Doesn’t she have any famous friends? Where has all her money gone? Does she have to live in L.A? It just all seems bizarre, just move somewhere cheaper.

Men can of course be victims of domestic abuse.

However domestic abuse is a gendered crime and 96% of defendants at trial are male.

How is that relevant to this particular case?

Willyoujustbequiet · 16/05/2025 12:13

The new guidance has been issued for parental alienation and alienating behaviours.

As stated by the MoJ review and FJC guidance it is rare.

Are you suggesting that parental alienation hasn’t happened in this particular case?

I haven't commented at all on this specific case. I responded regarding the concept of PA

It's relevant because if you read the quote history the poster I responded to queried that posters don't believe that men can be victims of abuse.

I replied that they can but that DA is a gendered crime and provided some stats to evidence that.

I’m aware, given that I’ve read it. The new guidance does not claim that alienation does not happen, or that it isn’t serious and harmful when it does. There is supporting evidence that it is happening in this case.

That men are the perpetrators in the majority of cases is not something that should be used to downplay or dismiss cases where women are the perpetrators and men the victims, which is what everything after the ‘but’ in your sentence is attempting to do.

I didn't say that and again I have not speculated on this particular case.

It is however rare and its entirely reasonable to acknowledge that.

Nonsense.

That men are overwhelming the perpetrators is a statement of fact.

@Willyoujustbequiet you seem to be raking over posts and then making very generalised comments that aren’t about the specifics of this case so not relevant.

do you believe AE is abusive?
do you believe she has the children's best interests in mind?
do you think she has alienated the children against their father?

It seems to me that this is a discussion board and @Willyoujustbequiet can add points that she feels to be relevant. She actually doesn’t have to state if she believes the allegations or not. Chill out

It’s also reasonable to acknowledge the evidence of it happening in this case, on a thread about this case.

It was concluded by the MoJ that only a court can make that specific determination.

As far as I know that hasn't happened as of yet in this case but I haven't read the transcript which is why I haven't commented on their particular circumstances.

And equally, I am allowed to ask a poster who is commenting so much on a thread about a couple what their opinion is on them, am I not? I am currently sat in the sun so very chilled, thank you

As stated above I haven't read the case transcript. I'm a solicitor. It would be foolish of me to speculate without knowing the details of a specific case.

I believe my points to be relevant if numerous other posters are discussing parental alienation.

I appreciate that, thank you.

I understand its a very emotive subject for many people but I also think unfortunately misogyny is deeply rooted in our society and indeed the judicial system (not alluding to this specific case). It can sometimes be best countered by statistical/factual evidence.

I’d not read the eldest’s application until now. Basically she was alleging abuse by dad and gf and it was totally dismissed by court.
They are picked up by dad from police station with a psychologist chaperone in tow.
Alice hasn’t sent leotard for younger one even though she knows she has a gymnastics lesson (presumably to paint him in bad light he didn’t take her to class or to try and force him to come to her house)
Instead he says we’ll go to mall for new leotard.
Teen says she can’t cope in mall and has panic attack and wants to sit alone in car.
He understandably says no, you need to stay in car with an adult.
They try lesson it’s a disaster as younger then apparently has panic attack.
Go to his flat as psychologist suggests to calm down but gf there as it’s her flat and girls run out of flat in great distress and are chased by dad and girlfriend. Nanny called and they are collected.
It’s clear from what she says that this huge drama filled existence is very much norm and dad saying things like calm down and no you need to stay with adult is not her normal parenting.
She also mentions dad paying for phones for her and sister so he’s clearly still funding things over and above maintenance payments now.
Hopefully eldest can go to college in a couple of years and see normal behaviour and start to question what she’s seen and been told. Mum appears to be trying to set her up for nepo modelling however they’ve done a few pap walks.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure college is in the future for the eldest. She was kept off school for over a year by Alice, and didn't have any form of education in that time. An entire year in your teens is a huge chunk of time. Then there's the fact that most of the marital finances has been spent on legal fees, as Alice vowed to drag it out until they were both ruined. I hope she is able to get an education, but I will admit it seems quite clear Alice has no plans for her girls to spread their wings... she seems to be trying to clip them as best she can so they'll never leave.

@Willyoujustbequiet genuinely not trying to give you the Spanish Inquisition here but where do you think misogyny has played a part here?

This implies you think that the pile on against Alice Evan’s is down to societal/cultural issues which seems like a strong statement given you haven’t read any of the facts of the case.

Its deeply entrenched in the judicial system and the failings by Cafcass and the reports evidence that.

I did say in brackets my comment was not alluding to this specific case.
