To absolutely not want closer ties to Europe

What is the matter with Stammer toadying up to the EU. We voted Out. Has he forgotten. I switched the TV off when I heard the word contribution and free movement. Here we go again. Shafted and ripped off at every turn and following their dumb rules. It's groundhog day. I'm furious.

The EU's long-distance trade in farm animals exposed,' animals often experience significant suffering during long journeys, where they are overcrowded in overloaded trucks, experiencing exhaustion, dehydration, and a progressive increase in stress as the journey is prolonged.....

I suppose you would therefore also be against importing food from the US then?

EstherGreenwood19 · 20/05/2025 18:07

Another Brexit dick who cannot explain why they wanted Brexit or what laws they do or don’t want.

It’s quite amusing to see everyone try to argue with the OP. As Helen Mirren famously said: “Before you argue with someone, ask yourself, is that person even mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective. Because if not, there's absolutely no point.”

AppUser · 20/05/2025 18:14

I certainly want closer ties with the EU. Especially now that the one-sided 'special relationship' with the US has finally been exposed for the scam that it always was.

The consequences of Brexit have been predictably damaging, and significant numbers of those who voted for it did so on poor or misleading information, and have realised that a UK nirvana hasn’t ensued. The same referendum today would get a different result.

Really? I don't think so. I love Europe visit all the time ..but do I want them taking over our Country and paying for it! No we need a stronger leader to have a ' common market' agreement...remember that! Starmer is not that man he's weak and just wants the fame and publicity...this is from a person who was labour labour labour..NO

Crumbsalive · 20/05/2025 18:16

I'd love you to name just one benefit that we have had from Brexit, one benefit that outweights all the economic and losses of freedom we have had as a result. The disservice that has been done to children is incredible. There is no magic button to take us back to the 'glory' years of the 1950's and they weren't glorious anyway.

Weald56 · 20/05/2025 18:17

Brexit is a failure. it's costing us £Billions. Those who promoted it were fools and/or liars - they ought to be prosecuted....for treason.

All opinion polls in the recent few years have shown that a third referendum (we've already had 2, remember) would vote to remain.

Before the 2016 referendum Farage said a vote to remain by 52:48 would be "unfinished business". Quite so - it's time this nonsense was finished with a vote for closer ties leading one day to rejoining the EU.

Youneverknowwhatyourgonnaget · 20/05/2025 18:19

You’re absolutely right to be pissed off. He has sold us out! The man has targeted the pensioners working class farmers now our fishermen while increasing immigration. At least this fool has just secured a reform government next election…I cannot wait!!

BlueTitShark · 19/05/2025 14:51

But also, does a vote made years ago still valid?

Because at the time the conservatives were in power. They’ve been voted out though.
What makes anyone think that ‘WE’ don’t want to be part of the EU because ‘we’ voted that 10 years ago?

Theres somethimg about the right to change your mind. Esp after seeing the damage Brexit has done.

What a stupid comment. It was always a ‘once in a generation’ vote, you don’t get to vote every few years on something so important. I doubt you’d have this opinion if the democratic result was to remain.

NellieJean · 20/05/2025 18:21

We should remember the wise words of Rebekah Vardy. It’s like arguing with a pigeon, it won’t listen and it’ll still shit on your head.

Only a complete moron would not want us back in Europe. Brexit and the mugs that voted for it ruined the country.
Now they are following the same path with reform. Which would be cataclysmic for the UK.
Unfortunately, you can't cure stupid.

Shambles123 · 20/05/2025 18:22

The self harm that Brexit caused our country is enormous. How isolated and delusional to deny that it has failed.

Snakebite61 · 20/05/2025 18:22

CillaBlackSmith · 19/05/2025 14:09

King Nigel will sort this out!

Only a complete fool would believe that.

Soberinthecity · 20/05/2025 18:23

I’m guessing none of the disastrous fallout from Brexit has affected you.

what are you furious about? What dumb rules are you talking about?

Can you say in what ways we have benefitted from being out of the EU? And what is wrong with freedom of movement for young people to live and study in the EU?

Pissed off about coming in 19th place... me too! And behind Isreal... they are not even in Europe.
I hate Eurovision law too.. so unfair.

😱 don't for get the bloody Australians as well 😂

ConstanceM · 20/05/2025 18:25

Genuinely, ask yourself, on a day to day basis, what difference does being either IN or OUT of the EU have on your day to day life? Then ask yourself why do people start foaming at the mouth to either leave or stay. The most beetroot, frothy ones seem to understand it the least. It's the economy stupid. Anything that puts money in the coffers is good except genocidal Israeli money. We don't want to be any part of that

Teddybear23 · 20/05/2025 18:26

Shwish · 19/05/2025 14:08

What do you want then?

We want to stay separate from the EU as the majority voted for.

HarrietHedgehog · 20/05/2025 18:26

Viviennemary · 19/05/2025 14:13

I just object to being governed by EU laws and the fact they could overturn decisions made in our courts. I don't want that.

Like many people, you were tricked into believing that membership of the EU meant a loss of sovereignty. In fact, our leaving was the gift Putin had been waiting for.

Teddybear23 · 20/05/2025 18:27

I definitely agree with you. Every day he does something more to destroy this country. I wish I could escape but where to??

The UK did not vote to leave. A minority did, and the numbers are dwindling, The majority wants closer ties, certainly when you see Trump and Putin to the right and right. We should rejoin the EU as soon as possible.

We had a vote (a general election). This was in the manifesto. You lost, we won, get over it.
