To wonder if there's any actual evidence that's trans women are not safe in male loos?

I feel, as a FWR lurker, that I would have seen linked articles to bank up the fact that trans identifying men aren't safe in men's loos, and therefore that's the rational why women should budge up and accept trans identifying men in their spaces.

I'm pretty sure with a quick Google I could fund evident that trans identity men have made women's spaces unsafe (Kate delowski? The one who worked for a charity and made a masturbation video).

So AIBU to wonder what hard evidence there is?

Well?

If they were wearing jeans and a T-shirt, how would anyone know they were trans?

Exactly. Exactly.

And the transwomen I know do often dress like that - jeans, t-shirts, leather jackets.

Are you getting confused with drag ?

Of course, now we are getting women - women born women - being challenged in women's loos if someone thinks they look 'masculine'.

A lot of trans women, especially those who got puberty blockers, look no different from women born women. I have no issues with the trans women I know in female loos, whether it's me or my granddaughters. The problem is the rare predaotr taking advantage of the laws as they stood. But short of having the genital inspectors out, I'm not sure how these laws can be enforced, especially as many trans women have had surgery. I certainly don't want to have to show my id every time I go into the loo.

Which ‘transwomen’ in the public eye can you point to that look ‘no different’ to actual women?

Even the ones who took puberty blockers to prevent puberty (a minority) are totally clockable as make, especially when they move. Others, who have had facial surgery or lots of make up/hair etc still look extremely naked, especially when shown next to women.

It’s a minority of men who identify as women that have had penis inversion surgery and luckily the law says that all males should stay out of the ladies so thankfully we won’t need ‘genital inspections’ to see which man has had surgery or not.

Trans people constitute just 0.55% of the UK population yet are 4 times more likely to experience violence than cisgender people.

They should have the freedom to mitigate that risk which is significant.

Sources please. And while we’re at it, can we break this down please? I want to know how many times more likely transwomen are to experience violence than women. I want to know which sex this violence is at the hands of, and then the same again for transmen and men. Let’s also compare transwomen with gay men and transmen with lesbians for completeness.

And then when we’ve done all that shall we address that with anyone able to self-ID into womanhood and change the sex markers on their passports and driving licences, that all it takes in your/Stonewall’s scenario is for a rapist or paedophile to say “but I’m a woman” to gain access to our spaces. Cool with that too, are you?

So they look like men then and can use male spaces.

BruceAndNosh · 24/05/2025 19:24

My issue is that if we allow trans identified males to use female spaces in good faith, we also risk allowing other men - not trans - to access those spaces in bad faith.

I think it's the feeling in their heads.

If trans women believe they are unsafe in men's restrooms, then certainly they understand why women believe they are unsafe with biological men in women's restrooms, right?

No, I've never heard of a trans woman assaulting anyone in a toilet. I jave heard of cis men attacking men and women in toilets though.

You've never heard of Katie Dolatowski then?

Or, indeed, read this thread?

Why can't trans people just use the disabled loos? And no, I'm not saying it's a disability! I'm just saying, I always use the disabled loo myself if I can avoid being surrounded by trampy public loo users...

Yes I think we're supposed to see they feeling in their heads. I could be wrong though as no one can tell me the difference between a biological man and a biological man who identifies as not a man.

You use the disabled loo when you're not disabled?

JFC.

Disabled loos are for people who can't use regular loos, not people who just don't want to use regular loos.

So the issue is male violence. That's exactly why we need all men to stay out of female only spaces.

TeaAndToast8 · 24/05/2025 19:30

I’m a missing something.. Op didn’t ask, should trans women be allowed into women’s restrooms, they asked if trans women are at more of a risk in the men’s restroom than men who aren’t trans?
Yet the thread has turned into.. we don’t want trans women in our spaces. You don’t have to worry about that anymore.. It’s not allowed.
Does that mean there can’t be a conversation that acknowledges that trans people don’t feel safe and need an alternative.

Perhaps it would reassure trans people to know that they aren't in fact the main character, that most people aren't the slightest bit interested in them, and that men using public toilets aren't scrutinising other male people wearing jeans and T-shirts for signs of a trans aura.

Women are not being challenged in womens toilets and even if they were I think they would survive it.
And no, a lot of Trans women do not look "no different" to women. No genital inspections are required to know who is a man and who is a woman

You're wrong about women being challenged in toilets, and resorting to slating people's looks is just lazy nastiness.

The only trans woman I know in real life is a nailed on 10/10 and I guarantee you wouldn't be able to pick them out of a line up if your life depended on it.

Well there's no evidence that they are unsafe in men's toilets, that's why.

Screamingabdabz · 24/05/2025 19:32

It doesn’t matter how minuscule people think the threat is from the ‘small’ proportion of people who call themselves trans and have gender dysphoria. You let one bloke in, and you let them all in.

Women and girls are overwhelmingly at threat from men. Even more so when they are in private spaces where they are in a state of undress or vulnerable. Why don’t all the bleeding hearts care about that? Good old fashioned misogyny.

No male bodies in women’s spaces. None.

Apart from the fact that many of them have no intention of complying with the law, you mean?
