Doesn’t she have any famous friends? Where has all her money gone? Does she have to live in L.A? It just all seems bizarre, just move somewhere cheaper.

Wife complains in undignified fashion. Man gets Turkey teeth, a younger model and (doubtless) replacement kids.

Yup, indeed you’re wrong. He left an abusive marriage. She alienated the children. He moved on after leaving her. He had to file a restraining order due to her abuse. He’s now requested for it to be permanent due to her ongoing behaviour. Including using a school parents evening to get close. Hadn’t booked an appointment for herself mind, to see how her child was getting on. But made sure to turn up to his appointment.

She could have had a good life, he wanted a quick split and for them to move on. She refused to leave the home for it to be sold. She refused to allow reunification therapy to happen without getting involved, interrupting and disrupting.

She claims poverty whilst order $100 dollars of fresh fish, shipped in. She claimed she couldn’t pay rent publicly before, when her financials were examined (for the court case she dragged out) a forensic accountant at that time found she’d already paid that months rent when she made the claim and had a hefty chunk in the bank. Everything is to abuse him, be it through the courts, by embarrassing him on social media, be it destroying his career (she was contacting studios about him).

I felt sorry for her a few years ago but there comes a time to stand on your own two feet. It must be awful being dumped in the public eye for someone much younger. He’s a dick too but it’s just a never ending saga just live your life.

Well this is a hot take on someone with a DVRO, documented episodes of abuse and continued violations. Perhaps people on mumsnet can just actually read the legal documents filed on this mess, and choose not to support an abuser, just cause she’s a woman?

I can imagine it is stressful life living off going to Vampire Diary conventions. Neither of them can afford the Hollywood life style.

If a man behaved the way that AE has, based purely on what’s in the public domain rather than behind closed doors, he’d be utterly vilified as an abusive person. I can’t believe there are people blaming him for HER behaviour.

They are both pretty awful and it feels very intrusive for anyone to be reporting on what is essentially a very badly handled private family situation spiralling forever downwards. Jen Aniston won everyone's respect through her handling of her situation and I would guess she lives a very fulfilled life. This could've played out similarly, but Alice blew it. I get that she is heartbroken and needs help, but she really hasn't helped herself one bit. In that respect they have both handled it very badly and now reap the consequences.

Normally,I don't take sides-i firmly believe there are 3 sides to every story and I've been the one left holding the baby (so to speak) while he got on with living his best life but it seems she can't cope with not being the one he wants,has used/abused her own kids to spite him and used money for her own ends

How do you feel about public displays of abuse and continued violations of restraining orders? How do you feel about having your daughter falsify a restraining order against her dad, leaving her in court to deal with it herself, and a judge having to explain gently the difference between truth and lie?

I don't think Ioan Gruffudd is particularly well off either, by LA standards. Google puts his net worth at $3M, which is a pretty small budget to support a family who are all living under one roof if you're in the showbiz world and living in LA, let alone if you split up and need to support two separate households out of that. No idea what his annual income is but surely it can't be that high and he's paying his ex wife $60K a year.

Basically neither of them can afford the LA lifestyle.

I had to google who this woman is and i'm not one of those posters who revels in not knowing who celebs are.

She isn't THAT famous - and neither is her ex-husband. He's done more than she has but is most-mentioned for Fantastic Four movies which were released 20 years ago, after 102 Dalmatians she has done nothing notable at all. They are both among hundreds (thousands?) actors in California who did a role and never translated a one-off success into a career.

As others have said though, in that position of not getting regular work in your chosen field, you go off and do something else to pay the bills. Or move to a different area - I don't imagine LA to be particularly cheap. It is very entitled to set up a begging page, but if she has had an acrimonious divorce is this just a way to keep sticking the knife in her ex?

Yikes, just looked at her Instagram page. She has made the marriage breakdown her whole personality. Sad for the children. I don’t know the whole story of course but there comes a time where you must move on, for yourself as much as the children. He may have treated her poorly, but how long can she wallow in the pain?
