To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

I would think it was fine if she hadn't been claiming to have gained 65 pounds? And I looked at Kim kardashian who gained 65 pounds and thought ? Isn't meghan smaller? Wouldn't it be spread out a bit? It's a lot of weight to carry and be able to dance with

I'm not saying she wasn't pregnant btw I'm saying she didn't gain that much weight and she got sensational with her numbers

(She might have said kilos actually either way it's a lot)

I think it’s cute and very human.

These 2 can’t win no matter what they do. The way they are often vilified in the press and on social media only proves that Harry was right to take his family away from this country.
People are so hateful in the UK and like to try and find the negative in anything.

Im not sure of the film but yes 100 per cent we getting more and more dumb. The irony being we have access to more info, we have more awareness of things and yet we can't learn to be balanced or fair. We must be stupid and extreme in everything we do. 🤣

And we are only aware of this because of social media platforms giving everyone their say. Years ago we wouldn’t have known

helpmeCalifornia · 05/06/2025 14:39

Hadn’t seen/ heard about it till this thread, though to be fair I’ve been away.

My only thought was that if it’s your daughter’s birthday surely it would be more usual to post about your daughter - not yourself/ your dance moves whilst in labour. But maybe she did post more generally about the child and then this was just a ‘funny’ add on.

I’m kind of indifferent to the lot of them really. I thought their wedding was beautiful, but since the death of QE2 I can’t muster any kind of enthusiasm for any of them. I find her quite false and cringe making the way she speaks in snippets I’ve heard/ seen more recently but also agree she was subject to terrible treatment by the press whilst they were still ‘in’. I thought their interview and the books were awful things to do: but quite right that other members of the family havent been averse to airing their dirty laundry either.

I was quite up for going along with the royalist charade before, now I think it’s probably time for it to end - but nor do I think Harry and Megan’s deal has ever been anything other than self-serving. I don’t believe they’re on some noble mission to expose the hypocrisy of it all - they’re quite happy to emphasise their ‘royalty’ when it suits.

Weird.

Some things should be kept private.

But its what C List celebs need to do for clicks.

If anyone listens to podcasts, the episode on It’s a Royal Knockout in The Rest is Entertainment by Richard Osman and Marina Hyde is brilliant! https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-rest-is-entertainment/id1718287198?i=1000684501806

I honestly think if they had taken a leaf out of princess Anne’s book they would have been loved. She is known as being the hardest working royal and is really respected. My assumption when they got married was they would gradually assume her responsibilities as time went on and Meghan would essentially fill her role until Princess Charlotte was old enough to start taking on the duties. I admit they aren’t the showiest of gigs, but the people whom Princess Anne visits it is really important.

I think so too

As a republican I was rather concerned when Harry married as I thought shit - those two will bring the young and the undecided back
So thank goodness the jealous Windsors hounded them out . Biggest mistake they’ve made in along time .

Can I just ask you one question: are you a Republican? 😂

It is harmless. It should be something for them to enjoy together privately. It's just oversharing to another level. Cringeworthy.

That's how lots of people are these days though. Fb, Instagram tiktok, all that shit. I just don't watch it, but i think they should all crack on if it makes them happy.

sciaticafanatica · 05/06/2025 14:57

I think for people who bang on about privacy they keep releasing private moments to try and stay relevant

elliejjtiny · 05/06/2025 14:59

I don't particularly like either of them and find their need for privacy while sharing their most intimate moments really annoying. But there is nothing wrong with that video. It's great that she is doing that in labour. I paced rather than danced with my 1st and 3rd births but I found it really helpful and my best births were the 2 I was allowed to move around. With my 5th baby I got to have an hour quietly soaking in the bath before I had the induction drip and I made more progress in that hour than I did in 4.5 hours on the drip not being allowed to move.

Chapter 847238 on the worldwide privacy tour.

justasking111 · 05/06/2025 15:02

Whatever works, dancing, bouncing on a ball sitting in a paddling pool is fine. Prone on your back just slows everything down. My midwife had me walking for one baby. The third I stayed at home for as long as possible. He arrived an hour after I arrived at the hospital. Your legs don't stop working.

CantStopMoving · 05/06/2025 14:28

Harry and meghan?! That’s a bit harsh. He’s not known for being very clever but I think you are being a bit mean!

Nah, think it's pretty accurate 😁

TeaAndTattoos · 05/06/2025 15:02

It’s just another attempt at keeping themselves relevant.

Well they're not earning any money from us wittering away about them. Will it make anyone watch more than one dull episode from "Series 2" 🤔 of her Netflix show?

TheatreTraveller · 05/06/2025 15:05

Absolutely embarrassing. But I'd think that no matter who was doing it. But I get the feeling this is the usual attention seeking and desperate need for validation from them which is very sad so more feel sorry for them.
Certainly neither of them can claim to dance, looks very awkward when they could have actually just had fun with it.

rumblegrumble · 05/06/2025 15:07

This keeps dancing across the front page of The Times, like the start of some very weird porn video. It's very distracting.
