Curious to know what opinions you see constantly on mumsnet that you think “Am I the only person that disagrees with that!?”

A chivalrous man who defends womens rights, much to the chagrin of the femphobes and misogynist bigots with a pathological hatred of the female sex class.

My post wasn't about Linehan himself but about his acolytes on here. And you have just backed up my point perfectly. Thank you.

I don't give a shit about trans people living their lives and have no interest in persecuting them. Enforcing rigid sex and gender roles entrenches misogyny and inequality and makes things worse for everyone, women, men, trans, intersex and non-binary. I have never paid the slightest attention to what sort of woman is in the toilet with me.

Also, most women outside of Mumsnet are actually quite supportive of trans people, and gender critical activists are the loud minority. The only thing is, they have money and the backing of the powerful, which makes a difference and is why their influence has grown to such levels. Anti-trans sentiment is closely linked to the far right, and that pipeline is shorter than you think when you look at loonies like Rowling and the people she associates with.

Facts and data to break the meninist echo chamber fringe delusions.

The longer trans extremism goes on, the more people are exposed to what it actually means, and the more people see signs such as "the only good terf is a dead terf", "decapitate terfs" etc, and seeing males urinating on feminist statues, the less popular trans is. Lets have a comparison between 2020 and 2024/2025 and see how the views of the public have changed, shall we? It tells quite the story, and explains exactly why feminists are winning the war.

Oh, you mean rape survivors and feminists that appreciate him defending our rights? Yes, I can see how that must upset the Mens Rights acolytes.

Quite. Peri menopausal symptoms i.e. depression, anxiety, insomnia, excessive bleeding, vaginal atrophy, cramps, migraines, brain fog, hot flushes etc, etc peak between the ages of 48 - 52.

The most common age for women to commit suicide is between 48 - 52.

This is not a coincidence.

No but not all women suffer these symptoms. I had a few hot flashes ( ovaries removedat 50) but my own mother said she suffered none of this at all so it's not a given it will happen

FlakyCritic · 22/05/2025 22:45

Is it flashes or flushes? I'm approaching perimenopausal myself. I imagine it's flushes because they say you come over feeling flushed and hot. Then again it comes like a flash, then goes. So maybe it's both?

Flushes is standard UK English and flashes is standard US English

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 22/05/2025 22:48

I don’t think most people care about trans people, deny they exist, want them all to die blah blah, let alone have an irrational fear of them, they just want men to stay out of certain spaces and sports that’s not for them. The nice ones, the bad ones, the trans ones. Being trans isn’t some sort of sacred caste that absolves you of all risk just because you feel differently about yourself. I know that’s not exciting for the ‘you’re all big hateful transphobes’ brigade (who can never articulate what exactly is transphobic) but that’s what it is. They also currently hold the same, if not more rights as anyone else.

Hence why no one says anything about trans men. Everyone knows they are women and let’s face it come down the pecking order like the rest of us due to that fact. Partake in the Emperor’s New Clothes all you want, more power to you, but you can’t compel anyone else to believe something that’s fundamentally not true.

I think like childbirth there may be a bit of hushing up around this… also lots of research coming out that we are more stressed than ever which can impact symptoms. Everyone one I know my peri age is struggling severely! Myself included

Not these extremes amongst my peer group. We have discussed these things at kength

Both are alive😀

One is dependent on someone else’s body and can’t survive without it.

One is actually a person and has their own body which exists independently.

Very different.

Oh what a load of rubbish!! I am a long term renter and will be renting for the rest of my life. I have a tidy sum of money in the bank now (inheritance), but not enough to buy a property and as I am in my mid 60s can't get a mortgage (and even if I could I wouldn't want one). I pay a very low rent and have only had good landlords.

What would you like me to do if there were no landlords? The two people who rent the other flats were I am also have no chance of buying their own homes.

Maybe if landlords weren't buying up portfilios, prices would be reasonable and people like you could have bought.

You almost seem happy to be a rent slave for the rest of your life, so I'll just leave it there.

bananastraightener · 22/05/2025 23:13

@FlakyCriticDo I look like I care?

YouGov polls and your other evidence is hardly convincing. You sound completely unhinged and like you're frothing at the mouth. The British Medical Association has even denounced the judgement and science does not back you up, I'm afraid.

I like to read the sex and gender threads sometimes and laugh away to myself. What bitter, hateful people you are, and you're also weirdos. People's genitals are living rent free in your head. That's not normal.

I am never going to stop supporting the rights of trans people to live as their chosen gender. And this is an unpopular opinion thread. Your opinion is popular on MN and you have a whole board to circlejerk with your buddies. Mines unpopular and that is ok. We aren't going to agree, stop trying to convince me.

A couple of my colleagues have no choice but to rent, even though it costs them more per month than a mortgage on a similar property would. They can't buy because they don't have enough saved for a deposit.

bananastraightener · 22/05/2025 23:19

More unpopular opinions!

I loathe dogs. "He's friendly!" Well I'm not.

Most people on MN are bullshitting about their income, the majority of posters can't possibly be in the top 10% of earners in the UK. See also, threads full of people astonished that anyone has debt and can't save up thousands easily to afford big purchases.

Most people on MN who say they can cook really can't, and just chuck ingredients together in ways that don't go together, with very little seasoning.

Marks and Spencers clothes are ugly and overhyped. Their food is not cheaper.

Ready meals are perfectly fine

Action films and gangster films are great

@Seymour5 I am receiving treatment for cancer which leaves me feeling very unwell and permanently exhausted, but I'm not eligible for a blue badge. I NEED to sit down on public transport. Under your scheme I wouldn't be able to use the priority seats.

Matlivestream · 22/05/2025 23:29

Transwomen are women.
Transmen are men.

The whole public toilet debate is just ridiculous.

Reading your reply shows that I am not the one who is unhinged. Some in the BMA union are against it, the majority, are not. And science, sadly for you, does back us up.

Calling rape survivors 'bitter' and 'hateful' for not wanting a male to expose his penis to me in the changerooms says more about you than me. Since males rape women and girls with their 'genitals', it's no wonder we are 'obsessed' with it.

I and other women will NEVER stop supporting the rights of females to not have a male in our hard won female only safe single sex spaces. You are losing the battle and the war. Your Mens Rights hateful, vile and bigoted cruel ideology won't win. Feminists will win, whether you like it or not. Thankfully most people care about womens rights even if you don't.

Teapots are roses.
Guitars are traffic cones.

We'll reduce the entire issue down to toilets and ignore sports, rape support, changing rooms, intimate care, pay gaps, prisons and strip searches because we think people are too stupid to notice.

bananastraightener · 22/05/2025 23:35

@FlakyCritic Ok, I'll bite. You don't have the monopoly on being a rape survivor, supporting trans people and being a rape survivor are not mutually exclusive things. And trans people also suffer rape.

Anyway let's not derail the thread, I'd like to see what funny things people continue to post. We've both made our points.

@Matlivestream Males with penis and testicles are not women. And no, as a rape survivor, our rights to female only safe single sex spaces that our foremother feminists fought so hard for is not 'ridiculous'. The sexes are segregated for a reason. It's not just toilets (where women miscarry, wash out bloodstained underwear, cry, flee men etc and understandably need it free from males), but changerooms, rape crisis centres and battered womens shelters too. These spaces need to be female only for the safety, privacy and dignity of the oppressed female sex class who are vulnerable.
