop splashing yourselves everywhere all the time. WTF.

Janiie · 05/06/2025 21:11

'I like it, I think it's quite cute and funny. Anyone who isn't interested doesn't have to watch it'

It's all over the internet and the msm. Hard to avoid. Its a private coupley thing sadly they don't understand how not to overshare in their quest for attention.

Well, personally, I used to love her in Suits. Fantastic actress, glitzy and fun - I celebrated her marrying harry at a friend’s house. Thought it was lovely for harry to marry someone so cool. But then the never ending stream of lies and fallouts began with the wish for privacy alongside endless publicity seeking. and that’s why I can’t stand her or him. I honestly don’t understand why they keep seeking attention. Why release this dance? Why not just show the child privately at home? It’s a pathological need for media attention. I can’t stand people like that, particularly when they wanted privacy.

I don’t seek out news about her - it’s splashed all over the internet, including on here.

No, the hate comes from ordinary people who can’t stand people who say one thing (privacy) and do another (relentless quest for attention) - alongside trashing both their families and countless friends. It’s weird and annoying and constantly in our faces.
