To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

Well they're not earning any money from us wittering away about them. Will it make anyone watch more than one dull episode from "Series 2" 🤔 of her Netflix show?

Yes of course it will even if it's just so they can rip it to shreds

WilfredsPies · 05/06/2025 15:12

@comeandhaveteawithme

What risk does he present to the Windsors?
Every risk. He's a family member who will be privvy to a lot of information.
Well clearly not that much information or he would have sold a lot more books and been paid a lot more by Oprah.

He’s so daft the Queen would barely have trusted him to give the corgis a walk around the grounds.
And yet trusted to fly a Helicopter in a war zone
That’s really funny. Have you ever been out on a Saturday night in a town with a barracks in it? Some of those blokes are trusted with all sorts of military hardware. Operating a machine, even a helicopter, is training. You follow instructions. If A happens then you do B. All that means is that he can follow instructions when they’re drilled into him repeatedly. What it doesn’t do is give him the sense to know that he shouldn’t be talking about how many people he shot.

They certainly won’t have trusted him with any of the really dirty, dark secrets that probably do exist.
And how do you know this? He's a grandson and son of two monarchs and brother of an heir. Of course he knows the inner workings.
I don’t know this. It’s an opinion. That’s the whole point. Neither of us know anything. We both just have opinions. And my opinion is that if the people who organise the royal family are up to something nefarious, then they’re more than likely to want to keep it on a need to know basis. What they won’t be doing is sharing the really dirty, dark secrets with someone who was daft enough to a) dress up as a nazi and b) let himself be photographed doing it! Harry isn’t renowned for his discretion or his ability to keep things out of the public eye, is he?

And ‘they’ don’t need to throw anything at him. Every single bit of negative press his name has been attached to recently has been of his own making. How do you think ‘they’ have been causing him problems?
He explains all this quite clearly in his book and in several interviews. They feed negative stories to the press to keep the attention away from others and have been doing it since he was a child.
Oh well, why didn’t anyone say so earlier? If he explains it all in his book then it must be totally accurate. I’m sure nobody in the RF would have anything different to say. I have to say though, I’m slightly curious why, if they have that much power in the media, they didn’t do a better job of covering up any of the scandals that various members of the family have been involved with over the years? I’m pretty sure that the Queen wouldn’t have been over the moon to read about her DiL’s toes being sucked, while she was tucking into her bowl of cornflakes.

Because the only thing I can recall is declining to provide him with police protection.
Then you have absolutely not been paying attention because there have been dozens of negative stories.
I pop onto the Daily Mail website most days. They’re not H&M’s biggest fans, but if all these dozens of negative stories have passed me by, then clearly ‘they’ aren’t doing their job very well, are they? It’s almost like there’s no real commitment there?

And while I do sort of see his point, can you imagine the uproar if British tax payers money had been spent on providing protection for them? The couple who want no part of serving the country and don’t even want to live here?
It's not his fault one bit that he is in the public eye and everyone knows who he is. He was pushed onto the world stage as a kid, a baby even. it is absolutely owed to him to pay for his protection. I imagine there would be an uproar if the British Taxpayer was footing the bill because the press would be all over it, but I don't want to pay for security at EDL rallies either. I still have to because it's a large public event where there are going to be lots of people so secuirty to present as much as anywhere else.
I repeat, I do sort of see his point. But there are children of famous people all over the shop. Should the Beckhams children be given police protection? Should the Kardashians? Charles, Camilla, William and Kate have police protection. Everybody else manages just fine with bodyguards. If Madonna & Beyoncé can manage in London with just a few body guards, then I’m fairly sure Harry will cope. No, he didn’t ask to be born, but he’s an adult now. And police presence at EDL rallies is hardly comparable now, is it? They’re there because there will be guaranteed crimes committed between them and counter protesters if they don’t attend.

I don’t think you’ve thought this through.
Have you? Have you actually? because you seem very unaware of the full picture.
I’m very clearly not paying as much attention as you are. Perhaps you need a hobby. Crochet? Jogging?

Well it didn't work for the first series. First episode barely scratched the top 10 in the US or UK, and the rest sank.

ETA: And the "second" 🤔 series isn't out until the autumn this year. So I guess we've got a few more twerking videos to come before then...

Viviennemary · 05/06/2025 15:17

Tbh I think it's rather obscene.

Actually it got to number 1 in the UK not for long but it still got there ..

Did it now. The first episode, was that?

I know that generally, the series got to number six.

Not the smash hit that Netflix were hoping for, either way.

DipsyDee · 05/06/2025 15:21

It’s beyond cringe and they are now beyond desperate. There is nothing female empowerment in this video whatsoever.

I thought it was the series ,they usually have a banner saying number 1-10

TheHillsIsLonely · 05/06/2025 15:23

I like it. It's fun and it made me smile. It comes across as very natural, a couple in tune with each other, not taking themselves too seriously, at a special moment in time. It's something I can imagine doing to get labour moving without intervention, had all my babies not come early.

Why would her opinion change on different threads? Yours doesn't.

SP2024 · 05/06/2025 15:28

I don’t really have an opinion. I’m impressed she could get that low whilst heavily pregnant AND allegedly in labour. I could barely walk by the time I was in hospital! I also don’t really understand why they released it at all. I know privacy doesn’t mean not showing anything but why do you want to show anything? I wouldn’t post this if it was me, especially not to the world’s media

Fitasafiddle1 · 05/06/2025 15:33

I wonder if they are proving a point the public, and we will find out it is fake or something.

I just can’t imagine why they would do this. Their kids are going to hate them in a few years that’s guaranteed!!!

TheBig50 · 05/06/2025 15:33

They both look like a pair of nobs.

She's waited 4 years to share this...

Still look like a pair of nobs.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 05/06/2025 15:47

Yes. It is soooo not a good look. Still, we know the Markles aren't big on self awareness they no doubt think they look very cute and hilarious. One for the private family folder Harold.

Cute? You call grinding cute?

FoodAppropriation · 05/06/2025 15:58

I find them cute too, refreshing to see celebs not being completely full of themselves.

The funny thing is that positive opinion doesn't have the biggest impact on their post, but all the haters making a huge wave of what is basically a non event are giving them the publicity they need and keeping their brand current.

If people were just smiling or completely ignoring, it would have been largely ignored. The video is everywhere because people are talking about it. Brilliant move.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 05/06/2025 15:59

I've not been a fan of some of their antics but this seems harmless enough. If the old Queen can parachute from a helicopter (sort of) and take tea with Paddington, I don't think I can begrudge H&M a little frivolity.

Perhaps the entire extended family should get together in a castle ballroom and twerk it out. It might be cathartic.

Hjsjshsn · 05/06/2025 16:00

It’s fun. It’s not something I would do but I don’t care if they are doing it and it’s nothing to hate on.Made me smile when I watched it. Love that she is still rising above the hate!

There is harmless fun and there is tasteless, cringeworthy fun. Meghan's twerking is the second.

Do you think the old Queen would have approved of this video?

Lindy2 · 05/06/2025 16:03

It's my daughter's 4th birthday so here's a weird dancing video all about me.

Strange and quite undignified really.

I never paid any attention to the rumour mongering about her not actually having been pregnant but I have to say that dancing isn't how most people at 41 weeks pregnant move. I would have found that extremely painful at the end of my pregnancy.
