Just being nosey and quite bored 😅

So..me, mid 40’s, live abroad, sat on balcony drinking a Somersby, Dd, 7 will come up to bed in a minute and we’ll do bedtime story. I’ll probably come back on the balcony when she’s asleep. Dh going out

Anyone else? Vague age, area, plans? Sm shows me everyone is out and my road is very quiet

I just tried to sit up, coughed violently, and accidentally kicked my boy cat in the face causing him to have drama llama-ed off the bed. I have apologised of course, but thank heavens I stocked up on Catnip Dreamies today.....

If it’s any consolation, I’m almost 40, 3 kids and trying to pluck up the courage to leave a relationship so fully expecting to fell lonely and heartbroken very soon. Sending solidarity!

Mid 50s, NE England. Just watched BGT, with a JD and coke, and too many crisps. Now watching 1992 tribute concert to Freddie Mercury. DP very happy as Sunderland won!

CrowsInMyGarden · 24/05/2025 21:29

@WhereIsMyJumper Hope your Mcs was tasty and that you enjoyed the film. Hope your broken heart heals quickly.

Early 30s, NW England - currently breastfeeding my 6 week old in bed while one dog sleeps on the floor next to me and the other sleeps on the floor of our spare room where my partner is gaming. Next activity will be to try and get the baby to her crib without her waking up 🤪

CrowsInMyGarden · 24/05/2025 21:31

Early 60s, Essex. Just ate a curry and watched Chelsea Flower Show. Husband gone to bed. Sitting with two farting Border Terriers. I know I just said I ate a curry but it is honestly the dogs farting.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 24/05/2025 21:32

Now that both dc are napping I'm going to sneak into the kitchen to paint one of the walls. 🤞

(I've really enjoyed this little corner of MN. It has felt like checking in with a bunch of friends.) 💕

This is a really nice thread.... it's a bit like when you're travelling out of town on a train in the evening, and you get a glimpse of twilight lit houses, seeing little snapshots of people's lives as they're cooking, or sitting down for dinner through warmly lit windows, or you see kids and a dog playing in the garden.. maybe a barbecue being fired up.

It's making me feel a warm sense of connection, if that doesn't sound weird, imagining the visuals.

I want everyone to be having peace and respite from their problems, for these minutes.

Yes, I'm a soppy old mare.

Yes but no doubt a lovely soppy old mare 💐

Forties - chilling with ds2 and pets watching Brooklyn 99 - dh and older 2 dc have gone to bed already (dc are mid GCSEs so are in an early to bed/early to rise routine). Dh and I walked the dog to the pub early evening and then came back for dinner with everyone.

UK based. Mid 30s watching tv in bed with pupper enjoying a Diet Coke. Mindfully I’m in Monaco watching the F1 on a yacht and reading books in the glorious sunshine

A fellow F1 lover I would love to be on a yacht trackside this weekend.

As for me right now I’m mid 30’s UK, my children are with their dad for the night and I’m resting as much as I’ll let myself 🤣 after a small heart surgery on Wednesday

Aww, thank you x Everyone on this thread sounds lovely.

Solidarity to those struggling with anything, life can be pretty cruel sometimes. I really wish it wasn't ❤️‍🔥

Single mum in YVR, nursing baby atm 😹, older toddler put self down for a nap! 👏👏👏👏
Just hung up a load of laundry with plans to get two more loads done once baby falls asleep.
Gorgeous spring day here and about 16c.
Morning was up and out for older one's sport.

What’s YVR?

Cel77 · 24/05/2025 21:39

47;sitting with autistic son aged 9 as he needs me to fall asleep.

Day out at the London Aquarium with our two children. Half a bottle of wine drunk tonight.

Feeling it.

Once my boy is asleep, I'm straight to bed

Daughter (5) asleep.

Husband and dog watching TV.

AtTheRitz · 24/05/2025 21:39

Late 50s, having an early night and planning to read my book after catching up with Race Across the World. DH is at work; when he’s not working (NHS so works till late) he goes to bed earlier than me, so I’m taking advantage of having the bed to myself for a few hours! Teens doing their own thing, chores all done and went to the gym earlier so feeling virtuous. SE England, hoping for rain as love drifting off to sleep listening to it, plus we really need some to keep the pond full and the frogs happy.

wineandsunshine · 24/05/2025 21:39

Early 40’s, South. Just binge-watched 3 x episodes of Clarksons Farm and I’m going to have an early night. Shattered from teaching this term so I need a few days rest/reset! We had a late lunch out at a local food fayre today - tried a lovely curry followed by brownies! One DS at the gym (who does that on a Sat night 🤣), one DS gaming and another at a sleepover so pretty quiet here.

MoetUndChandon · 24/05/2025 21:40

50s Just taken a break from watching Master and Commander so DD (17) can knock up some bread dough so we can have a nice breakfast tomorrow.

What’s YVR?

Vancouver, Canada I’m guessing. YVR is the airport code for Vancouver

NewShoesForSpring · 24/05/2025 21:41

Mid 50s, Ireland, I'm lying on our bed looking out floor to ceiling windows at the trees & rolling countryside.

We live in a 170 year old farmhouse which we have restored from a ruin..

Dh & dd (20) are downstairs in th e sitting room lying on a sofa each watching a film.

We've just had a totally random dinner to use stuff up because we were all too lazy to go grocery shopping today as intended. We had twice baked potatoes (stuffed with mature cheddar & ham) cauliflower cheese (from the freezer) & Aldi McDonald's dupe chicken tenders (which were surprisingly edible!)

Dh & I had a g&t earlier & I'm having a v nice red wine now & reading my book, when I'm not looking out the window or on mn

We have Baci sweets, a gift from Italy.

I'm trying to resist as I'm trying to lose a stone. But today hasn't gone so well so far 😁

EveryDayisFriday · 24/05/2025 21:42

Mid 40s. Camping in a downpour in Scotland 😒, the forecast doesn't look much better for the rest of the week.

Crispynoodle · 24/05/2025 21:43

Late 50s NI sitting in the quiet with DH listening to the birds outside thinking of going to bed

GoofyGoldie · 24/05/2025 21:44

57, NE England.
Lying on settee scrolling on phone, wearing heat belt for the pain my liver mets are currently causing. Chemo was yesterday so very tired today..
DH has just come in from walking one of our dogs. DD took the other dog earlier. She's now in her room chilling, having a whole weekend off gcse revision. She needs it as she's worked so hard.
DD & DH off to last match of the season tomorrow.
DSS is in his room - he mostly lives there!
I'm off to bed soon. Plan for tomorrow is to paint some pictures, recently got into art through the hospice. & try to paint or draw most days.
