Doesn’t she have any famous friends? Where has all her money gone? Does she have to live in L.A? It just all seems bizarre, just move somewhere cheaper.

Just to clarify not near a school but when he picked them up from their home. It was outside though.

So not near a school, but in the presence of school-aged children???? And in public? Wow. That's not something any parent (or anyone else for that matter!) should be doing! Flashing one's genitalia in public or "in a place where others might be offended or annoyed" in California is a violation of California's public indecency laws (penal code 314 for those who want to check the language). Dear oh dear.

SERIOUSLY??!!!???? I was kidding when I wrote that - there was no way I thought she would actually have suggested her ex-husband be a Guarantor on an apartment!!! If that's true then that's absolutely nuts! Wow...the whole point of no-fault divorce is so that divorces can be squared away as quickly as possible with as little cost and drama. Forcing an ex-spouse to be a guarantor on a rental agreement would be completely contrary to the public policy involved here: Courts LOATHE that kind of thing because it means that - particularly in a highly combative divorce - there's just one more thing to fight about and to have to ask the Court's help with. If it's true that she stated her ex-husband should have to be a guarantor that really does underscore how little she understands about (or how little she chooses to accept) California law and the reasons why no-fault divorces exist. The DVRO means that any Court would strongly - and reasonably - suspect that the second her ex signed on as a guarantor she would refuse to pay the rental money, meaning that the guarantor spouse would be on the hook for way more money than the Court ordered in their spousal support/child support order - and no Court is going to do that. At this rate, and in light of there being a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, there's a high likelihood that the Court will absolutely have had enough of this nonsense and start issuing sanctions. And in the divorce court setting you have to have behaved truly abysmally for a Judge to want to go down that route.

Indeed, imagine expecting someone who has experienced abuse to the fact they’ve had to get a DVRO against you to then have to guarantor for their abuser. I mean, the mind boggles. And again, reverse the sexes of the two people involved! She’s had a lot of leeway purely down to her sex, and no doubt Teflon Evans will continue to get away with her abuse. Bianca must truly love him to have put up with this shitshow. And they looked fantastic at the MS gala last night-good for them.

DaisyChain505 · 17/05/2025 13:13

Even If you disregard all of Alice’s abuse and shocking behaviour, what she’s asking for is for Ioan to fund her and the kids whole life and that isn’t ok or realistic. He’s contributing towards his children but Alice herself isn’t contributing. She is the issue here in every single way.

She is represented by lawyers, right? And you're saying that she made a statement about wanting her ex to be a guarantor in the context of a filing to the Court!?!??! An actual filing to the court, not some kind of throwaway IG post??! Any decent lawyer would explain to her that there is absolutely no way a Court will force an ex-spouse to be a guarantor on a rental agreement - particularly not when the ex-spouse has already successfully sought the protection of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order! Any lawyer would seriously counsel their client not to go down that route at all - much less to admit to having done so in a filing with the Court! Maybe that lawyer doesn't normally do divorce cases?? Or maybe they did in fact counsel their client that it was a very bad idea to try to seek the Court's blessing to make their ex sign on as a guarantor, but AE said she wanted to tell the Court about it anyway. Ultimately lawyers can only give so much advice - though frankly if a client still insisted on saying something so self-defeating and ignoring clear advice it would be the time for the lawyer to consider whether it was a good idea to continue with that representation. Not least because Courts can also sanction lawyers for wasting the court's time with this kind of stuff. It's such an obviously self-defeating thing to argue to a Court - particularly in this case when the Court would see the attempt to tie the ex-spouse to a guarantor agreement as a means of maintaining contact with that ex-spouse and potentially causing that ex-spouse financial detriment - which in the context of IG being protected by a Domestic Violence Restraining Order is a Very Bad Idea.

Plus, of course, there is absolutely no way a lawyer representing the abused spouse would EVER advise their client to sign a guarantor agreement!!! If they did they would be opening themselves up to malpractice for giving the client blatantly ridiculous - potentially very damaging - advice.

Shocking behaviour.

$4500 isn’t assumed to be the total amount she has to live on. That’s just his share. She should be contributing a reasonable amount too but seems intent on living off him.

when challenged on Insta to get a job, she says she has several but other than selling candles 🙄 I’m not sure what else she does

She doesn't even sell the candles. She stole someone's sent profile and a follower of her's makes and sells candles. The last time I checked, a grand total of 10 sold.

She’s gone through several lawyers - I think she’s onto her fourth. It’s contributed the the huge delays and costs, every time they get close to a hearing to settle an issue she delays because she needs to bring the new lawyer up to speed. The relationship with one ended just before her daughter filed for a restraining order against Ioan and Bianca - presumably Alice was told it was a bad idea and she either fired the lawyer or the lawyer told her she couldn’t knowingly file a false report and ditched her. The report of the RO hearing was equally farcical and sad. The arrived without legal representation. Alice tried to speak but the judge told her that as she wasn’t there during the incident she didn’t have standing so couldn’t intervene. Ioan and his lawyers left the room after they’d made their arguments and Alice went out after them, leaving Ella to give evidence.

The judge was very kind to Ella and talked her through what happened, and Ella eventually agreed that given the way she’d behaved Ioan and Bianca’s response was reasonable. She was offered the chance to defer the case so she could get legal representation but declined. Alice then made much on social media about her her baby had been faced with Ioan’s high powered lawyers etc. I think she thought there would be a public lawyer on standby or something. She also said that Ioan hadn’t spoken to either of their daughters at the court which given they were trying to get a restraining order against him seems an odd complaint.

radishgate · 17/05/2025 13:56

This thread is almost full!! Alice Evans is a lying, alcoholic, drug addict who abused/abuses her ex husband (and his new wife) emotionally, financially and neglects her children’s emotional welfare. She continues to breach her DVRO across social platforms using sock accounts and crazy ‘fans’. Anything else?

MrsPlantagenet · 17/05/2025 14:12

The Tattle threads and research on Alice are really eye-opening. She’s a pretty awful and unstable person. As I said upthread, it’s the children I feel pity for.

SharpBrickKoala · 17/05/2025 14:13

I’m new to Mumsnet (but familiar with this saga having read the court documents) and just wonder why violations of the DVRO don’t seem to be treated severely in the US? I can only go by English courts and personal experience but if a Prohibitive Steps Order was in place alongside a Non Molestation Order, between the pair of them, social media posts and absolutely anything related to the children involved would be banned from appearing online and repeat violations/escalation in behaviour causing fear, harassment and distress are dealt with swiftly by the police and the criminal court. It doesn’t help with all cases sadly but in ours, the rigidity of boundaries and swift consequences eventually conditioned somebody behaving wholly inappropriately at best and abusive at worst, to reflect on their behaviour and realise/be compelled to understand that it simply couldn’t continue or they would be in prison for a very long time. The resentment may still exist (I would hope time has calmed such anger) but the irrational and traumatic actions eventually subsided enough over a number of years for life to move on for all involved; it would appear that Alice is so fixated on her own perceived woundedness that she cannot prioritise the needs of her children and behave or think rationally, if her social media account/use of social media was controlled in the sense that it could only be used to promote herself professionally then it would remove the opportunity to humiliate those poor children nor have a platform to demean and abuse Ioan and Bianca/feed nonsense to her friend at the Daily Mail, both of which perpetuate further abuse by proxy. Swift punitive action for her sock accounts on other platforms might quell that behaviour too and although kicking and screaming at the start, Alice might eventually fizzle and let things go to the point of regaining some dignity & rebuilding her life rather than obsessing over a scorched earth mission of revenge, surely having powers of arrests and increasing custodial sentences attached to repeat breaches would change her behaviour and scare her straight? I appreciate that Ioan’s legal team are documenting her falling upon her own sword however the damage this is doing to the children is incalculable, my heart goes out to him as a victim of Domestic Violence and abuse which predates the initial separation but the American legal system seems to have failed those poor girls and their father, and has only exacerbated the trauma Alice is putting everyone (herself included) through. What a sad situation that appears more desperate with every additional year that passes. The Daily Mail is clearly guilty of misrepresenting the facts too and help perpetuate Alice’s lies to an international audience, who knows what damage this has done to Ioan’s career and most ironically - his earning potential which would have benefited Alice and her high expectations for generous spousal support. I don’t know too much about litigation abuse but surely Alice is a vexatious litigant at this point and is using court proceedings to further abuse Ioan? Why weren’t Alice’s histrionics and shenanigans employed to sabotage the reunification therapy between the girls and their father addressed and punished by their family court proceedings judge? It’s all so bizarre. The judge overseeing the financial side of things seems to have been so accommodating to Alice but even he must see that a firm hand is now needed and robust measures in place to prevent further escalations of behaviour.

Even if those girls know that their Mother is behaving a certain way online and spouting lies about them being made homeless and destitute, they are then being taught to lie and manipulate a narrative to punish, hurt and ultimately abuse any person they are angry at or conversely, they are genuinely being exposed to a chaotic and scary home life without any sense of stability and safety.
It’s all just desperately sad.

Got busy and didn’t come back to the thread for about 24 hours. Bloody hell. It’s been lively, even a guest appearance from an actual “star”!

I’ve read a few of the tattle threads and omg the evidence they get together on that site is astounding. I actually think AE is such a narcissist that she loves that she has a whole topic on there- she’s probably thrilled her social media presence has made her mumsnet famous too.

Once again, I feel sorry for the poor girls who are stuck living with her and her harmful behaviour. My mum took the breakdown of her marriage to my dad in a similarly toxic way (but nowhere near this bad and ofc it wasn’t public) and it’s had a hugely negative impact on mine and my siblings lives, and all of our relationships.

He cheated, failed to pay ANY support for over a year and forced the whole family out of the home the girls grew up in and felt safe. Now he is forcing them to move AGAIN. Who would want to see a father who does that to his family?

he didn’t cheat. He left her, got into a new relationship.
Alice cheated on Ioan with a cast mate from Vampire Diaries, it’s very well known and the court documents also mentioned him not forgiving her for it

And tbh even if he did cheat… It. Does. Not. Matter. It doesn’t make her behaviour acceptable. She has been and continues to be abusive. And people are allowed to leave unhappy marriages, even if it’s because they’ve met someone else.

This thread is a new low for this site. This is all that's wrong with the murkier elements of the internet, and even given recent standards I'm surprised that MN of all places has sunk quite so far.

That there are this many people so invested in a complete strangers' divorce that they would actually take the trouble to read the salacious detail of their court documents is staggering. Why on earth would anyone do this? Or is this the cyber-equivalent of curtain-twitching?

It's voyeuristic and it really is plain weird.

Absolutely. My husband left his ex wife, she physically, mentally and financially abused him. She is exactly like Alice (even in looks and mannerisms) she just isn’t “famous” 🤣 Alienated the children. Kept financially and mentally abusing him after the divorce. Uses the children as a tool.

Isn’t the curtain twitching element a very big part of AIBU? If not other parts of MN? I actually don’t think this thread about an attention seeking, proven abusive narcissist is a new low. I save that sort of judgement for the countless threads chat shit about those on benefits/struggling with disabilities (and children with SEN)/dog whistle racism etc.

AE has spent literally years on legacy and social media badmouthing her ex husband and his now new wife. She has begged for money while being dishonest about her actual financial situation. If she ends up being publically discussed because of her (public) behaviour, it is hardly surprising let alone "weird and prurient".

No one would pay a minute’s attention to this if it weren’t for the Daily Mail articles and the GoFundMe appeals, honestly. It’s not surprising that people get alarmed by headlines about homelessness and the idea that a parent is leaving their kids high and dry, it implies frightening things about divorce and custody proceedings in the US. People think this shouldn’t be allowed to happen, how could it possibly happen… And then they look at court documents to understand how such a miscarriage of justice occurs.

And that’s when it becomes clear that what’s in the DM and GFM is dramatically different from what’s been playing out in court.

So no - not curtain twitching. More being subjected to ads on a loudspeaker and finally getting curious enough to figure out what the hell it’s on about.

Same

For the last ten years,we've had abuse, nasty harassing phone calls and emails, lies, parental alienation, lies made to both our workplaces, the flying monkeys abusing me in the street-the works

She wishes she looks like Alice, but the personality is exactly the same

We've played the long game-one is grown up and the other a year from being an adult

All because she abused dp (she even stabbed him at one point) ran up debts, belted the crap out of him and the kids, spent all his money, cohesive control, mind games, tried to stop him seeing family and scared all his friends away and he finally left her

We've been back and forth through the courts-she just laughs and carries on,back we go,she laughs and carries on-the cycle continues

Just another year of this shite and our 'alice' loses

One child is already nc with her,it's just waiting for the other to do the same and then this 'alice' will explode in her own bile

And I'll be sat with the popcorn, enjoying the view

This.

In a divorce, even a fair and happy divorce, both parties have to downgrade their lifestyle and do what they can to contribute. It should be blindingly obvious, the combined income now has to cover two homes, not one.

I’m usually very biased towards the women in divorces, but I know through experience that some women simply will not help themselves and expect their partners to keep funding a particular lifestyle that’s not possible.

While you're reading here Alice, can I suggest you pay a visit to a local Zara before your next Con? Maybe get an appointment with a personal shopper?

I suggest Zara because it's affordable and has a European look that should appeal to you.

You'd look good in some structured tailoring - more modern and flattering - you're tall so could carry it off. Here's a suggestion that still helps cover your neck too:

https://www.zara.com/uk/en/-pT0283478504.html

Also, it looks like shoes go up to size 9 uk so having heels hanging off the end of ill fitting mules would be a thing of the past too 😀
